Kyte layed back on the bed with a slouch. He had just made a fool of himself, and needless to say he did not like it. He had met some new people though, which was good...he supposed. He saw that Jin was doing a good job taking care of the girl, who they called Samantha. He sighed. He realized he had been sighing a lot lately. Perhaps there was some way to fix all this. They didn't look good on food at the moment...perhaps he could bring them some. He thought it over, and thought that there couldn't be a better way to make things up. So he got a loaf of bread from his pack, a wedge of cheese, and three chunks of deer meat. He nodded to himself; this should make a nice peace gift. He slowly walked back out into the hallway, knocking on the wall a bit to get Mars' attention. When Mars faced him, he walked forward and spoke quietly, trying not to get the others' attention. "Look, uhm...it's not much, but I think you should have this." He gave Mars the bag. "I've got a good feeling about you people, so I guess it's ok to at least give you food. I'm sorry for breaking and entering, I saw the wounds the girl had and was concerned. I know it's unusual for one to worry about someone he doesn't even know, but...let's just say I'm used to taking care of people I'm unfamiliar with." He sighed softly, almost unnoticeable. He didn't want to ask this question, but he honestly knew no one else better than these people, albeit they only talked for about three minutes. That's the longest intelligible conversation he ever had..."I know this is going to sound weird, but...do you know any pirates?" He felt stupid as soon as he finished the question, but this was the best person he could ask at the moment. |

"Take another step, and you'll really be sorry," Sam said to Vincent's request to study her. "I'm sorry," Vincent said as he backed away from the girl, "it was just a request, no need to get aggressive." Once again, the voice in his head led him wrong. ”Anybody have matches or anything to light up a fire?" Vincent heard the man called Jin ask and Mars answering him, "I saw some flaming barrels downstairs." "There's no need to get the fire from downstairs," Vincent said, "I have some ignition devices for my grenades that work just as good as a match." Without waiting for a response, Vincent went to back to his room to grab the ignition devices. "Shit" he though when he entered his room and found it a mess from the explosion. Vincent continued to curse as he rummaged through the mess to try to find the ignition devices. After a minute or two, Vincent finally fished out two ignition devices from the grenades he's been working on for the past two days. On his way out, Vincent stopped and thought, "They said something about moving Samantha to a different location so I should probably pack my things and go with them." "Yes, this is a one in a life-time opportunity if you want to study her," said the voice in his head. A smile spread across Vincent's face, yes, he would join them, his experiments must continue. Granted, of course, that the group was tougher than hobos that lived around the apartment building. "Here's the ignition mechanism," Vincent told Jin as he handed him the mechanism and pointed to the button, "just press this button right here". |

Samantha watched as Vincent got his ignition thing. She put her hand up to her chin, apparently thinking a bit. After how badly she was creamed in her last fight, she would probably need some new weapons... "Hey you, Gas Mask guy. You really wanna take a look at my robotic body, then I'll make you a deal..." She smirked at the inventor. "You can research the work I've done on my body, and in return you help me remake my left arm with everything it had before and more..." While she waited for a reply, she looked over to Mars to answer him "And by the way Mars, those walkey things are called crutches, and I don't need one. I'll be able to walk just fine on my own." She said scowling, she hated when people said anything that made her seem weak. She wouldn't have minded it if she had come up with the idea, but the fact that Mars thought she needed a crutch or to be piggy-backed!? Just humiliating... Samantha looked over to the younger newcomer, Kyte. "As for your question, that depends, what's your attitude towards pirates?" After thinking about it, Sam had decided that Mars and Jin were most likely pirates, but not like the normal pirates that she had always heard of... They seemed to be more honorable, and not very evil at all. Whatever the case, she bared them no ill will, and even if they were pirates, she wouldn't turn on them. She recalled something she had read a long time ago... That were was an extinct, or at least very rare brand of pirate called Peace Maine... Pirates who in truth, were not really much of pirates in the way of looting and killing, but more of adventurers and warriors. Sam had actually thought, with all the news she had heard that those pirates were essentially extinct, but perhaps she was wrong... Heck if these guys were what she thought maybe she'd even join up, they were a whole lot less prudish than those marine dorks. "Oh yeah, my house." She said, remembering Mars' comment "I'll take you over there, we can sleep in my house for the night, my parents have seen stranger things than you guys." OOC

Waiting by the rotting door frame, Mars sheathed his rapier and took the sack Kyte handed him. There many ways of making Mars a friend, the fastest was definitely food. He reached inside the goody bag and pulled out a wedge of cheese. It was hard to make out in the dismal light, but, the part not covered in dark wax, didn't look like it had mold on it. He held it up to his nose, and sniffed it for a second. It didn't have much of a smell, it's odor seemed to have mixed in with the other foods. His mother would think it rude, for him not to eat a piece at this point. Mars set down the sack and unsheathed his rapier, he used it like a noble's cheese knife. It would also be rude for him not to offer a piece to his friends. He cut a piece for Jin and Sam, and tossed it to them. Mars sheathed his sword and put the rest of the cheese into the bag. He popped his chunk into his mouth. It was salty and crumbled in his mouth, it had a sharp bite, it reminded him of cheese from home. "Mmmm, thash rilly gud cheese, were'd ju ged it?" Mars munched loudly and spoke with pieces of cheese still in his mouth. His stomach grumbled for more. He ignored it, swallowed, and continued. "I'm no pirate, but I think I acted like one today, or yesterday, I think." Mars finally answered Kyte's question. He had lost track of time, with all the commotion. A bright light flashed and suddenly illuminated their surroundings, displaying the various holes in the walls and ceiling. It was followed by a clap of thunder. "Looks like we'd better get going, then." Mars suggested. Lupa looked like she hadn't taken kindly to his suggestion of carrying/crutches. He reached down for the food sack and grabbed it, before he headed out the door, and into the dimmer hall. He again unsheathed his rapier, before he stepped into the darkness. Getting to the stairs he took them two at a time, bounding down. When he stepped out of the stank-ass building, a strong wind blew, his cloak mimicked it's patterns. It was infinitely more refreshing than the Hotel's strong odors. The Agent who had been following Mars, noticed his exit, his dark cloak also flapped in the wind. Not that Mars would have noticed, he couldn't see him, standing atop the Hotel Hobo's roof. OOC

Jin's emotionless face stared at the people around him, as they conversed with one another. He looked at them and wondered who he could trust and who he couldn't.He wasn't the one to trust people easily and still felt uneasy with these people. He only knew them at the most a few days, but the thing with Mars was, it felt they had gone through a near-death experience together. A sinking ship with dangerous pirates running around, and they had still managed to complete their goal. Unluckily for their former campnion, Mouse, had fallen for the 'greater good' one could argue. Mouse was not trusted by Jin, and never found out his intentions. But from Jin's observation death was worth for someone else to retrieve the sack of loot. That was an honorable deed, and there was a lesson Jin learned to this. He learned that trust could get a possible friend killed, and not everyone had mal intentions. Jin thought about being more loose about his trust issues, but it was almost like his nature now. "Flaming barrels?" he questioned, when Mars suggested using an odd way to heat something up. He thought about and knew that it would work, but it was that sense of feeling like one of the bums on the street. And now that it started raining, msot of the flaming barrels would be out. Jin sighed looking out the window and seeing the quickness of the rain. He could smell wet wood, as the outsides of the abandoned apartment was showered. Jin then looked up at the man with the gas mask suggesting one of his own ignition mechanism. Before he knew it, the man was back with some weird device with a button. The Kilah male tested the ignition device, clicking it several times. Flame shot out from the other end. The fire was a medium size and it would take about fifteen minutes to boil enough water. Jin dug in his sack for a small iron pot. He took one out that would fit about ten cups of water. Jin took out a canteen with lukewarm water and poured it into the pot. He put enough for about two cups and put the canteen back in the sack. Jin grabbed some gauze to wrap it around the pot. He wrapped it around the base of the pot for easier holding and also around the handles. The handle came up like a kettle's handle and he used one hand to light the pot, while keeping a hold of the pot in the air. Jin soon finshed boiling the water. He set the pot down next to the stone grinder with the herbs inside of it. He took out a small bowl with a spoon and poured some hot water into the bowl. After he dumped a little over half of the herbs into the bowl and mixed it. He made sure the tea was well mixed and took out the spoon. Jin got up from his seat and walked over to Lupa. "Sam was it? Could you drink this? This will help your blood regeneration," he said, handing over the bowl to her. The herbalist would go back to his seat and work on making his own medicine now. He got a bowl and administered the same herbs into the bowl of hot water. Jin quickly slurped down the tea, it had a sweet taste at first, but then would have a sour, or spicy aftertaste. The herbalist had gotten used to the different tastes of herbs and learned to like the unique taste it brought. After sipping on his tea, he looked over to Mars who called for him and threw him a piece of cheese. He received it with thanks and started to munch on the cheese. It had a unique taste, but it was still good. It wasn't bad cheese and just kept chewing on it. He didn't bother asking questions where Mars had gotten it from. Jin got up taking his sacks with him. He needed to put the sacks on the ship, but he did not trust this part of Loguetown. He simply followed Mars as he exited the building through the hallway. On the way out, Jin handed the gas masked males ignitor, "Thanks for the fire," he told the man. Edited by DJ-Killa, Apr 15 2010, 11:56 AM.

He heard the girl's question from the next room. "I like the pirates who do what they want, but they don't slaughter others mercilessly or for fun. The type of pirates who have a sense of justice but still like fun." "Mmmm, thash rilly gud cheese, were'd ju ged it?" Mars asked him. He smiled. "That, my friend, is a very special cheese grown on very few islands, but I got that from the island of Malertia." He didn't expect anyone to recognize the island's name, but it wasn't a big deal if someone did, either. "I'm no pirate, but I think I acted like one today, or yesterday, I think." Mars said. "I see...sorry, I know it was a ridiculous question." He smiled briefly. Then Mars spoke up again. "Looks like we'd better get going, then." Kyte thought for a split second, and almost as if he couldn't control himself, blurted out "Would you mind if I came with you? I'm guessing wherever you're going is better than this place, for sure, and I'd do anything to help out in return." Edited by Kyte Uchiha, Apr 15 2010, 03:43 PM.

"Hey you, Gas Mask guy. You really wanna take a look at my robotic body, then I'll make you a deal..." Sam smirked at Vincent, "You can research the work I've done on my body, and in return you help me remake my left arm with everything it had before and more..." "Sure thing," Vincent smiled underneath his mask. "Looks like we'd better get going, then," Vincent heard Mars say as Mars walked out. They sure are an interesting group of people Vincent though as he walked back to his room to pack everything up. After putting all of his inventing tools into a bag, he added his Bible, first aid kit and some of his finished grenades to the bag. Before leaving his apartment, Vincent put on his knife belt underneath his jacket and strapped on his tonfas to his back. After putting on his hat, Vincent walked out of the, now ruined, apartment, not looking back. "Do you really think we should trust them," the voice asked. "They seem nice, of course Jin does not seems like the trusting kind and Kyte wants to join the pirates," Vincent answered. After walking down the hallway and down the stairs, Vincent walked outside into the rain. It was a nice sound, the pitter-patter of the rain on the glass in his mask. He's been cooped up inside the apartment for far too long, so it was nice to be outside again. "So where is the apartment," Vincent asked Mars. |

Sam smiled, watching J0ls eat the cheese that Kyte gave him and smiled even more when he started talking with his mouth full. When Mars tossed her some of the cheese, she took a bit of it casually, it really was good cheese... "Well in that case, Kyte" she said between bites "I'm not really a hundred percent sure, but I think Mars and Jin here might be pirates... But definitely not the bad kind, I've seen that with my own eyes..." "We just came back from some looting mission, nothing major, for a merchant ship. During the middle of things, the ship got attacked by another pirate crew... We met them on the way to the treasure and I could see what they did... They acted like the scum Marines are always making Pirates out to be, killing anybody in their way without remorse, laughing at their pain even. If it weren't for the fact we had stalled them a bit, I'm betting most of the workers on the ship would have died... Also" She looked at Mars smiling "Mars here was kind enough to take all the survivors we found back to Loguetown." "Before I met those two, I thought all pirates were like the bastards that raided that merchant ship... but I guess I was wrong..." After a pause, in which anybody may respond to her little speech, Sam stands up, feeling a bit wobbly "Anyways, I'll lead you out to my house, my folks've seen stranger guys than you stop by." She walked outside the apartment into the rain, feeling a bit wobbly, but able to walk on her own without crutches. She led the group towards a lower crime area of town, closer to the marine base... |

OOC Mars waited for the odd troupe to empty the building. He imagined they made a strange sight, hopefully strange enough to ward off trouble. It didn't look like the few vagrants who hadn't taken shelter, had any interest in pursuit however. He had responded to Spirit's question with a shrug, he wasn't acquainted with Sam's home yet, either. Mars did his best to look nonchalant when Sam complemented him. Mars took his hood off and lifted his face to the dark, now roiling, heavens. He shut his eyes, and drank deeply of the moist atmosphere. The first few droplets freckled his skin. He still hadn't bathed since his inebriated crusades a few days back, so even partial relief from his state was welcome. "I got dibs on the wash room." Mars mentioned to the others, his head still pointed at the sky. He opened his eyes, turned and smiled to the others, before he followed into step behind Sam. Another crack of lightning split the night's void. In it's powerful illumination, Mars could of sworn he saw movement upon the building's roof. He chalked it up to the wind, and shrugged it off. "So, Kyle, what are you doing in this part of town?" Mars replaced the 't' in his name with an 'l'. His gregarious side had gotten the best of him rather quickly. He wasn't one to let empty air fill time spent with others. And at the very least, he needed to know more about the young man's situation. "How about you, Angle of Death?" Mars asked. He attempted to hide his incredulousness at the man's handle, with a jesting smirk. He didn't notice that he had just butchered both his new companion's names. He had just never had a very firm grasp on language. Or rather, he had always been proficient in visual languages. The storm itself seemed to tease the group, threatening a torrent, before turning back into a hint of a drizzle. As the town's features cleared of malice, and despondency the storm seemed to finally find it's rhythm. It punished the earlier ease of their walk, with a winding deluge. It hit them straight on, the wind buffeted them in turns. The Agent that had followed them from Tramp's Town intercepted Mars' path. With his hand blocking against the downpour, Mars couldn't see the Agent's approach. Mars had put on his goggles, but the lack of waterproofing had helped as much as it hurt. The Agent knocked into Mars and continued on his way, just another oblivious pedestrian hurrying home. The Agent took the opportunity to stick the dispatch he was charged with inside Mars' cloak pocket. Mars was none the wiser, and continued his battle with the elements. Kyte already had what few supplies he had in a sack he slung around his shoulder, along with the morbid components on the middle of his back. It was starting to rain, signifying they needed to get a move on quick if he was going anywhere. "Well in that case, Kyte, I'm not really a hundred percent sure, but I think Mars and Jin here might be pirates...but definitely not the bad kind, I've seen that with my own eyes...we just came back from some looting mission, nothing major, for a merchant ship. Before I met those two, I thought all pirates were like the bastards that raided that merchant ship...but I guess I was wrong..." She paused. He thought she might be catching her breath; he would be too if he had been talking that long, he thought. "Anyways, I'll lead you out to my house, my folks've seen stranger guys than you stop by." Kyte took that as his permission to go with them. Besides, if he took it the wrong way, they could always just tell him off. He did have backbone, believe it or not. "Amanda, was it? Thanks, that apartment was beginning to smell. I'm in your debt." He walked with her, offering her assistance if necessary, as she really was in no condition to be walking right now, out the door of the apartment building with them. It was already flashing lightning above. Of course, thunderstorms feel bad, but there was something ominous in the air. Not as if a bad thing was about to happen, no, but as if he was being watched. He scanned the streets, but no use, they were dark. He also scanned the rooftops and thought he saw something move, but had no way to be sure, a lightning flash his only means of light. "I got dibs on the wash room.", Mars said up ahead. Kyte smiled and shook his head. This man was giving him more laughs then he deserved. "So, Kyle, what are you doing in this part of town?" He blinked. Did he just call him Kyle? He decided to ignore it. "Until we get somewhere where it's not in the open, let's just make a long story short by saying I'm a long way from home, and I have no plans on going back at all." "How about you, Angle of Death?" Kyte blinked. Again. Did he mean to say Angel? And who was he talking to? Kyte decided it was best to ignore it; the question obviously wasn't directed at him. He then saw a man knock directly into Mars, and put something in his pocket. Kyte blinked. He just did that an awful lot in the past minute...but no, wait, that wasn't the point! Did that man just pickpocket Mars? "Hey, you..." Before he could reprimand the man, however, he was gone in the crowd. "Fishy...Mars, you ok? I think that man just pickpocketed you!" Kyte said, concerned a bit. |

Vincent followed the group, enjoying the outside even though it was raining. He did notice that the weather was acting weirdly, first a torrential downpour and then a second later just a drizzle. Although considering the fact that the town was so close to the Grand Line, it should not have been a surprise that the adverse weather of the Grand Line would have some effect on the town. "I got dibs on the wash room," Vincent heard Mars say and chuckled. It really was a good choice to join the group, if only just for laughs. "So, Kyle, what are you doing in this part of town?" "Wait," Vincent thought, "I thought his name was Kyte." "Until we get somewhere where it's not in the open, let's just make a long story short by saying I'm a long way from home, and I have no plans on going back at all," Vincent heard Kyte reply. "I guess his name is Kyle since he didn't correct Mars ," Vincent said to himself. "How about you, Angle of Death?" Mars asked Vincent. "It's Angel not Angle," Vincent chuckled. "You know, those flying white things from heaven?" Vincent chuckled again. After a couple of minutes of walking in the rain, Vincent noticed an unassuming man approaching the group and slightly bumping into Mars before continuing on. Being a thieve though, Vincent did notice something that a normal person might not have, the fact that that person slipped something into Mars's pocket. "Did you just see that," the voice asked Vincent. "Yeah, that guy must be a professional, I almost didn't see it," Vincent replied. "I don't think we should mention it, not yet, this doesn't affect us just yet," the voice continued. "I agree, we still don't know what he slipped into the pocket, so it we wouldn't gain anything by mentioning it." Still, Vincent backed away slightly from Mars, just in case it was a bomb. |

Samantha looked at Kyte irritated as he got her name wrong "It's... Samantha... Sa-Man-Tha! Not Amanda! Call me Amanda again and you can kiss your gonads goodbye ya jerk!" She growled at him a little before groaning, feeling faint again and almost falling over, only to be caught by the very man she had threatened. "Um... Thanks..." She looked up at him, embarrassed. She stood back up and began walking carefully and slowly, trying not to exert her body too much. "It's over this way, near the Marine headquarters, hope none of you guys are wanted or anything" She smiled at them all and began to lead the way forward. It was raining, but she didn't really care, frankly weather fluctuated here in Loguetown pretty frequently. They could get droughts, snow, typhoons, just about anything. It was cause of their close proximity to Reverse Mountain and the Grand Line, a lot of the effects went over to Loguetown. While Sam led the way, she heard Mars talking to the two new guys, she giggled a bit to herself, noticing he got their names wrong. There was a good chance he did it on purpose, especially with his masterful renaming for the merchant ship they were on. just a short while ago. She heard Kyte speak up about Mars getting pick pocketed and waved back. "Don't worry about it, I bet he doesn't really have anything important on him, probably just a couple basic paints and a few beli. The loot from the ship, if he actually took any, is probably back on the E'Sule, or maybe even at the apartment." Samantha didn't give all this info to the newcomers because she trusted them, even though they did seem more trustworthy than most, she mostly gave them this information because she was confident that her, Mars, and Jin would be able to knock them flat almost without even breaking a sweat. So there wasn't really any poiint in 'not' telling them. And by telling the truth they could gain some allies too. Samantha hadn't really thought about it, but after the adventure her, Mars, and Jin had gone on... if they were pirates, they treated her with a lot more respect and care than those marines did, and they weren't as prudish either. Plus as pirates, they'd probably head for the grand line eventually, where the greatest technology in the world was... Samantha wanted to have her fair share of that tech in the Grand Line, she wanted to become a force to be reckoned with, more than just an inventor or a scientist. She would become the ultimate fighter and warrior, even making men with the most powerful devil fruits feel weak and inflexible in comparison to her abilities. Yes... She had decided... if Mars and Jin were pirates like she thought... she would go with them and join their crew. This she swore to herself. Now however, wasn't the time to mention it. Finally Samantha and the others arrived at her house, she knocked on her parents door and they answered quickly "Oh Sam! you're home!" her father said happily, a tall, lanky man with short brown hair and glasses. "We were afraid that maybe you had..." He paused, seeing Sams arm "Oh my god! Honey! Are you okay!? What happened!? Anna! Come here quick! Sammy lost an arm!" A high pitched voice was heard across the house, obviously panicked and scared "WHAT!?" she yelled out, suddenly foot steps were heard, hurrying over to the front door. It was Sams mother but... the two looked so different it was ridiculous, yet at the same time... Anna had long brown hair put into a ponytail, and wore a long dress and earrings, general feminine clothing, she was obviously wearing makeup, and unlike Sam with her nonexistent breasts, Anna had what most people could possible mistake for large bouncy watermelons on her chest. "Oh god Sam! Are you alright!? Who are these men!?" Sam walked inside casually, letting out a sigh "Don't worry mom, they're friends, if it weren't for them I'd be dead. Thanks to them a bunch of the merchants on the ship were saved. Couldn't bring in the actual pirate crew, but we slowed them down enough for the marines to have a good shot at catching em, plus we used the ship we went on to take survivors into Loguetown. They even helped me get back to health after i was hurt. Now come on mom, make em some tea or something." Sam waves her away obnoxiously, while most people would view these actions as bratty, Samantha's parents knew her well enough to know it was just her way of saying she was fine. Anna nodded and smiled, looking back at the other 4 men. "Well don't just stand out there in the rain boys, come on in. Is there anything I could get you all for saving my little girl?" "Mooom!" Sam shouted from across the house "Oh hush missy, you'll always be my cute little Sammy" Anna said back, lovingly and huffy at the same time. Sams father stepped forward now "Thank you for helping Sam, and even taking her home, if there's anything at all we can do for you, feel free to ask." He said, smiling warmly at the four men. OOC

The Kilah male was silent when exiting the building. He kept to himself as everyone else mingled with one another and what not. The martial artist followed from the side, watching them from his peripheral vision, keeping his head straight up and looking forward. He held two sacks, one slightly bigger than the other. Jin looked like a traveler for the most part and not part of the group. Wearing his usual white silky clothing, the rain would smoothly run down it and it would start to soak Jin. The male knew that getting the bags soaked could not be a good idea, so he would try to dodge the rain by passing underneath the roofs of the side buildings. It was dark and raining, yet there were other bypassers that would quickly try to make it out of the rain. The male could hear them talking, and they were basically getting to know each other. Jin wasn't interested in that, he was more concerned with not getting the articles in the sack not wet. He didn't want any medical supplies becoming useless after Mars had worked hard to steal them. Jin seemed to distant to the side a little more and decided to start getting closer. That was when he noticed that a man was walking straight into the group. He watched closely, it was like watching a possible encounter. For the most part, the people on the streets would avoid the group by going to the sides. This man was walking straight at Mars, and Jin expected some kind of cheap shot. But the Kilah male saw him bump straight into Mars, and doing some kind of trick with his hands. Jin being a martial artist had a natural habit of watching people's body movements, mainly their feet and hands. "That was weird, I wonder if Captain realized what happened," he thought to himself. There were two possibilities, either Mars had gotten jacked or someone had put something in his pocket. Jin wondered what kind of person would drop something into someone else's pocket. It was more likely for someone to steal something, but then again it seemed Mars would have noticed something missing. If he had anything that important in the first place. The male kept on following them, as they got closer to the Marine headquarters in Loguetown. It made him feel uneasy in a way, it was like a drug dealer walking by a police station. Jin was technically a pirate, and from his observations the Marines had no mercy for pirates. They were the flourishing people of this generation and the Marines wanted that to be stopped. If they wanted to make it big in this world, then Jin would have to stay low and off the radar of the marines. The last thing Jin wanted for him, or his crewmates, were to get a bounty. That would make things a lot harder for them as they traveled. Having marines pursuing them, other bounty hunters and pirates trying to get them for their bounties. It would be a hectic time, especially entering the Grand Line. Speaking so loudly to each other in public wasn't the best idea for others. As Jin made it a couple of feet beside them, he could hear the Kyte fellow speaking. He seemed smart enough to notice that it wasn't good to tell his past out loud in public around a marine headquarters. Who would know that there might be informants snooping around? The male smirked when they finally reached a house. The greetings between the female and her parents interested Jin, it made him want to be home at Kilah again. It was a good idea, but at the same time it would only make him sad. His parents were both deceased and his sister was nowhere to be found. He hoped that one day, maybe he could run into her. Jin wanted to get into the house and organized his things first of all, to see what materials had gotten wet and not. Jin greeted Samantha's parents formally, though not introducing himself. The strangest factor that occured to him when he entered was that, Sam's parents were Marines. If not, they worked for the Marines. The last thing he wanted was his name being mentioned around possible Marines. Jin did not want his name under the radar. "Dammit, I hope we can get things done quickly and get out of this town," he thought to himself. Jin found himself a seat in the living room and went about his business. Making the two sacks, into one big one. It would make things easier for carrying and for organization of his things. |

Mars continued to trudge through the soaked streets. There were two little rivers running both sides of the streets. He had enjoyed the rain at first, but now soaked, he was just cold and weighed down. He laughed off his mispronunciation of Spirit's nickname, as if he had been in on the joke the whole time. He reminded himself to bug him with it later. Kyle, or Kyte himself did something similar to Samantha's name. He nearly doubled over with laughter. "She's not a man, duh." He managed to eek out when his laughter subsided. Despite his inability to remember words, or perhaps because of it, he was good at finding alternatives. Samantha mentioned the Marine base and he tensed his posture. He didn't say anything about it, though. Kyte then shouted in alarm as to the Agent/Pickpocket. "Huh?" He looked around, the man had simply vanished into the rain. He checked his pockets and his sack. It would be very embarrassing for a pickpocket to get picked. His hands brushed against the strange letter in his pocket. He was almost certain it hadn't been there before. Sometimes he misplaced things and forgot about them, but, he didn't remember handling any pieces of paper recently. Then he remembered doing this to someone else, once, in the days he had been in the Barcelona Boys. His dexterous hands had gotten him hired as a letter carrier. He never knew the contents of the messages, just who he was supposed to give them to. "That's weird, nothing feels missing." He played it off, not wanting to get any questions about the strange letter. Samantha then finally picked one of the houses she called her own. Getting inside the toasty abode, he made sure to shut the door behind him. He stomped his feet a little on the welcome mat and turned around. His stare was immediately drawn to the lady's chest. A vision of heaven filled his eyes. Everything else was forgotten for that brief second. Bringing himself back to the situation, he quickly locked eyes with the woman. He strode towards her, oblivious to everyone in between them. He took off his cloak as he walked. He flashed a wide grin after being thanked. He took Sam's mother's hand in his and brought it to his lips. "It was my pleasure, mam, you may call me Gerard. But, I should have you know, you have raised your daughter to be fine young woman, she handled herself as true hero, today. I did little, but, help her get back. And as for your thanks, a quick bath would be far too much to ask for." Mars had already pegged the father as a wimp, he didn't even seem the slightest bit interested in chiding his daughter. This was going to be interesting. "Oh, no, we have a bath for you to use, it's right down the hall." The beauty's giggles made music in his ears. She pointed behind her. "Could you show me the way? I don't want to ruin your floor any more than I have to, I get lost so easily sometimes." He feigned ignorance, hoping to get her alone. He began to remove his boots, and then his shirt, not caring about the mixed company he was in front of. He wrung them slightly and handed them to the father. Before he followed, he snuck a hand in the sack Jin had been carrying. He could also use the privacy to look at what was been in the boxes. He hid his letter under the box, which he had taken from the Cloak. "You can hang those to dry." Mars dismissively addressed the father and followed the lovely lady to his destination. Sam's mother turned on the bath for him, leaning over to show him which nozzle was which. It was almost too much for him to take. But he needed to work her a little more, still. "Such a fine home you have. I think I will enjoy my bath more than I have, in a long while. I'm not sure I will enjoy this night as much, out in the rain. Do you mind if I stayed?" Mars asked, his voice lowered slightly. He used the question to get close to her. He leaned his head close to her's, still hanging over the bathtub. He took a deep breath filling his lungs with her scent. His bare chest heaved up and down. His passion was hard to contain, so close to her. He bit his lip, and tried not to look down at her chest again. It had been a while since he had been so close to such fine examples of a woman. Sam's mother smiled. Notes

Kyte kept walking along, still ready to help Samantha if she tripped. The man with the gas mask spoke up. "It's Angel, not Angle. You know, those flying white things from Heaven?" Kyte laughed. This certainly was a funny group. Kyte got an irritated look from Samantha as he messed up her name. "It's...Samantha...Sa-man-tha! Not Amanda! Call me Amanda again and you can kiss your gonads goodbye ya jerk!" She growled. It was intended as a joke, and Kyte didn't know what in the bloody hell gonads were, but by the tone of her voice, he was pretty sure he did not want to lose them. He laughed a bit. "Sorry. Mars' joke was simply too good to pass up." She groaned a bit, and started to fall over, he caught her. "Um...thanks..." She said. He smiled a bit as she got a bit embarrassed. Clearly, she was independent, not wanting to rely on those around her. Good. "No problem. You're giving me a place to stay for the night that doesn't smell and doesn't leak. I should be thanking you. In which I'm sure I already did, thanks." Samantha pointed out that they would be arriving soon. "It's over this way, near the Marine headquarters, hope none of you guys are wanted or anything." He smiled slightly. He doubted the government even knew he existed. She then helped comfort him on the fact that Mars might have been pickpocketed...which didn't make sense, because it was still a big deal. "Don't worry about it, I bet he doesn't really have anything important on him, probably just a couple basic paints and a few beli. The loot from the ship, if he actually took any, is probably back on the E'Sule, or maybe even at the apartment." Kyte blinked, but nodded. But why would she trust everyone with that kind of information. Not that Kyte should be worried. He had no need of money. For the moment. They arrived at Samantha's house. Her dad greeted them. "Oh Sam! you're home! We were afraid that you had..." He saw that his daughter was missing an arm. Needless to say, he did not like it. "Oh my god! Honey! Are you okay!? What happened!? Anna! Come here quick! Sammy lost an arm!" Kyte blinked. Samantha's father, though he had every right, was doing what was commonly known on the island of Malertia as "flipping a bitch". He heard a cry from the house. "What?!" A feminine voice said. A woman stepped out. She was completely in contrast to Samantha's father, though he knew that this woman was her mother. Kyte paid no attention to the fact that her breast size was probably Z, which probably wasn't even an existing size. He was not attracted to such things. "Oh god, Sam! Are you alright!? Who are these men!?" Her mother wailed. It would also seem she was flipping a bitch. Before, however, Kyte could answer Anna's question, Samantha saved him. "Don't worry mom, they're friends, if it weren't for them I'd be dead. Thanks to them, a bunch of the merchants on the ship were saved. Couldn't bring in the actual pirate crew, but we slowed them down enough for the marines to have a good shot at catching em, plus we used the ship we went on to take survivors into Loguetown. They even helped me get back to health after I was hurt. Now come on mom, make em some tea or something." Kyte smiled a bit in relief. "Well don't just stand out there in the rain boys, come on in. Is there anything I could get you all for saving my little girl?" "Mooom!" "Oh hush missy, you'll always be my cute little Sammy." Kyte couldn't resist laughing a bit at that. "Thank you for helping Sam, and even taking her home, if there's anything at all we can do for you, feel free to ask." "Don't worry about it. I did nothing to save Samantha, it was all thanks to him..." Kyte pointed at Mars, "...and him. Kyte pointed at Jin. "If you insist, though, you could just let me stay here for the night. I have no objections to food or water, though I don't need them." He then tried introducing himself, but then saw Marine type weapons and a Marine flag. Bad idea. "I'm sorry, uh, where are my manners? I'm Luke." He knew he couldn't possibly be known, but soon he was going to be infamous. Best to have a false name for now. |
