OOC: Me and Lupa both wrote this in Chatango Sam took some time to take a look at the girl Mars 'killed' and found she was still alive, just barely, and unconscious. She ripped off a large chunk of her jacket and wrapped it around the wound. She figured the pirate Mars stabbed wouldn't live just because of that, but at least now she had a chance. She sprinted off in an effort to catch up to Mars. Sam ducked with him through reflex and then peeked over at the pirates, saying something like. "Yeah... but we can't just leave them alone." After she noticed the sailor getting tortured like that. "They'll kill tons of innocent people." "Sailors can jump off the boat, just like I can; besides, the Marines will be here any second now. And I can't just give them my boat." Mars whispered back. "What? The Marines are coming? Already!?" Samantha looks back at Mars skeptically. Mars hoped the neer'do wells didn't hear her. "They have to have a den-den aboard, one of my friends was communicating with someone on the ship before. And I saw a lot of marine patrols along these trade routes as I sailed down here. It would be strange if they didn't have that this close to major a city." Mars elaborated, attempting to reason with the fire cracker. Samantha grit her teeth and clenched her fists. "Damnit..." It seemed like she was already thinking a lot like a pirate "Even so won't it take a while for them to get here? These guys could wind up killing over a dozen sailors by that time" "Maybe, just for a little while, we could try and hold them off, keep them from hurting any innocents..." She said, suddenly she could hear a mousy voice down the hall, and a big burly voice. Was it the big pirate guy? "We can take a couple back ourselves, but I'm not risking getting killed over strangers. Or captured again, either." Mars saw Mouse confront Birko. It seemed his hand was forced, he would have to get involved now. He looked around him to see if there was anything to throw at the pirates and distract them for a second. He grabbed a piece of ship. It was probably a chunk of plank that had been thrown in the collision. As he pulled back his arm to throw, a group of ten more pirates, all armed with various wicked looking melee implements, ran up to their captain from the lighted passage. "Can't find the loot, Big Brother!" Birko was distracted for a second by his crew. Mars watched, realizing that there were probably another 100-150 pirates crawling all over the Lube and the 70 foot pirate ship. He knew pirates tended to over-crew their ships, it allowed them to use faster and more mobile vessels than marines or merchants used, but, still be able to overwhelm them in a boarding. So, for all he knew, there could be even more. And he had to assume most of them would fight to the death if they saw their captain attacked. Mouse took the opportunity to make a break for it, he had just risked his life to try and get the gedgaws onto L'Esule. He was tired of being pushed around his whole life, he had to beat Birko somehow. He wasn't going to just give all the loot away. When he turned around he saw the business man had grabbed the sack, after Jin had thrown it back in, and was trying to break down another door to escape. He managed to barrel through the door and Mouse chased after him. "Snowball, go after Algernon; Mittens, find that guy in the suit that just ran." Birko quickly instructed the two wolverine style first mates, whiskers drawn on their faces. "Me and the boys will take care of this fool." He referred to Jin, now alone. The first mates slipped past Jin, barely registering to Mars' sharp eyes. Snowball and Mittens Seeing as how Jin was about to get pummeled by the pirates, Mars swallowed his fear and threw the piece of wood. All of the pirates turned to stare at him. "Oh look at that! The Marines just arrived!" Mars pointed down the hall he had just come from, and laughed. Birko's and a lot of the pirates' faces registered shock for a second. Samantha sat behind Mars looking irritated, it seemed like everything was going to hell. From the sounds of things it seemed like Mars' friends were on the opposite side of the enemy pirates. Maybe if they were lucky Mars' bluff would work. Even so, Samantha got ready to jump out and fight. She felt like she had an odd form of respect for Mars, and she would try her best to protect her new friend. "I probably have just enough time to kill a few more sailors." Birko laughed back. The group of ten pirates split in two and lunged after both Mars and Jin. Birko decided he didn't much like Mars, even less than Jin, and ran after him, too. Among the six that went after Jin, three had scimatars, one had a chain with a grappling hook, one a boarding axe and the last a small combat hammer. They attempted to surround him before attacking, knowing that more of their crew would come around sooner or later. They felt they could take their time with him. Among the four that went after Mars two had boarding axes, one had a pistol and the fourth a scimatar. Mars felt like now was as good a time as ever to get back to his ship. He kicked the crate he had been hiding behind, hoping to trip some of the baddies up. He made a dash for home, hoping he remembered the right way back. Birko and his 'boys'

Jin stared at the two cat-like pirates walking towards him; he looked behind them to see the captain. The commanding officer of the pirates turned over to a voice that spoke up with other men running with him. He could see that there was about a dozen or so pirates that crowded the captain. It seemed there was trouble at hand for them. The Kilah male analyzed the other pirates that were wielding various weapons that could kill with ease. ”Well, I can’t fight all of these guys alone… I hope Rat-“ his thought stopped in mid sentence. Jin noticed that Mouse had just taken off after the sack, and the business man. Jin sighed, not realizing what he just did and just assuming Mouse had made a run for it. The male cursed under his breath, as he listened to the captain instruct his soldiers. They had odd names that related to kittens, but he knew that he had no time to think of such things. Jin prepared himself, as he watched the two seemed to have disappeared in a blink of an eye. He barely saw them running towards them. Jin had barely any time to react, as he braced himself for an attack. Jin was constantly wary and aware of his surroundings and knew that these pirates could always attack him out of nowhere. But then he felt relieved once the cat-like pirates ran right past him. He cursed to see that the attention was now diverted to him. He looked at the Captain and his crewmen. They seemed vicious enough to worry about. He cracked his neck, sparing no words, he slowly moved himself into his Kilah stance. This was the basic stance in which the Kilah style fighter fought. Jin’s left foot was forward along with his left arm straight out in about a hundred-ten degree position. His right foot was about shoulder length behind his other foot, with his heel raised, ready to push off the foot and use it as an accelerator. Jin’s right arm was straight up with his hands blocking between his left cheek and chin. His body was facing the side, giving less open spots when fighting face to face. Jin left his hands open ready to hit them with his palm or fist. Then all of a sudden saw all of the pirates turn behind them to look at a man speak up. His voice was very familiar, it was Mars! He could see Mars behind a crate, with what seemed like another person behind him. He could barely tell before the captain laughed and the attack had started. Jin saw six pirates running at him, he knew that he couldn’t take on all six of them by himself, but he knew that he could take a couple of them out. He was lucky that this hallway had different things like crates and barrels, along with a small width. They would have to pass his arms’ reach if they wanted to go behind him to surround him. Jin knew he could take out the first few that came up to him, run for a little to catch up to Mouse, and fight the rest on the way. Jin’s priority was the treasure that they were putting in so much work for. ”Come and get me punks!” he instigated the pirates, and the pirate with a boarding axe was the first to rush at him. The axe-wielding pirate went for a wide, horizontal arc swing. Jin already slightly bent knees, crouched with ease as he dodged the killing blow. ”Kilah Basic Impetus” he muttered under his breath, as he focused his inner energy to strike the axe pirate with a fist. The attack had struck the pirate in the stomach and he would feel a strong bruise in the inside of his stomach. He followed the attack with an elbow to a pirate with a scimitar. Jin then noticed that they were trying to surround him, as one of the other pirates with the scimitar tried to run past him. Jin responded quickly and took couple steps back, facing the man trying to go behind him. He then looked over to the remaining pirates. Jin didn’t have a choice but to fall back for now. He started to dash towards when Mouse and the business man had escaped. He would simply follow the trails of rubble, and it would sooner or later lead to them. Jin had not thought of the fact that he could be getting himself cornered where Mouse was going. As Jin made a run, the pirate with the grappling hook started to swing the hook and then launched it ahead of the other pirates towards the running male. Jin felt one of the hooks of the grappling hook grazed his right forearm. Jin looked down at his forearm, to see that he had gotten cut and his jacket sleeve had been torn. ”I have to get that fixed up when I get back to the ship,” he thought to himself, as he felt blood dripping down his hand. |

Samantha sprung up out of her hiding place with Mars. Mars quickly knocked over the two crates to stumble the pirates headed towards them, spilling their contents on the floor, tripping up the pirates headed towards us. Mars then quickly dashed back the way she and him came, apparently trying to get to the ship. Samantha looked back briefly and yelled to him "You get back to your ship Mars! I'll try to hold off these guys for a while!" This all happened, of course, in very quick succession The first thing to happen, was that Mars knocked over the crates just in time to stumble the pirates heading towards us excluding the captain who was behind the grunts, walking casually. one of the pirates with the boarding axes dropped it on the ground as he fell on his face. The other pirate with a boarding as stumbled a bit, but didn't fall, and kept a grip on his axe, the same story with the pistol-wielder. The man with the scimitar was on the right, and hadn't stumbled at all, being just a little farther behind the other pirates. After that was when Mars ran off back to the ship and Sam yelled her message to him Samantha's first order of business was to take out the pirate with the strongest weapon, the pistol wielder. She took a step towards him and grabbed the arm holding the pistol. She put her hands on either side of his elbow, his arm facing upward, and brought the arm down on her knee, snapping it like a twig on the elbow, causing him to drop his pistol and scream in agony. While Samantha did this, the other man who had stumbled had already regained his composure, and the man with the scimitar had climbed over the crates, stepping forward to attack Sam. Sam had taken into account the effects the crates had on the others, and left the man who's arm she had just broken alone for now, turning around and punching the large man with the boarding axe on the left in the gut, while her right hand rose up to parry the man with the scimitar, her iron fore-arm meeting with the steel blade. Her arm was relatively undamaged from her parry aside from a bit of a scratch, and so she pushed the blade away from her and the wielder simply looked at the 12 year old in shock. Frankly Samantha could probably take these guys on her own, but the captain that was walking over to her she had a much different idea about. Hopefully she'd be able to take out the grunts before the captain caught up with them. "Come on is that all you pirates got!? Jesus christ guys! I got more balls than you and I'm a freakin 12 year old girl!" "You're a girl?" the man with the scimitar replied, in even more shock. The angry vein in Sam's forehead twitched as the man said that, and she screamed out in fury. "Yes! I! Am! A! Girl!!!" She screamed as she grabbed the man she had stunned earlier with her attack, and let out a loud yell of effort and frustration as she lifted him off the ground, and threw him with all the force she could muster at the man who had so foolishly confused her gender, knocking them both to the ground. While they were knocked down, she pounced the man who questioned her gender and punched him in the head as hard as she could over and over again, repeating the phrase "I'm a girl!" Over and over again. The man who had fallen had gotten up by now, and grabbed his axe. He swung hard and heavy on the cyborg, who was still with her back to him as she punched the now very unconscious man even more. The axe fell on here back. The attack wasn't aimed very well, and didn't cut too deep luckily, but it still left a large gash and ruined Sam's favorite jacket. She yelped, her body numb to the pain for a short while before it finally kicked in, causing her to fall forward and groan in pain. "Gaah! You f***ing god***n piece of sh*t! I'll f***ing kill you! You stupid #@$%#@$%*# #@$%*#@$(*%*$#(*%$ Hippopotamus %$#$*%(@#$@)$!)#@*@(%@#$%(#*$% piece of $@#*$#@%(*&#@$!!!!!!!" The men she was fighting suddenly went silent... Until the man who gave her the gash spoke up "What the hell!? Do you kiss your f***ing mother with that mouth little missy!? You sound like a f***ing pirate!" Sam looked back at her assailant looking very irritated, and then punched him in the balls "Shut up f***face! And yes! For your information I 'do' kiss my mother with this mouth!" She yelled out, spitting on him while he writhed around on the ground holding onto his horribly injured sack. The captain couldn't help but burst out laughing, giving Samantha extra time to try and cover her wound. It wasn't fatal, but it hurt like hell, and it would slow her down a lot, especially if she lost anymore blood. It was time to retreat, but before running off after Mars, Samantha raised her left arm up at the captains direction, balling her hand into a fist and then sticking out her middle finger in her direction, causing him to stand there with an eyebrow raised. "Finger Bang!" She yelled out, as the tip of her finger opened up to reveal a chamber, and 6 bullets were shot out in the captains direction, four of them finding their mark. With a man that large and strong, it probably wouldn't cause too much damage, but it might slow him down a little from the blood loss and pain. Samantha quickly turned around and ran as fast as she could. Frankly it seemed like her plan with her final attack had backfired, and the captain was now chasing after her at full speed, apparently very pissed "Shit, shit, shit, shit, shit, shit, shit, shit, shiiiit!" Sam was, fortunately, much faster than the captain, and both of them were wounded roughly the same amount in relation to their durability and stamina. Sam with a gash on her back, and the enemy captain with the same plus four bullet wounds. With her speed there was no way she'd catch up with Mars, but went down the route she thought would lead to the ship. Though as was said before, navigation wasn't really her thing... Samantha found herself at a dead end, desperately looking for a way out of the situation "Um... uh... F**k..." She turned around and faced the enemy captain, smiling nervously "So like uh... you know the whole finger bang technique was just a joke and stuff... you realize that right?" Instead of listening to Sam's story, the captain continued walking towards her, his outfit soaked in blood now. He cracked his knuckles and scowled at her, walking closer and closer. Eventually Sam made a break for it, trying to run past him, unfortunately he managed to grab hold of her left arm, squeezing it tight enough for her to hear and feel the metal inside bending and creaking. "Nowhere to run now kid..." He said, grinning to himself a bit. Samantha looked extremely annoyed and merely muttered to herself "Damnit, I really liked that arm..." She said before her arm suddenly came apart from her shoulder and she continued running, leaving her left arm behind with the captain who threw it aside, growling angrily as he started running after her again. As Samantha ran through the halls for her life, she couldn't help but pray that something would happen that would get her out of this mess! She also thought about how weird she looked... A 12 year old girl running through the halls of a ship with a missing arm, being chased by an 8 foot tall mountain of muscle... Weird... OOC: If any of you guys want you can hop in and save my ass XD Or if you want you can just let Sam try and find her own way, she'll probably make it eventually... maybe... Please help o_O... |

Sam decided to take a stand against the pirates and said so to Mars. "Don't be too long!" Mars shouted back, cool as a cat in an ice cream bowl. He admired Sam's pluckiness, but inside was deeply worried about her. He wasn't the type to magnify other people's worries with his own, though. Besides, he got the feeling he couldn't dissuade her or even physically remove her. As Mars started down the hall his mind raced. He had remembered most of the way back pretty well, Mars' visual memory was strong. Strong enough to take in a face and then reproduce it later on canvas, also strong enough to run through a ship, run back while being chased by pirates, and come out the other side in One Piece. The many doors he passed all looked similar, it was the shape of the halls that were different. But with all the things strewn about it was harder to tell to recognize them. After after turning a couple corners he noticed footsteps behind him. Had she finished or changed her mind? Either way, he had to go back and get her. The thought of the young girl facing off against the pirates sickened him. The idea that he had left her behind sickened him even more. He stopped and so did the footsteps behind him. It had sounded like a few more this time around. Mars put down his satchel and popped open a canister of primer with his rapier. He dipped his brush in the sticky white substance and turned around. He was ready for anything, his rapier in right and brush in left. A trio of pirates had followed him, they smiled amongst each other like teenage pranksters about to pull a fast one. "Gonna paint us a pretty picture?" One pirate taunted, idly tossing his dagger from hand to hand, like an idiot. It was common for people to look at hands, and not your face in a fight. Mars imagined the young pirate was trying to get one over on him, with the technique. What he didn't realize, was that his feet also gave away which side he would strike from. This was one of the many bellicose lessons Mars' learned growing up with his best friend on Anolecrab. A Gorgonzola of all things she had joined the Condotierre before the coup, but, had never truly supported it. It was her that had taught him how to use his fencing weapon. The other two pirates circled slowly like lions, approaching an injured gazelle. As long as they didn't realize that the situation was actually reversed, this would be simple for Mars. The naivety of youth, he sighed inwardly. They didn't seem disciplined enough to use group tactics. If they tried to all strike at the same time, Mars imagined they would end up clipping each other. He could probably disable them without any kills, he thought. The one to his left lunged with a sword almost as thin as his. He parried the first blow and ducked. "Impasto Gesso di Sfumato!" Mars shouted and slapped on some gesso on the man's legs. He used his brush to block an attack coming from the man with the dagger, the knife caught Mars' hand, but, now the pirate's hand was covered in the gesso, as well. They were both stuck to each other. Seeing his chance, the third pirate joined in and tried clobbering him with the butt of his blunderbuss. With all the adrenaline pumping from his kidneys, Mars pulled downward sharply on the captured pirate's arm and used his body to block the blow. The pain on his now bleeding hand was great. The gesso became stuck to the third pirate's gun. He noticed growing frustration on the three's faces. He hopped backwards to get on his feet, the two captives getting dragged along. Mars chopped the brush in two, severing their connection and decided now was as good at time as any to get away. The one with gesso on his legs simply tripped and fell while the other two couldn't quite get coordinated enough to give proper chase. As Mars continued to the next intersection, he saw Sam come barreling down the opposite hall as fast as she could, sans left arm. The pirates continued to struggle amongst themselves. "Ah! Come on, this way!" Mars shouted, happy to see her alive. Just then, a rather strange thing happened. The boat began to tilt slightly, dipping in towards the bow. The change was rather sudden, the boat had been slowly sinking almost imperceptibly, till now. Outside, the ropes tying L'Esule to the Lube lifted the former up from the water. It acted as a slight counter-balance, for the moment. The Lube was now at an angle of about 10 degrees. It took more energy to walk and running was also much harder. At least, in the direction Mars was headed. It wouldn't be too much farther, either. Mars hopped downwards to get to Sam, and helped her if she had trouble running or walking. "I'm sorry I left you back there. I'm also sorry I didn't get to see what you did to the other guy." Mars grinned widely and tried to lighten the situation, as well as his shame, with some humor. With all his injuries and a life at the bottom of the sea at hand, Birko decided it was time to call it a day, and began retreating towards his ship. A lot of the pirates on the Lube did the same. Meanwhile, The plucky protagonists were almost to the L'Esule, Mars noticed the door they had taken to get into the lower deck. Mars tried opening it, but it wouldn't budge. "Sam, can you help me with this?" Mars inquired towards the warrior girl. He hoped Jin was okay and on L'Esule by now. If not, they might have to go back into the sinking ship. The exception to the deserting pirates would be Mittens and Snowball. Mouse and the Business man had found themselves in a kitchen. After some snooping, the twins had found the two, as well. It was a rather spacious kitchen, befitting of such a large ship. It had several counters, all along the walls; filled with food, dirty dishes, and different tools and utensils. Mouse and the Business man were facing each other across one of the central counters in the middle of the kitchen, one of several, designed for preparing cold dishes. Every time Mouse went left, his quarry mirrored him. Mouse could of thrown the daggers he had in each hand, but, was looking forward to sticking the slippery little rat. The two twins walked in. The ship shook and tilted. Unfortunately for Mittens, he was standing right in front of a rack, full of different type of knives. Most of them fell on him before he could move out of the way. This kind of upset Snowball. He spoke for the first time in several days. "ALGERNON! I'M GOING TO EAT YOUR LIVER!" The blood lust blinded Snowball to everything around him, as he had chosen Mouse to blame for this fault of fate. Having been feeling more suicidal than usual today, Mouse didn't feel an ounce of fear. As long as the sack got to L'Esule, he could make up for all the shit he endured. That would be his ticket out of Loguetown. Or maybe it was the tired delirium from not having slept and the painful beating he had received. Seeing as how Jin would have to pass through the kitchen to get back to L'Esule, his last action before Snowball crossed the entire length of the kitchen, in an instant was to plunge both daggers into the business man, having fallen across the counter in the bucking of the ship. He hoped Jin saw the sack, as Snowball simply bawled in the kitchen after killing Mouse. His grief consumed him, he just wanted to go down with the ship, at this point. Besides, he had carried out his captain's orders. |

Jin followed through a broken door, assuming that Mouse and the businessman had gone through. He saw a piece of paper with some saliva and the corner ripped off. It was probably one of the papers from the sack, and Jin decided to follow through the door. He could see a trail of knocked down things, as he looked down the hallway. At the end of the hallway, he could see double push doors, that looked from the outside a kitchen. Then all of a sudden he could hear behind him footsteps. There seemed to be that one guy with the grappling hook and two guys with scimitars. There was a guy missing, and he wondered where he had gone. He probably had gotten lost because it seemed these guys were pretty worn out. Jin guessed that these guys were having a hard time catching up with him in the maze of hallways and doors, as he turned around to see them. "You guys chose a wrong time to come back!" he exclaimed, as he ripped the sleeve covering his forearm. It was more red than the ripest apple. The Kilah male grinned, as he started to go back into his Kilah fighting stance. Except this time he was crouching a little, and before one could tell there was something wagging behind him. It was a black furry tail, that would seem to be coming out where Jin's tail bone was. He was crouched down like a monkey and it would seem his hair had gotten much thicker white with some black in it. "Watch out! He uses some kind of internal attack, so watch out for your vital organs!" one of the more intelligent pirates told his companions. Jin smirked and looked at the three pirates in front of him. It seemed they had better coordination this time. The pirate with the grappling hook threw it aimed at his body, hoping to hit a target. Jin had simply jumped into the air and dodged it, he landed on the chain link that connected the hook to the handle. He grabbed the chain and pulled it towards himself, before the enemy pirate would know what happened, he was flying through the air towards Jin at alarming speed. Jin side stepped, and let his right fist fly straight towards the incoming enemy's face. His face would have many bruises and possible fractures. He was sprawled on the ground without much life in him. The monkey man looked at the two remaining pirates, as they stood there in shock seeing that all their partner's injuries were external and not internal. This confused them, and also it confused them that Jin had a tail and had seemed to get stronger from the last encounter. "You guys still want to fight?" he asked the two as they seemed a bit nervous. One decided to retreat, seeing as he was no match for Jin. The last remaining swordsman pirate rushed at him slicing downward at him. Jin had quickly sidestepped avoiding the attack, and went for a hook to the face. The other pirate had dodged it by couple inches, but as his forearm passed by the pirate, Jin's blood splattered over his face. The blood blinded him, and the pirate started to trip out, thinking Jin had done a weird blood attack. The last remaining pirate started to swing rapidly and incorehently. Jin took this as a chance to wait for him to retract his blade and swing again. He quickly ran up close to his opponent, creating no space for the pirate to swing his blade. "Breaking Knee Point!" he said, as he grabbed the pirate's head and hopped up from his spot to deliver a dangerous knee right to the face. Jin heard something crack, as he let go and stood back up. He returned back to his normal form, as he looked around him to see the two men that were brutally hurt. Then all of a sudden, he felt himself stumble backwards a little almsot tripping over one of the pirates on the ground. "I need to get out of here, this ship is about to sink!" he thought to himself, as he looked over to the kitchen doors. Jin walked over to the double doors leading to the kitchen and slowly walked in. He saw a huge mess, there was one of the quick cat-like pirates lying dead in a pool of blood and knives. He could see one of the other cat-like brother weeping to himself, as he saw on a counter the body of his rodent acquaintance and the businessman he had been chasing. Jin saw the sack lying next to the door, it looked like he had to get through the feline pirate to get the sack. He started to walk over to the weeping male, and it seemed he paid no attention to him. The feline pirate looked up at him, and didn't even care who he was. It seemed Snowball had no thought of fighting and simply kept weeping. Jin took this as fate's gift and walked over to the sack. He heaved it behind his shoulder and started to walk past the single door. It leaded down a hallway with the end with stairs leading to the top. Jin could see sunlight at the end of the hallway. The Kilah male stepped up onto the deck of the slowly sinking ship. Jin carried the sack up to the deck, and looked around. The sea breeze smelled nice and it felt good to be in the fresh atmosphere. Jin walked over to where an odd male had greeted them in the beginning of this whole ordeal. The rope was still fixed against a barrel that barely moved. The ship didn't sink enough for the barrel to roll off, Jin took this opportunity to get off the Albatross and onto the L'Esule. He carried the sack with his left hand and held onto the rope with his right. Using his feet for support on the rope, he threw the sack onto the L'Esule's deck when he was about three yards up from the L'Esule. Soon, he made it upon the deck and found himself carrying the sack to the hammock where he had slept last night. Jin laid himself on the hammock and let himself swing a little. It seemed Mars was not here, and Mouse was killed. He just laid on the hammock waiting for the captain to return, he would feel dirty if he were to leave without even waiting. |

OOC: Sorry it's taken me so long to post, but I'm here now and I'll try harder to not be lazy. (was busy listening to Disturbed and watching por-err... Clash of the Titans... yeah... >_>) Sam continued running down the halls of the ship frantically, it was hard to keep balance with only one arm but she managed. Eventually she came to a T-shaped hallway, hearing a sudden call from a familiar voice. "Ah! Come on, this way!" Mars shouted to her. Sam quickly changed direction, then lost her footing as the ship began to tip over, which tripped over the hulking enemy captain chasing her as well. "Whoa!" She shouted out as she fell on the floor. Mars however, was kind enough to run to her and help her back up, saying "I'm sorry I left you back there. I'm also sorry I didn't get to see what you did to the other guy." Mars grinned widely as he apparently tried to lighten the situation, as well as his shame, with some humor. "Yeah, you shoulda seen the guy I punched in the balls" Samantha said, grinning maliciously and giving Mars the invisible message: "Don't worry about it". With all his injuries and a life at the bottom of the sea at hand, Birko decided it was time to call it a day, and began retreating towards his ship. A lot of the pirates on the Lube did the same. Samantha smirked, looking back at them and sticking out her tongue. While her and Mars hadn't really 'won', it seemed like for now at least it was a tie, or at least a cease-fire. Soon Samantha and Mars came to an unfortunate blockade, a wooden, locked door. "Sam, can you help me with this?" Mars said casually to the cyborg girl. Samantha bit her lips nervously, normally yeah, it wouldn't be a problem, but with a whole arm missing she had lost a lot of leverage and power. She smiled at Mars nervously "Yeah, of course!" She said before trying to kick down the door. Instead of kicking it down, unfortunately she only managed to push herself back and down onto the ground. She jumped back up on her feet and growled at the door, punching it again and again with her remaining arm. Eventually finally breaking it down after a series of frustration-driven blows. Sam looked at her handiwork and smiled, panting. "See? *pant* No problem. *pant pant*" Sam started running forward towards the L'Esule, hoping she hadn't lost some of Mars' respect. She had used a lot of her fuel fighting the other pirates and running from the captain, plus her left arm was gone and took away a bunch of leverage. Then there was the blood loss from the wound on her back which made her feel much weaker. With all this she was probably working at half capacity if not less. She slid down the rope onto the L'Esule before sitting down to rest and wait for Mars to come by and cut the rope or untie it. |

The sun was still high, just not as much as it had been before. Because the massive Lube an Ass was sinking, the ropes tying L'Esule to it were no longer leaving the smaller boat hanging in the air. A number of sailors were adrift in the waters surrounding both vessels. They clung to all manner of objects, all trying to get far away enough from the Lube, before it went under completely. The ship had evidently been dangerously overloaded, the crash with the pirate's own ship was only the newest factor to help it lose it's buoyancy. It was a good thing everyone had found themselves on the higher deck. If they had been on the bottom deck, they would have had to of fought pirates, and an sudden interior tide. A few of the sailors had made it to L'Esule itself, assuming it was a pirate vessel that had been abandoned, after the Albatross began sinking. Mars followed Sam onto the highest deck, that of the atmosphere. Sam herself had all the atmosphere of a gruff soldier, playing down their injuries. He watched Sam slide down the rope. The thought of leaving conveniently reminded him that he had left his paints on board. With a shrug directed at no one but himself, he ran up to the rail, shouting for Jin. After receiving confirmation he calculated the jump down. The sinking of the Lube had left the decks of both ships closer to each other. It looked to Mars like he could make it. He ran back a distance. With a quick reassurance to himself that he wasn't going to die, he took a big breath of maritime air and sprinted towards stern and bow. When he got to the rail he reminded himself not to put too much pressure on his left hand. With a quick and foolish vault in to the gap, he felt air rush past his ears, and looked down at L'Esule's rapid approach. He extended both arms outward to try and correct his landing. A quick panic filled him as he realized it was impossible to avoid hitting his boat's side. He closed his eyes instead. He landed with a sudden thud and all he knew for that moment was pain. That, and it didn't seem like he had slid into endless sea. He felt water on his legs, but his upper body just felt bruised from the unforgiving wood of his boat. He lay there for a second, trying to catch some of the air that had escaped his lungs. After some of the pain subsided he tried getting up. It felt like he had cracked a rib or two. He tried to find a corner to speak privately with both Sam and Jin. "Jin, this is Sam, she saved both our asses up there. Where's Mouse?" Mars whispered. He looked at both of them, noting any injuries on them both, with worry written on his face. "Looks like we're going to have to break the oars out, I don't think this boat can go backwards." Mars addressed both Jim, Sam and all the sailors who had made it aboard. He slid his rapier out of it's sheath. He walked over to L'Esule's bow and took as swift a chop as he could, as swift as possible with his new injuries, at the ropes still joining both vessels. His sword bit into the fibers, but, didn't finish the job. He swung a few more times at the ropes, and they were soon floating freely. He waddle-limped over to the oars and picked up a pair himself. With a grunt he found himself on the deck and ripped off a piece of cloak to bandage his left hand. With a bit more he tied it to the oar. Before he could start rowing, a sailor that had climbed aboard took the oars from Mars and began rowing himself. "I can handle that, you look like you could take yourself a rest. Do you work on the upper deck? I don't recognize you." The sailor queried. "Oh, thanks. Yeah, I'm just a clerk, really. Do any of you guys know how to undo the sails? We should try to pick up some more men, but I don't want the pirates to come back and claim their ship. And it looks like the Marines are here." Mars' jacket still on, he pretended this wasn't his boat. He hoped the ruse would convince the sailors that he hadn't come aboard to steal things. He shrouded his eyes against the sun and looked out at the horizon. Opposite the direction towards Loguetown, a pair of Marine ships flew their flags. Whether they were just sailing by or had been called, they would have to stop to help pick up shipwrecked survivors. "We can probably be in Loguetown in a couple hours. I want to tell my family I'm alright before they hear about what happened." Mars continued, hoping the others would fall for his fake reason to leave before the marines got there. The other sailors murmured in agreement. He checked himself to make sure he didn't have any paint visible on himself. At least a couple must have noticed the changed name, despite the distracting gravity of the situation. He walked into L'Esule's cabin, reminding himself again to clean up later, it was still rank with the funk of several nights of drinking. The sea's air hadn't managed to put much dent in the smell. He made sure the sack of loot was well hidden from anyone who came in and he sat down on it. *** Despite the damage sustained, the ripped piece of paper, torn from the Business Man's mouth has the following legible on it: Section of 'Logian East Blue Trade Company' Secret Charter There is also what look like notes that were added later and a bright red circle around the section on juniors with the following: Added Notes The **** section has been crossed out completely with ink. The tightly nailed boxes from the man's room are themselves are filled with reddish powder. They are tightly wrapped inside many layers of different types of packaging. it looks just like an expensive spice, but is actually an illicit drug that has recently become very popular in Loguetown. |

The Kilah male sat on the hammock with the bag of loot next to him. He watched over it carefully, as random sailors started to board the ship. One by one the sailors boarded, Jin observed them helping each other with injuries that they had. It seemed even though their ship was falling, they were still intact as a crew. A couple of sailors came up to Jin and asked a couple of questions. He wasn’t really sure what to tell them, as he had blood dripped down his arm. The sailors speaking to Jin stared at his arm and assumed he was one of their fellow sailors. Due to the fact Jin was still wearing the Albatross’ uniform. ”This was one of the abandoned ships the pirates used, I beat some pirates and took it from them,” he explained, as he ripped off the rest of his right arm’s sleeve. He used the white cloth to wrap his cut and tend to it temporarily. Jin suddenly heard a thump on the deck, and he saw a very familiar person. ”Yo Mars!” Jin spoke out to Mars, as he looked over to see an armless girl. ”Yea, Mouse is gone from this world,” he whispered to Mars. ”Hello Sam, I’m Jin,” he introduced himself to the female. Jin did not bother to give out his full name, since people rarely even remembered it. Though, she looked very messy and he had to question himself if she was really a girl or not. Jin wasn’t rude, and knew that would create a problem for him if she was a girl. His blood dripped down his hand and hit the wooden floor. The dark red color seeped into the wood and stained it a burgundy color. But his blood wasn’t the only thing he noticed; he noticed Mars’ wounds and Sam’s. It seemed the female’s was worse, as he could see an alarming amount of blood dripping off her back. ”Mars mind if I patch myself up in your cabin?” he asked Mars. Jin got a nod as a response from Mars. Jin looked at the sailors taking up the oars and starting to row. He looked down at his arm and knew that he couldn’t help them out with his arm starting to feel painful. The adrenaline rush depleted and made Jin feel all the aches from battle. He cracked his neck and shook off the pain, as he went in search for some supplies. He was sure that one of the marines on board would have brought some kind of medical kit. Jin went to the middle of the deck to ask some of the other sailors on board. ”Do you guys have any medical supplies?” the herbalist asked, as he got up and carried the sack behind him. The sailors nodded, as they lead Jin to the middle of the deck where others were getting treated. It seemed there were no doctors on board, and he really did not feel like tending to all these sailors’ wounds. Jin took some an antibiotic cream, white gauze, and some alcohol pads. The male went into Mars’ cabin and smelled something foul. He could smell alcohol and barf. Jin looked at the pool of barf, and felt like all the alcohol he had drank last night was somehow finding itself back in his stomach. Jin sat on a chair in the corner, as he opened couple packages of alcohol pads. He set the gauze and the antibiotic on the wooden deck next to him. ”Fuck, this is going to hurt,” he muttered, as he took the alcohol swab and started to wipe his cut. He gritted his teeth as he held in his scream of pain. The alcohol swab was fully covered in blood and he tosses it aside for now. Jin opened a second swab and got the rest of his blood cleaned up. He took the antibiotic, squeezed some of the cream on his fingers and started to rub the vaseline on his forearm. He made sure there was an excessive amount of antibiotic. Jin had an experience where his cut had gotten infected and from then on, he was sure to put antibiotics on. After applying the cream, the injured male finished up his small work by wrapped gauze tightly around his arms. He made sure it was thick enough so the blood wouldn’t seep out. Jin ripped off the gauze and finished mending his wound. Before he knew small blots of blood stained his gauze. He cared not much about it and picked up the remnants of his patch work. Jin gave the sack to Mars and the piece of paper he had picked up from inside the Albatross. He watched Mars rummage through it and read a piece of paper. Mars passed over the paper to Jin after reading, and Jin read the papers. He was pretty surprised that there was a drug smuggler on board of a simple sailors ship. This was not the kind of treasure Jin thought he would find, but it was a discovery that had been interesting. |

As Sam sat cross legged, feeling the weariness of the days activities kicking, she suddenly heard a thump as Mars landed part way on the boat. She looked towards him and smiled before closing her eyes again. She felt like she'd pass out honestly. One of the biggest downside of her cyborg body parts was a reduced amount of blood. It didn't need to go as far out as it had to before, so it didn't really effect her ability to run or put forth effort for a long amount of time, but the lower quantity meant that a wound like what was on her back was that much more dangerous to her. Sam looked around the ship as she sat, taking in her surroundings. She had only just now noticed really that there were a bunch of sailors on the ship. They looked at her suspiciously, but it seemed like as long as she didn't hurt them, they wouldn't hurt her. The ship was in poor condition as well. The ship had the smell of mold, and the wood had grown soft. The owner apparently didn't know much about ship maintenance. Along with the poor quality of the ship, it was also covered in doodles all over, probably the work of Mars. Before she had even realized it, Mars had walked up to her and indicated for her to follow him. She got up lazily, almost falling over, and walked after Mars to the corner he came to. Another man came to join us, probably Mars' friend who was here to loot the ship with him... if that was even their objective. Sam wasn't really sure what they were doing here, it actually seemed like they came here for a similar reason to hers, only much more noble. Where she had come to defeat the pirates and bring them back to the marines, it seemed as though Mars and his friend were here to save the sailors who were attacked... Thinking about it made Sam feel pretty guilty honestly, but at least she was able to distract the captain for enough time to likely save some sailors. "Jin, this is Sam, she saved both our asses up there. Where's Mouse?" Mars said to the other man, Jin. As she was introduced, Sam simply nodded, seeming tired. 'Am I looking pale to them?... I hope not... I really don't want these guys to worry about me...' Sam thought to herself. She heard Jin whisper something to Mars, but she didn't really care much at this point... As she dozed off into her own thoughts, she was suddenly woken up by the new man saying her name ”Hello Sam, I’m Jin,” Mars' friend said rather coldly... Was it coldly? Sam wasn't really sure honestly... "Yeah, hi Jin. Nice to meet you." Sam said, trying to talk in her usual smart-ass, sarcastic tone. She was a little scared it seemed more weary and weak to him though... After introductions, Mars turned around and shouted out to the sailors as well as Sam and Jin. "Looks like we're going to have to break the oars out, I don't think this boat can go backwards." Before Mars could go off again, Jin walked up to him and asked him a question. It didn't seem to hold any importance to Sam, so she didn't pay attention. Samantha went over to the cabin and sat down, leaning back against it as Jin went inside. She saw Mars try to cut the rope, embarrassingly failing a few times before finally cutting the L'Esule loose. She felt the ship start moving and closed her eyes, trying to get some rest before getting back to Loguetown. |

You can do...whatever you like with it next SL, I guess? Or just PM me and I'll figure something out. I dunno. In addition to the copious amounts of wacky tabaccy you smuggled off the ship, the sack also contained various boxes and bags of Beli, apparently payment for the supply in the first place. There is an awful lot of Beli in the loot. Mars and co basically made off with a small fortune worth of Beli. No bounties are issued for any of Mars' crew. The Marines who overtook the boat never saw them and the fight between them and the Pirates left little time for pointing of fingers or listing names. Still, some Pirates did manage to get out without being arrested and small whispers of the three or four 'Thieves' on the ship are in the underground rumor circles. |
