Green liquids oozed down the canals within the sewers, on either sides sidewalks stayed above the liquid a few inches. The cement was slippery, very slippery actually, and if he were walking, he'd most likely not be able to keep his footing. Firo was dragged into the Sewers, yes, yes he was, but by what and who, he was unsure of, only that they lived down here awhile. They made several turns in the sewage line, which didn't seem like much at first, but Firo couldn't even tell when his eyes were closed and when they weren't, it was the same amount of black all around. The only sign he was moving was the clearly uncomfortable feeling of slime on his back and his body arcing in each turn. He wasn't sure how long it had been, he was busy trying to keep his breathing calm, in the angle his body was at, his ribs were still pushing against his organs slightly. His lungs were in the most danger and if he didn't control his breathing he'd die, he's sure he would. Each time he hit a bump, he exhaled as quickly as he possibly could, hoping to deflate his lungs in time to prevent any damage. It had been successful so far. He was becoming more and more fearful of his life, though it was against his nature, it was the fact he was crippled and in the clutch of an unknown man, while being dragged through a sewer. As he slid over a rock, the shock seemed to knock the thought from his mind, his eyes slowly opening, and his usual calm demeanor returning. Just as he was going to attempt a kick to the figure's hand, he felt light washing over him, the heat of false lightning felt almost like that of the sun after being shirtless in the cool sewer. The smell was worse in the increased heat, but now he was able to see the man's hand and parts of his body. Though what he saw shocked him and made him wish one thing, he didn't see what he just did. The man's hands were brown, not from slime or skin, but fur, that covered up all the exposed areas he could see. Firo's left eyebrow rose for a minute as he noticed the long claws on his hands that were wrapped around his leg. He was confused now, he wasn't even sure what was happening anymore. "Wha..What the he-" He was interrupted as a foot connected to the side of his head, almost immediately knocking him out. |

Puffi carried his catch piggyback style excitedly. He tried not to get it very wet, but it was hard in the liquid lands. And his head may have bumped a couple of times along the low ceilings. His friends back home could hear him jabbering on about it. As a proud member of the mole people he had the ability to communicate with others much farther by simply tapping along the sewer's walls. Voice was one of the two things he didn't require much of that sun-lookers relied on, but an almost imperceptible pishi-pishi noise emanated from his mouth. It wasn't necessary, he knew these tunnels well and even if he hadn't, the scraping of his clawed feet were enough to 'light' the way. Standing about 4 feet tall he could easily walk through the tunnels that were all he knew. Despite his short stature he was very strong, easily able to carry the unconscious Firo. Usually his people returned the sunners back to the surface during the over-world's underground time phase. It was of the few understandings they had. But this didn't look like a regular sunner to him. Puffi had squinted hard at him, Firo's pallidity and short stature pointed to the fact that he had been born underground. This looked like the chosen one. During his childhood he had been told of a time of reckoning. A difficult time for his people. There would be murders and deaths followed by plagues. And one day a sunner (Of all things) would appear to the tribe's champion and save his beleaguered people. As his tribe's champion had recently died, this was Puffi's chance. One of the ways to tell the chosen one apart was that he must appear to have been born in the sewers. He was sure this must be him. Puffi arrived at his people's central plaza in the moist lands. If there had been enough light Firo would of been able to see the expansive chamber. Originally it had been an underground bunker built during the lost century. It measured about 400 feet in diameter and the concrete had been almost completely covered by accumulated rubbish and mud. The Mole people did not use landfills as extensively as sunners. This was the 7th chosen one he brought back in the past two moon months. No one was there to greet him. Not letting this bother him he passed all the simple mud domes, where his kin lived, to the central temple. The shaman would have to see the sense in this sunner. But, he would have to pass the trials to make sure. That was fine, Puffi could be patient. After talking it over with Pluffis, the tribe's shaman; it was decided that the sunner must be healed before the trials began. Puffi waited 'day' and 'night' in the small mud annex checking on the sunner's condition and treatment. The shaman's healing consisted of applying several Makus-Makus fecal salves over his body and feeding him nutritious fermented worm grounds. He lit a few candles, a rarity this far down, to help imitate the natural conditions of the sunner. These displayed the temple walls' many scratched writings. Puffi called over the sunner translator every time he thought he saw a flutter of consciousness in Firo. If he was been right about this, he would become the tribe's champion and he could finally win over his one true love, Pishi-Pishi. And then he could lead his people and conquer the Over Gods' world. The Sunner's world. |

Light and Dark melted between the corners of the ceiling and the light of the candles, the first thing the awakened Firo saw. He didn't bother moving, he feared his injuries wold pain him, but he figured something was up. He at first believed he dreamed the whole event and he was somewhere with the Jigsaws resting, like they had planned. And then the mud ceilings and mud walls, and a few shadow covered scratches etched the wall and he just thought Tony was cheap. The taste of something sat upon his tongue, something he had never had in his life and something he hoped never to have again. He thought Zash had been walking on his tongue in lizard form and shuddered at the thought. What had woken him up? The smell of manure sitting on his chest, legs and arms. Of course he thought it was a prank, and as he sat up, his eyes closed, a sigh escaping his lips, his eyes opening and falling onto a small brown man. Firo didn't know how to react to this, he just blinked and opened his mouth to speak, though not a sound came out. He sat there in his shocked state for a few seconds, only the sound of a rough exhale escaping his open mouth. Slowly he slid his arms back and put his body back onto the rock hard bed beneath him. He released a slight huff as he got onto his back and stared at the ceiling, trying to convince himself it was nothing but a dream. His arms crossed on his chest, making an x as he rubbed his shoulders, hoping to get himself awake. His head fell, looking to the left and who was standing there? Yet another, Mole man. Firo was not a man to show off many emotions, anything other than completely calm, slight rage, or a cocky smirk were out of his nature. The fact his smart ass was left dumb founded by the sight of the mole people made him wonder how others would react. His calm expression seemed unphased by the sight of the short mole man to his left, though this one seemed very familiar. He looked back to the ceiling and in his mind, prayed that another man wouldn't be sitting over there. His eyes closed and he tilted his head to the right, looking to an empty wall that had nothing but scratches all over it. He sighed in relief and slid his legs off the bed, to the right and stood up, stretching, and wondering how long he was out. He didn't realize it at first but his legs were healed, and the fact he got up an d didn't feel anything, meant his chest was to. He smiled wide for a second and lifted each leg once off the ground and kicked twice into the air. First things first, for many days and for two fights, he lacked the ability to use his legs, he had to test them out. He looked around, along the right wall, in the far corner, were his grieves, sitting against the wall on their blades. Erasing all traces of a smile he dropped his hands loosely by his side, and with a slight look of focus written onto his face, he moved as quick as he could to the corner. His feet were light and they were stronger than before, he was moving way quicker than he was accustomed to, and where he would have stopped 5 steps away, ended up being a narrowly avoided collision with the wall. His eyes opened wide as he looked at the wall, a mere inch or two away from a face shattering collision. He extended his left hand out and touched the wall, his fingers gently rubbing the wall writing that was almost engraved into his forehead, ribs and several other parts. He slid down the wall on his back, sitting on the hardened floor next to his greaves as he looked at them and smirked. Lazily and easily he slipped his feet into them, the leather straps sitting behind his leg while he stood up and jumped, clicking his heels, the blades ejecting from them, Nat easily standing on them, his right hand on the wall as he kept himself balanced. He wasn't accustomed to the blades yet, and he found walking on them more awkward than anything. He hopped back up a small amount, re-clicking his heels, sending the blades back as he turned to the moles. His equipment was fine and he was feeling better, what exactly did they want from him if not his equipment. With a quick move he moved to them, at a controllable level this time, and stood next to the mole he recognized, an eyebrow raised as he spoke. "What do you want?" |

The two mole people whispered excitedly to each other when Firo got up and walked around. It all sounded like fifi fufu shu puffi fufi. The larger one with his hair in a mohawk and jazzy sunglasses opened with a quiet. "You are sunner-sun? Fififu, yes/no?" He imitated the movement of the sun above ground as his people understood it. At least it appeared to be a he. Mole people had a genderless way of dressing, they all seemed to like football equipment with spikes coming out of them. And plenty of studded leather and fingerless gloves. The one with goggles twiddled his fingers in excitement, almost as if was plotting something. In reality it was that he was calling for the official priest of his people. His impatience got the best of him and he shoved a tray that had been prepared before hand in Firo's face. It had three identical overturned cups on them. Mohawk and Goggles had an angry exchange before a third mole person in a crimson robe walked in and the two hushed. The priest or priestess motioned for the other two to continue. Mohawk composed himself and explained. "One test which are chosen. Fufi-finds the earthworm." Goggles held up the tray for Firo to smell. This trial was to detect if he had mixed Sunner and Mole people traits. |

Firo's eyes fell quickly upon the Mole's attire, the leather clothing and studs really made him wonder what they were like down here. They didn't seem like very bad moles, they seemed confused and misguided to say the most. He drew this conclusion as the mole man called him a "Sunner-sun", obviously he didn't know what a human was and assumed they were "Sunners". Well he guessed that anyway, it was that or it was a joke at his unusually pale complexion, their way of saying he needed sun. Either way, he had nothing to say or do, he carried no ill will towards them, they did just save his life. Firo crossed his arms neatly against his chest as he lightly tapped his foot on the ground. His eyes slowly scanning the room as a tray was plunged towards his face quickly and almost hitting his jaw. His feet slid backwards as he kicked the ground and moved back as quickly as he possibly could. A Tray didn't seem to be the best thing to find in his face now, especially when his injuries finally went away. He lowered his gaze back to the moles with a very unsatisfied look, as he tried to ignore the fact they almost broke his nose. He shut his eyes and exhaled, the crimson circles no longer visible on his face, replaced quickly by the pale skin of his eyelids. He inhaled and his eyes popped open once again and the same cold stare stabbed into the body of the Mole people one by one. His uncaring glare was met with nothing more than their enthusiastic offering of a trial, something about an earthworm. They wanted him to find an earthworm in a cup, which didn't seem to be too hard for him at all. If only one cup hid an earthworm, there had to be a trick he could use. He closed a single eye and let the other fall onto the cups as he examined them, light wouldn't work, they were thick. He couldn't use sight, because he only had a single choice, they wanted him to rely on smell. He still had his sense of touch and he was preparing to use it now on the cups, it was the only way. He slid his hand below the tray, below the cups as he dropped his hand onto them one by one, tapping them to get a vibration. The Cups's vibration would travel perfectly to the bottom of the tray, unaffected by anything, unless something weighed down on it. This was his method of finding the worm and he tried it on each cup twice before he felt he had the right one. He easily lifted up the left most cup, hoping he was correct. |

Puffi, or Goggles, had been tired of being rejected by the tribe's shaman. He had decided to place earthworms underneath all the cups. After Firo picked 'correctly' he quickly tossed aside the tray along with all the cups and they fell on the floor. He didn't expect the shaman to have the acute senses to feel the extra earthworms. He did. "Kupi fufi lupki tutu flippy!!!" The shaman tittered more loudly than usual and smacked Goggles upside the head. He had felt the earthworms start to burrow once they had hit the floor. The test wouldn't count against Firo, but it wouldn't count for him either. Mohawk tired explaining to Firo. "Friend cheats! On more to now." He extended his clawed paw outside, to the main temple. The shaman led the way, with Puffi following holding his head in disgrace and pain. After he left, he forgot to bring a candle with them and dashed back in and grabbed one. The three moles gathered before a large set of stone doors with great large bronze handles at the end of the temple. The next test was the test of snake. The shape of a snake was embedded in the doors themselves. The three moles grunted and pushed open the doors. The heavy slabs refused to move at first but eventually gave way. A rattling sound came from the dark tunnel. If he hadn't taken one, Goggles handed the candle and it's stick holder to Firo. It only illuminated a few feet before everything collapsed into seeming nothingness. The tunnel itself leaned further into the earth, it's walls appeared to be mud with some stone here and there. It was part of a large complex of tunnels. The shaman held his hand out, inviting Firo in. Edited by JOLS, Mar 30 2010, 06:00 PM.

Firo found himself bombarded by constant squeaking as he peered below the cup he had chosen, he was correct. Not even a smirk appeared on his face and he slipped his hands back into his pants pocket and looked at them, not even slight amusement visible. To him it was nothing more than a child's trick, and something anyone worthy of deeming themselves an inventor could've done. He removed his hand from his hair only to flick his hair back form his face as it fell to his eyes, blocking their crimson radiance. Like usual his laid back nature kicked in, and his eyes shut as he began to breathe slowly and with little movement in his chest. He was shirtless like before and the wounds of battle decorated his near colorless skin, exposing the red scar on his back. There were many cuts that were somewhat transparent and others that were obviously deep, and a lot more visible. The previous location of the shrapnel was now covered and thin scratches were around his chest and arms, the main area of impact. He didn't want to examine his body, he'd feel ashamed in his loss and would very likely attempt to escape the underground labyrinth in search of his assailant. His thoughts thoroughly drowned out the mole people, but as they moved, their heavy bodies and steps made it obvious they wanted him to go somewhere else. He peered out of a single eye and looked onto them and followed as directed. He moved elegantly and gracefully across the ground as he tried to figure out his shoes and there abilities. So far he learned that clicking his heels pulled out the blades and made his heels click out on his shoes, hitting the ground and moving him around quicker. He was only experimenting because he didn't care what these people thought about him. Before he had time to use his third click, he was now in front of a rather large set of doors that lead somewhere that made even Firo wonder about exploring it. The first thing he did was study the door, the fact it was thick and so have, even for these rather round set of mole people. The Doors creaked loudly as they opened and a dark tunnel seemed to absorb both the light and his attention with nothing but it's presence. Deep within the cave, a rattling sound filtered through, the only thing able to cut the abyss. He wasn't sure what to do, but he was handed a candle and was being called into the tunnel by their leader. He hesitated and stepped forward, his foot bouncing off a stone on the ground, knocking it aimlessly into the cave. "Damn Crazy moles..." He uttered as he stepped into the shadows, the darkness consuming his body soon enough and hiding his frame from the outside world. If it weren't for the candle he was given, it was very likely he'd be lost in the cave. The rocky tunnel seemed mildly threatening and the fact that it was so smooth on the bottom and lacked stalagmites and stalactites told him something. Usually they would form in a cave like this, or at least it seemed. Looking up, he noticed the tunnel was taller than he expected, all he could see were the rough and circular shapes abandoned by their former tips. The rocky formations actually did exist. Something was down here and as he moved further in he questioned it more and more, wondering what was going on. |

OOC: Okay, enough procrastinating D: As Firo walked in the Moles hurriedly closed the doors behind him. Beyond the closing of the doors, the only other audible sound was the rattling that had started, when the doors were opened. It sounded like a giant baby's rattle. It was coming from further down in the earth. With all the mud and tunnels, it was hard to pinpoint where the sound came from, though. After a several moments in the darkness a sound of great dragging began. The vibrations made by the movement could be felt, even by a sunner. The mud itself began to jiggle. Above the muddy sucking, the rattling could be heard, creeping ever closer and closer. Before anything entered into the candle's range a loud, lispy voice was heard. The voice sounded like this "Hey there, buddy, howya doing?~" The slithering had stopped then began again. At first, a strange round shape was outlined in the darkness. It was large. As it came closer, two small black points appeared, on both sides. The four foot shape was then divided in two, horizontally. "Hey!~ You look human!~ Well, thatsth funny!" The two large shapes separated and spoke, then tipped to the side slightly. The snake's large head must have been about six feet in diameter. It didn't have too much wiggle room in the tunnel. This was noticeable by the scars along it's nose. It was hard to extrapolate how long it was. "Oh! Where are my mannasth? My name'sth Bruceth, what'sth yoursth?"~ The surreal animal introduced himself. Edited by JOLS, Apr 1 2010, 09:23 PM.

Firo walked into the cavern, the candle burning brightly, held in his right hand, as he examined the the few things that stuck out from the darkness. Nothing of importance was visible within the deep tunnel and the fact it was so deep made him wonder what they kept down here. As he gathered his thoughts various sounds began to sound off one by one. Starting with the door behind him, which boomed and echoed loud within the cave, even his clothes vibrating from the sound waves. He turned his head to it and stopped moving for an instant before he sighed and turned back, only to walk towards the sound of a rattle. The tunnel made pinpointing it's location difficult, the sound seemed to come at him from all sides which made him stop moving. His crimson eyes shut for a moment as he attempted to gather himself and find out where it was coming from. He couldn't see to far into the cave, there may have been secret holes in various parts of the cave, other paths that he did not see. The muddy cavern more than just moles, a dragging noise was soon heard which made him realize that. His eyes slowly opened and he took up a stance, his chest now facing the direction his right arm was before, and swiftly he switched hands, the candle now in his left as a figure was slowly appearing. The Circular figure slowly got bigger and bigger as a voice erupted from it's mouth. As it opened it's mouth yet again Instinctively Firo clicked his heels, hopping, and stood atop his blades, finding it easier to balance once his blades cut into the ground. He put the candle on the ground and slipped his hands into his pocket and faced the beast, staring into it with his piercing crimson eyes. He examined him for a few seconds, looking at the scars on his face, mostly around the nose and mouth, and tried to figure out how the hell a snake got so big in a tunnel like this. What did it feed on? The questions would go unanswered as the snake spoke it's name, Bruce. "What exactly am i doing down here, Bruce?" He asked as he stepped forward to it, making awkward steps in his bladed greaves. He kept moving till he was almost in the face of the snake and with his greaves knew even if he tried to eat him, he wouldn't be captured so easily. His feet slid out, shoulder width apart and his hands fell into his pockets as he eyed the snake with a look that didn't change even a bit, he was still calm as ever. The snake's breathing was awkward to him at first, he hated being breathed on, but he need to show he wasn't scared and he wanted information. "I'm Firo Kane, remember it." |

The dark tunnel was dark, really dark, mega dark, in fact. The snake responded to Firo's inquiries. "Well, Firo, I think you're sthupposed to kill me!" The snake seemed to consider the idea rather silly. Or sth-illy. "Or I can eat you, but, I'm not that hungry. I just ate some tasthty mole. Besides, your cute!~" The snake seemed to smile in the darkness. The smell coming from the snake's mouth, was a mole digesting in it's innards. Every time it's mouth opened it's large fangs were gleamed in the candle light. The snake started to move backwards. "Oh, lookths like I must be getting fat. Goin' back is sthoooo tough." The struggling snake shook the chamber as it started to recede back into the uber darkness. |

Firo looked onto the snake's awkwardly scratched scales from the short range, watching it's movements in the flickering light. He had his eyes closed as he spoke, and it did nothing but send rancid smelling odor up into his nose. Firo, once again, showed no reaction to the stench and merely kept his composure as the snake joked, or so he thought. He continued to speak about how he was eating Moles and how he found it so amusing to do so. If anything good came from this speech it was the fact that he was right, though that in itself was a terrible thing. Firo turned his whole body half way and faced the wall as he took a few seconds to think, and dropped his head to the ground at an angle. It was common for him to look to the sky or earth as he thought about a plan of action. opening his right eye, he looked to the moles and gave a slight nod as he turned his attention back to the large snake, whom with every move, rumbled the cave. Firo's feet able to stay still only due to the fact dry mud was the toughest material and his blades easily sunk into them. Without even the slightest bit of hesitation, Firo rocketed himself forward and into the face of the snake, stopping a few inches from his face. "Only because you asked so kindly." He said as he pulled his right leg into his chest and with no form of regret, launched a full speed barrage of kicks at the snake's face. The blades were to do nothing more than help the piercing strength of the kicks, and maybe even cause cuts, through the scales of the large reptile. Firo was only fighting because the snake seemed to threaten the existence of the moles, and the fact that he tried to make a joke in this situation. Killing a snake is easy, though a lot more challenging when they're bigger than you. Sbarramento [/font] |

The ferocious kicks slammed into the snake and he began to shake violently. This triggered the fossils embedded in the walls of the holes. Suddenly they began to flash white light every time they got hit. The fossils looked like the skeletons of fish, evidently this area had once been home to fish, who had glowing skeletons. That glowed or turned off when you hit them. "HEY!!~ You meanie!" The snake shouted and started to snake it's way back into the passage. It was so fast it almost seemed to be pulled by a giant out of the tunnel. The passage itself was no longer super dark, but, lit by the retreat of the snake. On closer inspection, there were all sorts of fossils that lit the way, not just fish. Even one that looked like it might have been a panda wrestler man. All the tunnels the snake snaked through were now lit, creating a simple trail along the many tunnels. "You'll find me harder to kill than that!" A voice similar to the snake, but much deeper, seemed to come from all directions. A few off the fossils began to tremble and fall out of the walls. Their eerie shapes reforming and standing up. They seemed to whisper to each other and smile at Firo. They all attempted to get close to him, innocuously at first. They began to laugh if they got close. |

Firo looked onto the snake's face for little over a second, as his kicks landed and seemed to cause a cave in. The large snake hissed loudly and with a single insult, seemed to vanish from the tunnel all together. Dropping his leg back onto the ground, evading hitting any of the fossils, he sighed once and gazed into the tunnel ahead. The snake was a lot quicker than he originally lead on to be, and his problems when it came to movement were not nearly as severe as he thought. The scars he had could've been from moving at that speed, not the slow pace he showed earlier. "Running...from me?...i like this serpent." Firo let a smirk split his face as he chuckled to the ground, his eyes shut again, only to open them to the sight of crawling fossils. Firo blinked and stared blankly at the ground, left a little surprised at them as they moved steadily towards his feet. Kicking off the ground and moving backwards he moved away from the glowing pieces of rock quickly and easily, backing up to the moles once more and looking to them. "...What Exactly, am i supposed to do." |

The glowing skeletons creeped closer. For an unfathomable reason, they did it sideways, it only helped magnify their malice. Their whispers became intelligible after Firo spoke. "No one likes you, Firo, you will die alone. Kekeke." Their laugh was that of bones clacking against each other. At this moment they leaped at him, seeing as they could not get back at him at their pace. When Firo looked back, at first he could not see much, but as the skeletons got close they illuminated the fact that the heavy stone doors had been closed. "No one can help you now!" The dread skeletons taunted in unison as they began to attack with their various spiny bones. Their light had turned a blood red as they raged. The narrow nature of the tunnel only meant that a few could attack Firo at any given moment without being crowded into each other. Beyond quick jumps, the skeletons didn't seem to be very agile, their age seemed to have slowed them. |

Up until now, he thought one of the moles had come down with him, obviously he was incorrect. The bastard moles left him in their to die, to rot or maybe this was just yet another "trial" they set up for him. He was now beginning to wonder what exactly these backwards mole people really even wanted from him. He shut his eyes and got onto his toes for a moment before he came back down, now was not the time to try out a new technique. Reopening his eyes, he had only a single thing he could do, and that was to fight. Firo swayed the oncoming attack with ease and merely blinked as he did so, looking onto the skeletons with a hint of surprise. With his sway bringing him so low, he lost a little balance and because of that, was forced to back up. He flipped horizontally and landed perfectly, readjusting his posture as he slipped his hands back into his pocket. Not only was it still a little surreal to have a group of skeletons attacking him, he was having more and more trouble balancing on his skate blades. Jumping up and clicking his heels, he easily got the blades tucked back into position. Now comfortable and on his feet once again, he looked to the skeletons with a very calm gaze, officially done with being shocked by this tunnel. The blood red light in the tunnel would only make it easier for him to find out where he was headed and what he was aiming for. He could see the tunnel was a straight line, which meant he could easily move top speed back and forth without much worry of hitting some hard object. Moving backwards quickly and at quite a high speed, clearly showing he was ready to go get serious. A mere second after the backwards movement, his feet brought him forward, travelling as quickly as he could and performing a fly kick into the crowd of skeletons, he wasn't even sure how far it would go, but he hoped he could take down at least one. |
