Jin looked at the ship and just wondered what kind of pirate ship this could make. He then heard Mouse’s argument and just sighed. It seemed he was really good for nothing, the white-haired male thought to himself. Jin listened to the fact about skeleton crews and wondered what he meant. He knew there were no real live skeletons. Jin thought of worn out, skinny people who were underfed. A crew that was lacking in food or some necessity would be a perfect ship to rob. Mouse’s plan was coming better than Jin was expecting. Maybe he doubted Mouse for no reason then. Jin was confused because most of the time his senses were right. ”Maybe, there are good people to trust,” he said, feeling as if fate was trying to mess with him.

Jin listened to the plan that was detailed a lot more than he expected. They had to go through a maze of halls, snatch the loot, and come out without anyone recognizing us as trespassers? It didn’t sound as simple as he first thought it would be. Jin heard about the goods, as he saw a rope come down in front of him. He saw a small note attached by a pin against the rope, and snatched it off. He looked at it and read it out loud, ”The lookout is asleep.” Hoping that Mars and Mouse would come to the realization their plan was under way. Jin took Mouse’s uniforms that were handed out. It didn’t really go well with his white and black striped jacket and pants. They had to be quiet and stealthy now to sneak on board without awaking the lookout. ”I’ll go first, then Rat, then you Mars,” he suggested, as he took onto the rope. He kept on foot on the deck, as he checked the sturdiness of the rope.

The Kilah male took onto the rope, and started to climb it. Seikatsu climbed the rope like a monkey, and if one looked closely they would see a tail lightly swinging between his legs. His white hair became thicker with black shades. There was a slight transformation, but one could barely tell unless looking closely. He climbed the rope with ease, and looked down to see that it wasn’t much of a drop if he could land it. As he came up the starting point of the rope, he could see a figure without a shirt on sitting on top of a barrel that tied the rope down. Jin returned back to his human form, as he started to climb up onto the Albatross’ deck. He made sure the unknown stranger didn’t see it and hopefully the two below had not too. He had tried to hide it between his legs.

Jin looked at the male that was in front of him now as his tall, cut figure rose up from the slightly crunched climb. ”Hey, names Satsujinha, or Jin” he told, the other athletic man. He could see this man wasn’t no screw around, he seemed like he could scrap and well to put that. ”Three in total. Your name?” he asked, after receiving the question. He had to be on guard again, because it seemed on the pirate life there was always new people coming into your life. It was truly a hectic and fast-paced life. Jin got a thrill from this, and couldn’t help but have a small grin on his face.

Before climbing Mouse tied the ropes tossed down to L'Esule's mast, making sure it was a firm knot. Mars watched Jin climb up and saw something that gave him the willies.

"What the-" Mars whispered to himself. He could have sworn he had seen something move under Jin's pants. Had his hair just changed? He probably would of missed it, but a painter's eye is sharp indeed. He chalked it up to his imagination and delirium from last night. Maybe he really hadn't gotten it all out of his system, after all.

Mouse then nimbly scaled the ropes as a only a rodent can. Mars gave it a go after him. He struggled in the shadow of the Albatross while he climbed up the rope. It had been a while since he had to climb something like this. Reaching the handrail he managed to get one leg over and he rolled onto the deck. He got up and saw the three other men ready.

"Alright, Jayce, you met Jin, that's Mars. Let's go to that one guy's cabin. With you, we probably won't get questioned, right? Also, one of has to stay behind."
Mouse queried.

"Hey Jayce" Mars smiled and waved after the introduction. "Why don't you and Mouse go on ahead, I'll guard the ship." Mars directed at Jin.

Mars looked back over the railing, making sure L'Esule didn't get too close to the Albatross and crash. When he looked he saw something else, as well. There was that small boat he had seen on the horizon a couple of times earlier. He had chalked it up to a coincidence. It was getting closer now, it looked like a rowboat? Maybe a ship had sunk and someone needed help. Either way, now that he would be staying behind, he could keep an eye on it.

Mouse wasted no time in then walking over the spacious deck to the lower deck's entrance. He was in a hurry, despite his injuries. He knew something the others didn't. As long as he kept his head down walking through the halls he would be off this ship in a blink. Then he could go back and gloat how he had pulled a fast one over his old crew. Even after the brutal beating they gave him last night.

As Mouse stepped into the lower decks he hoped the crew was still eating lunch. The narrow hall he stepped into after a short flight of stairs was much darker than the noon sun outside. He had seen portholes along the ship, but he was in the central area of the deck and there was no natural light to be seen. A few small lanterns lit the way. This was good, as long as he stayed in these central halls he would be a content little mouse. It would be easy to conceal himself.

With the others leading away into the decks below Mars decided to get back onto the L'Esule. He was curious about the small boat that seemed to be heading right towards them and had also forgotten his painting supplies. Heading down the ropes ended up a lot easier than going up them. When he got down he took a second and got his supplies out of the cabin. Man, it really stinks in here, Mars said to himself. Maybe when he was done vandalizing the Albatross he could clean up a little. He imagined the vomit wasn't helpful to the ship's wood.

He then looked up at the larger ship's stern. It said 'Blue Albatross' in giant letters. He carefully climbed up the ropes with some of his paint balanced in his satchel and thought carefully about his vandalism. Maybe some word play? Or take a few letters out?

Samantha stayed in the water, she had already left her boat and was going alone the side of the ship on her own, keeping her head down low so she wasn't spotted. It looked like the pirates were gonna leave a lookout behind. It would be inconvenient, but not that big of a problem. Sam saw the lookout climbing up the ropes, it seemed like he was gonna vandalize the ship somehow. She decided she would sneak towards the ship while he was having fun with his prank. She slowly swam forward, pulling herself forward with her grip on the Albatross. When she got close enough, she decided she would lay in the water and wait, watching to see what the pirate had planned with his 'decorations'. Sam always did appreciate a good prank... or two... or five...

If the lookout hadn't noticed Sam coming towards the ship, then by now she would be hanging off the side of the pirates own ship, watching as the lookout continued and finished his vandalism. If he did notice her, she would most likely swim as fast as she could, charging towards the pirate ship to try and punch the lookouts face in before he got a chance to warn the others.

Jayce frowned at the man whose name was entirely too long to possibly bother remembering, but was spared the troubled of complaining when a nickname was provided. Good thing to, it wasn't like he went around calling himself 'Jayceamoritacita' or some nonsense. "Jin, right then." He tilted his hat in greeting to the other two as they climbed onto the deck. "Rat guy, Mars. Pleasure to meet one of you." He grinned at that, entirely too wide, before Mouse spoke up and said something dumb. Then he looked less amused. He was willing to work with him, but he didn't particularly like the weasely fellow - made him think he was ready to turn on them all at any moment.

And only he was allowed to do that.

The traitor chef stood up and straightened his hat, rolling his eyes before he headed for the trapdoor leading to the lower deck. He shook his head. "No, if they see you then they will wonder who you are. However, our illustrious captain does not pay them enough to bother waking up before noon-" He pointed upwards to the occupied crows nest, where the lookout was being a useless lump at the only time so far it was going to be a problem, then began climbing down the latter. Some ships had stairs, but those would have taken up precious space that could have been used for cargo. "- Or to really care unless you bother them somehow. So be quiet."

Jin looked at Mars, as he entrusted him to go with the two newcomers. Well technically, everybody here was strangers to one another and so this could go not as well planned. But he felt like Mars was somebody he could trust. After listening to Jayce’s name, he quickly followed behind Mouse. He wondered why he wanted to go ahead so quickly. Jin decided to see what secrets Mouse could possibly hold. This was loot he was not going to miss out on.

Jin quickly followed behind Mouse, keeping quiet as possible and at the same time looking around for any of the crewmen. ””Hey, you know where you’re going, Rat?” Jin asked in a whisper, as he kept following behind Mouse. He looked around to see how cramped this place was and how terrible it smelled. There was a lot of wood, and it wasn’t in the best shape possible. It seemed like this whole crew and its ship was falling apart. He could hear some chatter in a couple of the rooms and he slowly crept by them, not making any noise.

The male wondered if the shirtless fellow, Jayce, was behind him or not. He didn’t really care at the moment, for he wanted to get out of this safe and sound. He wouldn’t mind a brawl or two, but he knew that that would only cause trouble for him. The Kilah male stepped on a wood and he heard it squeak. It seemed like a bell had just rung for him. He cursed in inside, as he kept on walking. He just didn’t want to alert any possible crewmen inside. He simply kept walking, if anything he knew he would use Mouse to get in and out. Jin noticed Mouse was navigating through the halls very easily.

Mars hung a few meters above his boat humming a tune to himself. He was suspended from the ropes off the Blue Albatrosses' stern, facing the giant letters. It had been a almost a week since he had broken out his paints. It felt good to work, all his cares drifted away when he did. It had been was a revolutionary friend who had introduced him to painting outside the canvas. At first he had been appalled, but now it was the only way he could paint. He got to a part of the song he said aloud.

"Our merry little bands, Admirals we will shoot," And he continued humming absentmindedly, it was an old anti-marine song from home.

He paused for a second and thought about how he would do this. It was easy enough to get ass our of BLUE ALBATROSS. But, that wasn't good enough. If he mixed up BLUE he could get LUBE. But that was anagram and not subtraction, it would also take longer. If he turned the E into a B and got rid of the A and turned the second L into an E he could get it without reordering the letters. LUBE ASS didn't make grammatical sense, though. He would have to turn the T into an N, the R into and A. He would get rid of the both Bs, the first A and the O. Then he would get 'LUBE AN ASS'. It wasn't the same number of syllables as BLUE ALBATROSS, unfortunately. He didn't have time to figure out how to get an 'UP' in there. His black paint would have to do, as well. It might clash with the blue lettering the ship used, but Mars thought that would give it a certain anarchic feel.

Having decided, he got to his work and began straining and stretching to reach the letters. It reminded him of the ceiling mural he once done on the ceiling of a church, high in the air. Hopefully, he wouldn't get as sore this time. Walking about Loguetown he had seen a a special brush used at the docks made to paint ships. It would have really been useful now. It was about five feet long and he had inquired about it. Evidently, it even had compartments along the handle for putting in canisters of paint. He wished he had gotten it, but it was too expensive for him.

Mouse made his way through the halls. He had studied the plans of the boat weeks earlier and knew his way around well. Jayce seemed to have taken another entrance to the lower deck. Perhaps the trap door in the middle of the ship for loading and unloading? He hoped they would meet back at their objective. Jin and him were probably strong enough to carry the crates on their own, though.

A door in front of him swung open and laughter and light spilled out. He signaled behind him to hide and took a noiseless dive behind one of the many crates in the hall.

"HAHAHA! I'll win all that back, you'll see!"
One of the sailors stepped out and shut the door behind him. Mouse perked his ears at the noise the gambler made, wondering in which direction he would walk. He heard a step in his direction. He thought quickly, could he pretend he fell asleep in the hall? Maybe he wouldn't see them in the low light. Maybe Jin could take him out. With him helping a bit, of course.

Samantha hung from the side of the boat, watching as the lookout continued his vandalism. He hadn't noticed her when she was swimming towards him, and she now decided there was time to relax and watch events unfold. She spent her time watching the man masterfully rearrange and change letters, trying to figure out what he had planned for the ship. It was... odd... This man was most likely a pirate, but... She wasn't getting the vibe she thought she would... In fact, watching him he seemed as nice as any other normal person, if not even better.

After watching a while, Samantha finally figured out what the man had planned for the ship, and she couldn't help but burst out laughing when she found out. She threw herself on the boat before her laughter cause her to lose her grip, and held her belly as she let out giggles and guffaws. "Hahaha!!! L-Lube an ass! Th-that Haha! That's awesome! Hahaha!" She finally started settling down and sat up, oddly enough not too worried that she had clearly blown her cover. For some reason she felt like this guy was somebody that she could let herself trust.

After regaining her composure, she stood up straight, looking at the lookout smirking triumphantly. "So, you're the pirates that have come to loot the ship huh? Just 3 of you? You don't seem all that prepared." She said, smirking at the man like as if she knew for a fact she had the upper hand. She moved her hand so she could get a look at her artificial nails, mostly for the visual effect of looking casual and unconcerned. "Now, how should I go about this? Should I hold you here and torture you for information? Or should I just beat you to a pulp now? Hmm... What do you think... Mister kaizoku?" ((Kaizoku is Japanese for pirate, I use it because I believe it has a more dramatic effect)) She stood before you, smirking confidently. Honestly she wasn't too sure what she was doing was right, but she made sure that her expressions and tones of voice didn't lose her any ground in terms of intimidation.

Mars heard some laughter from below him. It took a few seconds to react, he was still under the enrapturing spell of his work. His concentration was fully broken by young voice coming from his own boat. He tried twisting around on the ropes and swung about. Out of his peripheral vision he noticed something out on the water, heading towards the newly dubbed Lube An Ass.

His focus was really trained on the soaking wet child that stood on L'Esule, though. He had assumed it was someone in need of help, but there was nothing in her voice or attitude that suggested assistance was needed. He then squinted for a moment at the object that had caught his attention earlier. It was coming up from the direction of the Lube's bow, out of sight to the new-comer. She accused him of piracy.

"Pirate? I'm much more than that! Can't speak for my friends, though." Mars acted flustered after correcting her and then grinned widely. The young girl proceeded to threaten to beat the crap out of him. It surprised him for a second and after a moment of confusion he burst out laughing.

"Why do you want to do that? After all, I'm just giving the smugglers aboard a little help evading the authorities." Mars smirked knowingly, half joking and half hoping he could talk his way out of a confrontation with the young girl. He thought he had noticed something strange about her arms. His sharp eyes detected a sort of monotone appearance to her skin. Whatever it was, he didn't want to take any chances. Whoever could row this far off Loguetown and track them like that was not someone he wanted to start a fight with, preteen or not.

He looked back at the rapidly approaching object. Yes, he was sure, there was a jolly roger over top it. The pirate ship seemed about 70 feet long and had a glint of metal along the bow. It was sailing on the same wind that had allowed them to get to the Lube much faster than the Lube could get to Loguetown. But, this ship seemed built for speed, not cargo space. It bounced up with every other wave and broke the one after like a hungry wolf bounding towards it's prey. And at it's current pace and trajectory it was set to crash head first into the Lube.

"If you're looking for real pirates it looks like they are coming to us. Come on!"
Mars turned around, smiled and waved her over, beckoning her to follow him. He put away his supplies and made sure his satchel was secure. He then grabbed the stern's handrail and jumped on board the Lube. He looked over the side to L'Esule and added.

"I'm Mars, by the way, it's nice to meet you." He grinned, turned and started running towards the crew entrance to the lower deck. He was stiffer than he realized, the awkward position had tensed his muscles. He double checked to make sure he had his rapier on him. Yup, it was in his hilt. Now he just had to find Jin and Mouse on board and warn them about this new development. He hoped Mouse had been exaggerating when he called the interior a maze of halls.

"I'm Mars, by the way, it's nice to meet you." The man said as he jumped aboard the newly dubbed Lube An Ass, headed off to fight what seemed like real Pirates. Samantha couldn't help but smile. Perhaps this man wasn't a pirate, and even if he was, he seemed okay in her book. She jumped up onto the Lube with Mars, and followed him below deck.

"By the way, what do you mean your more than a pirate? It's either you're a pirate or you're not right?" Samantha said to Mars questioningly as they tried to navigate through the maze-like ship. She tried to remember all the corridors, but navigation wasn't really her thing, and it didn't seem like she'd be able to remember too much of what she saw later on.

"Oh, em, I've done things pirates are scared of doing, really shouldn't talk about it." Mars huffed and puffed as he tried running and keeping up with his end of the conversation.

Sam looked at Mars awkwardly "Man you're out of breath already? You really ought to work out more" She said, giving him a condescending look "Anyways what kind of stuff are you talking about? Don't Pirates go out raping and pillaging and shit?" She said to him crudely.

"Trust me, you don't want to know." Mars answered his face red now.

Sam grabbed Mars' arm to get him to stop "Hey, don't push yourself so hard. If you get tired now you won't be able to fight later. Jeese." She took a seat against the wall opposite him "Come on, why don't you tell me your story huh? Maybe I'll tell you mine in return" She said smirking slyly

"I can keep going." Mars sat down and did the opposite, obviously tired. "Forget I mentioned it. Maybe when we have earth beneath our feet we can talk about it some more." Mars looked around worriedly, hoping no one had noticed their presence. He knew the way the World Government dealt with revolutionaries like him. His paranoia wouldn''t let him be straight forward with her.

Samantha stood up and shrugged, letting out a sigh "Fine, but there's still no point in running around if you get weak because of it. Besides, it won't increase our chances of finding your friends. Let's just walk for now." Samantha walked over to Mars and gave him her hand, lifting him up "Oh by the way, my names Samantha, call me Sam if you like. I'm an inventor from Loguetown. Kind of a genius some might say" She said confidently, smiling widely

"Really?" Mars asked. He was suprised at first and then took an interest at the young girl's claims. "That's pretty cool, what kind of stuff do you make?"

Before Samantha had a chance to say, the ship suddenly started shaking causing her to nearly lose her balance "Damnit! Those other pirates must have rammed the ship!"

"Shit." Mars cursed. His face darkened and he pulled out his sword.

The crash had awoken the rest of the crew as well, and men were getting up and ready all over the ship now. It would definitely cause problems for Jin and Mouse further inside the ship.

Jin silently followed behind Mouse, seeing that Jayce had lost his way trying to find them or something had happened to him. The Kilah male wondered what such great treasures were in here for Mouse to come here, he could have sworn Mouse speaking about something being noticed by the crew possibly. It seemed there were minor details that were being kept and that Jin was oblivious to them. The pirate continued to creep, as he looked around for any possible things to come up on.

Suddenly he heard footsteps from a door next to him and the light underneath the door darkening from one’s shadow. Jin quickly hid behind the door, as Mouse signaled to hide. He saw him hide behind the crate and waited for the door to open. The door opened up, barely touching Jin, and then was slammed. He walked off towards the crates hiding the acquaintance, Mouse. Jin had a couple of choices here, he remembered that if Mouse was recognized he would blow everyone’s cover. But Jin had a uniform and could pretend to be the many crewmen; he could simply say he was new.

"HAHAHA! I'll win all that back, you'll see!" “Aye! See ya later, Woodsy!” Jin heard the name of the fellow that had just left yelling and came up with an idea. ”Excuse, crewmen Woodsy?”
”Aye? That be my name,” the sailor, about Jin’s height, but a little more bulkier turned around before walking past Mouse.

”The captain would like to see you in his quarters right away, he said it was something about your pay,” Jin lied, as he watched the sailors reaction. The Kilah male smirked when he saw the sailor running off towards the upper floors. He guessed that the low pay that they got was the main thing on their minds. Jin laughed slightly as he spoke up, ”Come up, Rat, these uniforms are really useful.” Jin looked at Mouse and waited for his next move. He hoped they didn’t come across a case this close again.

As Mars spoke with Sam he thought he could have easily lied and said he had been talking about being an artist. But there was something about the perceived honesty of youth that always made him respond in kind.

As he was waiting for a response from Sam the ship shuddered in agony. If he had not been sitting he would of been knocked to the ground. The noise it produced was deafening. It sounded as if the ship had been sundered in twain. Crates, barrels and all manner of objects flew down the halls. Sailors were quick to begin emerging from the mess hall, one deck lower. They scattered and shouted amongst themselves, no hierarchy taking hold, no idea what to do without their figure-heads. Madness had descended on the former Albatross.

"Pirates! Take arms or abandon ship!" Mars tried shouting over the chaos. Not many people recognized or heard his voice. It didn't matter. Whatever they did, it would make escaping the chaos easier. And in the confusion it would be simple to not be noticed. He just hoped Sam wasn't mistaken for a pirate. Just in case, he put his hat on her head and ran towards where the noise had emanated from. As the initial shock died down, harsh voices and sounds of combat were audible from the direction of the ship's bow. He had a feeling Mouse might know why these pirates had chosen this ship to attack.

As he ran down the hall, he saw a fearsome looking pair appear. A man and a woman with striped bandanas on their heads, both armed with wicked curved swords. They chased some of the sailors, a look of coming doom on their faces. Mars kept his rapier behind him as he ran forwards, hoping that he could stick one of the pirates before they realized he was a threat.

Enemies

Mars was right, Mouse knew exactly why they had attacked. He had hoped they would be off the ship by the time his former crew had arrived. It was just his luck that the quarters that they'd been headed to was in the direction that the collision had occurred. At the very least, he estimated that they were a lot closer to it than Birko and his men.

"Fuck!" He squeaked. "Come on Jin, we're close!" He ran around a corner and slammed into a door. It didn't open, he stumbled back and winced in pain. With his hand on his hurt shoulder he tried the door knob, the door didn't budge. With the impact of the ships, the Lube's entire skeleton had been misaligned. A good deal of the doors were now stuck in their frames. He tried a swift kick and managed to get a hole in it. Looking through it he saw a man in a business suit, desperately stuffing papers into his mouth and trying to swallow them. He looked at Jin, hoping he could help him with the door.

Edit: Cleaned up some the grammar, sorry about the messiness.

Jin looked at Mouse, as he started off towards the hallways once again. He looked at him with a malicious intent in his eye now. Then suddenly, something had taken him off guard. There was a large shake, as if the boat was hit by another ship or a giant wave. Jin lost his footing and fell over against the wall of the hallway. He got his positioning back and looked over to Mouse, who seemed not to care. Mouse carried on with his plan, it seemed Mouse was focused like a machine on getting whatever this treasure was.

Jin suddenly started to hear a lot of noises. He heard many footsteps from coming above. It seemed like there was a ruckus, and he was hoping it wasn't Jayce that made it. That man was on this ship before them, so he must know the others. Unless, they were found out and they are trying to get Mars. He shrugged, as Mouse ran around a corner and smashed into the door. He was surprised by the sturdiness of the door, seeing that Mouse didn't completely bash the door.

The Kilah male met eyes with Mouse and knew what to do. He winded his hand back slowly, then shot it out straight forward. His hand was flat, like a Buddha palm, but shot out straight fingers first. Then he pulled his hand up a little, causing his palm to impact with the door. The door then severely broke into splinters. There was a large hole in the middle, big enough for them to walk through, but it was still connected to the fringes.

"Rat handle what you gotta handle!" Jin said to the rodent fellow. The pirate stepped in after Mouse and waited for him to do handle the treasures. Jin was going to be the 'sword' of this mission and Mouse could be the 'hand'. Although, at times he felt the hand could be much stronger than a steel sword. Jin looked at the businessman and wondered what he was doing eating papers.

Jin guessed those papers were worth more than his treasures if he was trying to eat them. The pirate decided to stop the business suited man, since it wouldn't hurt to get those papers. They could be worth something, to someone. The white-haired male ran up behind the stranger and grabbed his arms to stop stuffing his mouth. The man started to struggle and eventually broke himself free. Jin didn't really care, since now they had his attention. The businessman slowly stepped back, getting ready to do whatever necessary.

The ship shook vigorously, the crew members awakening and scrambling all over, all trying to accomplish their own task. "Pirates! Take arms or abandon ship!" Mars yelled out. Apparently he cared for the lives of the crewmen here despite the fact he was planning to steal from them. It was something that Sam understood and appreciated. She may have been an ass most of the time, but if somebody needed her help she would try her best, and apparently Mars had similar qualities. Suddenly Mars put the hat from his disguise on Sams head and started running, probably hoping Sam would follow.

Mars sprinted through the halls towards the sound of the crash, apparently trying to find and confront the rival pirates. Samantha followed him and soon she heard sounds of combat between the workers and the enemy pirates. A couple of pirates came out the corridor, chasing some of the workers. Now these were the kind of Pirates Samantha sought to defeat and bring to the marines. Pirates that chased down innocent people to hack them to pieces and then steal their treasure. It was clear how different they were from Mars, and most likely his friends who were aboard the ship as well.

Mars started running towards the two pirates, readying his weapon behind his back. She understood what he was intending to do, and began a running charge along with him, aiming her attack towards the pirate on the right, she punched into the air and her fore-arm detached from her body, connected by a chain. "Strong Right!" Samantha yelled out as her fist flew through the air into the gut of the pirate she aimed for, knocking them down.

After the blow her arm came back to where it was before, and she continued her charge towards the pirate she had knocked over, pinning them down before punching them in the face a few more times until they were out cold. Afterward she looked over to the other pirate to see if Mars had succeeded in his attack.

If Mars had failed, Samantha would extend her left hand and shoot a single bullet out her middle finger towards the remaining pirate.

Mars bounded down the hall towards the two evildoers. He almost knocked into one of the fleeing sailors but pushed him aside and continued along. As the woman pirate's weapon was high in the air it didn't take a genius to guess that it was going to come back down. Knowing the trajectory beforehand Mars pivoted his right foot in front of him and swung his arm about, his cloak flew along with the arc of the swing. He lunged deeply using his entire length to put the point of his argument in front of him before the woman's sword was in range. She was still barreling down the hall and only noticed what was about to happen when it was too late. Mars recognized a flutter of fear in her eyes before she did all the work of impaling herself.

She gasped when the rapier sunk into her body. She decided to swing down her weapon anyways, but as the two had already collided only the woman's forearms struck Mars. He could feel the her suddenly ragged breath on his cheek. He experienced the kind of intimacy usually only reserved for either lovers or combatants.

"What's your name?" Mars whispered in her ear. Realizing she was most likely going to die she stopped fighting and responded.

"Annie." She sputtered before blood completely filled her lungs. Taking a close look at her Mars noticed the soft features of her face. Considering the difficulties of pirate life she couldn't of been more than 16. For a second he imagined the difficult life she must have lived to find herself like this, while her life probably flashed before her own eyes.

"I'm sorry, Annie." He whispered back. Mars leaned against her and she slowly slid off his weapon into a heap on the floor.

Sam made quick work of the other pirate herself. Mars congratulated himself on the smart decision of talking things over with her instead of initiating a confrontation. Shaking off the killing, Mars continued to run along the hall. He found himself at an intersection of two halls in a T, Mars being along one the upper arms of the T. The hall leading to his left had natural light leaking from it. This must be where the pirate's ship had collided with the Lube, Mars thought.

A large man emerged from this hall. he had a sailor's head in his massive hand and he dragged him along, in his opposite hand he held a large curved axe. A fresh looking wound bled openly on his back, a sword sticking from it. Two slender twins followed him at his sides. Both armed with what looked like 4 blades on each fist, extending from their knuckles. Everything about the larger man's posture screamed authority and the other two didn't look like they were flunkies, either.

The larger man's eyes hadn't yet adjusted to the darkness of the halls and hadn't noticed Mars. He walked up to the intersection with the unconscious man and picked him so that his legs hung limply in the air. He then slammed his head through the wall and laughed. The other two just watched and smiled. Mars whispered to Sam, hoping she was behind him.

"These guys look tough."
Mars ducked behind a crate and watched the scene unfold.

Birko and his lieutenants

Unknown to Mars, Mouse and Jin were right across the hall along the other upper half of the T intersection. He took the paper from the business man's mouth. Then he picked up some of the small boxes along the shelves of the business man's room. While he stuffed them into his sack he noticed that they were all nailed shut, they looked important.

"That, that, paper is for my eyes only!"
The suited man shouted at him, now able to talk freely. He struggled against Jin ineffectually.

"It's just a letter, from my boss. A love letter." The nervous man stared at the paper as Mouse also stuffed it into the sack.

"Yeah, whatever." Mouse said, taking a final look around the quarters to make sure he hadn't missed any boxes. He peered out of the door's frame to make sure no pirates were about. He quickly dove his head back in, his face now pallid.

"Oh crap, it's my boss." Mouse thought quickly and tossed the sack in Jin's direction. "Get to the boat, I'm going to try and hold them off." He ran out of the room and confronted the three former crew mates.

"Birko, looks like you made it after all." Mouse taunted the larger man.

"Oh, you made a mistake coming here, Algernon. I'm not letting you live this time." Birko became furious in an instance and turned his back on Mars' hall. The two twins menacingly and silently walked in Mouse's direction.

Jin stood there, as Mouse scurried around gathering all that was necessary. The pirate stood there and made sure the business man wasn’t up to anything suspicious. Once they were finished with their task at hand, he started to walk towards the door following behind Mouse. Unexpectedly, Mouse threw the sack at him and Jin barely caught it. Jin watched the rodent-human as he went out of the room and into the hallway.

Mouse seemed to have small hesitation for going against his old boss. He wondered the strength of Mouse, Jin wondered if he would be able to fight. Well, for the most part, Jin thought he couldn’t leave Mouse here by himself and get himself beat up by these guys. Jin peeked out the door his head popping out and looking at Birko and his lieutenants. He looked behind them on the other side of the hallway, dead end. The only route seemed through the hole and into the ocean, or back down the middle of the T-shaped hallway.

”Ahh shit! Guess we have some company,” he thought to himself, as he carried the sack behind him and started to walk out. ”Well, there seems to be a problem Rat, these men that are rushing us right now are in my way,” he said, as he tossed the sack behind him. Jin guessed they were after the sack, but he knew better than to taunt them with it. He would simply fight them and let them figure things out themselves. To Jin there was only the satisfaction of confrontation at times, for he believed it released the negative energy in him that he builds up over time.

”Can you fight?” the tall male asked, practically hovering above the small rodent male. He cracked his knuckles, and pulled his silky jacket’s zipper down to about his chest. It would give him more room for his neck and breathing. But the main thing that was noticeable was the two heads of the dragons meeting at the center of his chest. It was great artwork of finely detailed Oriental dragons about to collide. To Jin this was the biggest meaning of power and strength coming together, two dragons facing off each other.

Jin looked at the two twins walking towards him; he started to mug the one on the left, as a small smirk came across his face. The white-haired male smirked, as he pulled his feet back a couple inches. The male was getting ready to strike or defend whichever he had to do at first. The Kilah male did not know that his other companions were simply across the hallway. Once they appeared, Jin would feel a lot more confident not being outnumbered in an enemy territory with a possibility of having a weakling as a partner. But who was he to judge the rodent fellow?
