Rib watched stood up quickly, sliding his back up the wall, as the dozen or so marines rushed past him. He grabbed the last one in the line, halting him and barking orders loudly into his ear to make sure he heard.

"Ensign! Get to the ComStat, call all local battleships. Dangerous prisoner loose, total prison failure. All available units to Hitsuji." He took a breath, watching a gunfight ensue at the end of the hall. One of his men had already fallen. "As soon as you're done, sound a total evac and get the fuck out of here."

The young marine nodded nervously, running off down the hall. Greg, having just broken through the line of junior officers, made his way alongside Rib. The two ran down the hall and hit the door at the end, slamming it shut behind him.

"You dropped keys, sir!"

The two began running again, hitting the reception room. Rib stopped for a moment to check himself. Realizing he only had two sets of keys, he cursed.

"Fuck-king hell..." Rib spared himself a second to collect his thoughts. He looked up, taking his sweat-soaked hat off to reveal a head of messy, short black hair streaked with grey before its time. Greg nervously watched his superior, waiting for something to happen.

"The islanders," he stated, his eyes sharpening. "This place is filled with bounty hunters." He paused for a half second longer, the sound of more marine troops rushing to hold off the escapees reaching his ears. "The base was lost the second I dropped those keys. Follow me."

The two turned around. Rather than running towards the entrance of the base that would take them back to the island, they ran towards the seaward watch. They never broke their stride. As they leapt from the balcony, splashing into the waters below, a final sound reached their ears:

"All personnel, evacuate immediately! All personnel, evacuate immediately!"

Rib took a deep breath at the same time as he internally let out a sigh. Every battleship in DenDen range would be on its way. Swimming along the coast, staying submerged until he was out of site of ramshackle structure, he wondered how he could turn this whole rotten business around. Greg followed close behind.

--------------

The room was a mess, corpses slowly making their way across the floor, bullets flying everywhere. The archer barely had time to teleport her way from down the hall out into the room, leaping into the air over Greg and firing an arrow down at him. Fortunately for the rating, the instantaneous space-time transit had left the girl disoriented; her arrow missed and Greg shouldered his way in past the marines fortifying the doorway.

The cavewoman had been doing her own experimenting with faster-than-light travel, and had managed to wormhole her own way over to someplace she aughtn't have been. The marines watched in awe as the pirates exploited directly infront of them; one or two wondered if they should call an admin. However, return fire shortly came from the corridor diagonally across the room. The marines hunkered back down the hall a bit and took formation, the front three kneeling, only after one of their own had taken fire. They'd forgotten all about the script-kiddy pirates.

There was some tension as the marines fired out into the room, unable to see their targets but hoping to suppress them until they could get backup. Right around the same time as the horror of watching their dead comrades approach them, held on high as meat shields by the approaching pirates, reached them, the intercom system blared loudly.

"All personnel, evacuate immediately! All personnel, evacuate immediately!"

Nat was always sacrificing his body for something from performing to protecting his money, heck even his parents were saved once in awhile. He sighed heavily as he kept the puff ball firmly in place and his body slowly succumbing to the heat inside. Not only was the heat inside just multiplying within the cocoon, but the blazing bullets did not help. The heat from the bullets began to burn holes into his layer of protection, making it clear where he was not. If not for that sad fact, he probably would've gotten away Scott free, but alas life was not that easy.

The bullets began to just graze him, but after a slight groan, the shots seemed to have become more accurate. Bullets went through his right hand and left calf as he dropped to the ground and tried his best to keep himself up. This was a boy who was accustomed to the effects of powerful blunt attacks or simply hitting himself against objects, bullets were a completely unknown field. He had never until this day sipped from the tall glass of pain that bullets brought about, the burning and the piercing feeling left him a little more than just startled. While the ball that protected Amelia slowly shrank down, she couldn't help but duck lower to stay with it.

"Nat! Hang in there, Come on!"

She cried out as she slowly dropped herself lower till the point she sat on the very floor. Nat was now nothing more than a hunched up mess on the floor on all fours as he dripped beads of sweat from the clearly soaked carpet. The teen had a look of clear panic in his eyes as he felt the blood oozing from the wounds on his hand and leg. With a powerful glance at his right hand he watched as the red pool slowly tinted his carpet and collected below his hand in small droplets. His eyes wildly looking about the wound, unable to focus on a single target for more than a few seconds, made it completely obvious. He was a very inexperienced boy when it came to the pirate life.

"Keeping shooting back...we need the distraction fo-"

He stopped as he heard the clunking of a somewhat heavy object just down the hall, not too far from his current position. His attention shifted to it, in a slight panic as he thought the hulking behemoth had gotten up from the arrow to the stomach. He couldn't see from his current position, and right now he needed to treat his hand and leg, growing thicker layers of carpet around them. That's all he could do right now. The warm fluid now halted for a minute, Nat's attention slowly turned to the announcement, they wanted everyone to evacuate. Standing up slowly the teen looked at the marines ahead of him and grit his teeth, moving quickly, grabbing onto Amelia's hand, and running behind the mass of muscle Elizza held up. They didn't need to be directly behind him, they just need to be within his shadow so they cold at least have cover as Nat analyzed his damage.

Yaksha turned on his heel, watching the keys Nat had found soaring just over his and Elizza's head, and landing before the feet of one of the prisoners. He raised an eyebrow, smiling softly, as he reached backwards towards Elizza; a hand grasped her shoulder, squeezing faintly, as he spoke. "That may not be necessary, dear. It seems that our friends have found the keys; the marines really did let themselves get sloppy today. Then again, I suppose the shock was just too much for them to handle." He stepped out from behind the considerable bulk of Jakub's corpse, flinching as one of the marines fired a shot that landed just before him.

Before any more could be fired, a voice issued through the entire base, cautioning the marines to evacuate. The soldiers' gun barrels dropped a few inches, and they stared down the man before them. Yaksha could already tell they were weighing the merits of being the one to turn them in, against the dangers of staying here any longer. He kept his dagger held carefully in his hand, and cocked his head as he spoke. "Didn't you hear your commander? You should all be running. If you stick around, it won't be my fault you die."

A particularly brave marine piped up, raising his gun barrel and sighting it on Yaksha, as he shouted. "You can't kill more than one or two of us before you'd go down from the bullets!"

Yaksha's smirk was like nothing the marines had ever seen before, as he took a step closer. There was a hint of savagery not too far beneath the surface, and a glint of madness in his eyes as he spoke. "That's right. But you really need to consider this; you may kill me, and you may even get promoted posthumously for stopping me. But that won't change the fact that you'll be dead and in the ground. I don't need to kill all of you. I just need to kill you." His gaze shifted across them all, showing not even a hint of fear as he spoke.

"Leave. Now. I'd really rather not spill any more blood."

Several marines took steps back, before muttering to themselves as they threw their guns down, running for the exit. Yaksha laughed, nearly dancing his way towards Mariko and scooping down to pick up the cuffs she'd dropped. "My god, these are heavy. They can't be made of any kind of metal, that's for sure."

Elizza glanced away from Jakub, smiling faintly. "It's seastone. I heard them talking about it. I'm not sure what she ate, but she's got a Devil Fruit."

Yaksha's eyebrow raised as he murmured a "Spectacular..." and tossed them aside. He grabbed the keys next, whistling as he made his way towards the prison cells. As he stepped through the door, many of the pirates began banging on their cells or screaming in fury. Yaksha held up a hand, letting their cries continue. Finally, he spoke in a low, soft voice that was just enough for the people in the cells to hear.

"Didn't you hear the announcement? It's time to evacuate. The marines will be here with battleships soon enough, and I don't doubt they'll be ready to sink any ship sailing with a pirate's flag. Any of you that don't have a boat had better secure one. I've room for..." He paused, seeming to count in his head, before nodding to himself. "Two more. I'll be taking the two who most catch my interest with me. But you'd best hurry; I'll be sailing off in about twenty minutes." He threw the keys into the nearest cell, and smirked. "I'll be outside. If I don't see any others following after you, I'll be very upset."

Elizza hurled the gargantuan jailer away from her, approaching Mariko and trying to engulf her in a hug. "I told you I'd get us all out, didn't I? My captain hit a few snags along the way, but we're here, and we're all okay. When Rib shot you two, I was almost ready to snap those bars in half. But then I'd probably just get brought down and taken to a better cell, no doubt." She stepped back, the faint smile on her face turning into a full-blown grin.

"Sail with us. We've got a doctor, and my captain's going to make damn sure that you get looked over. You'll probably be back to normal in a couple of weeks."

"Yes, indeed. If you know your way around a ship, we can certainly find a place for you."

He ran a hand through his long, blue-dyed hair, and watched a long streak of it turn brown as his sweat-stained hand became blue. "Of course, I've got to get out of this silly disguise before we sail off. Myself and Nat are the only ones they've yet to meet, so it's best if we take off our disguises. Elizza, you can take care of things here. I've got to get to the ship and prepare for our departure."

He slipped out of the room, beginning to survey the room for something he could use to cover his head and hide the hideous brown streak through his carefully tinted hair.

Mariko rubbed her wrists and let Yaksha fly past her on his way to the rest of the prisoners. She then turned to see Elizza coming at her, and she quickly shot out her hands to stop the woman from hugging her. "Whatever." She responded to the sailing offer. "Best fucking offer I've had all day." She added. The sound of the alarm blaring throughout the building caused a smile to cross her face.

"Hey Blue. Go with the girl here and check out the boat." Mariko said, cracking her head to one side and walking away from the others. "I think you should all get the hell out of here though." She commented. She lifted a fist back and slammed it into the stone with a painful crunch. The contact point started to glow as fire began to burn in Mariko's eyes once more. "SHAPED CHARGE!" She roared, sending an explosion into the stone. It ripped a hole into the ground, sending a shockwave across the floor and blew flames and smokes into the room below. Mariko slipped into the hole down into the devastation and got her bearings, her refined construction senses directing her to the structural weak points of the building.

There was a whole lot of commotion going on around her, Mildra was confused as somehow she wound up going faster or farther than she had hoped to go, or something like that. Everything seemed like a tangle fruit from her home, no matter how hard you work at untangling it you'll eventually get tangled up inside it and have to be rescued by your friends or eaten by the feared Tangle Trapping Tentra Tiger. This jumbled memory of her home served as an apt metaphor for Mildra, not that she knew what a metaphor was, but some things are best left alone, and this confusing situation was one of them.

Being snapped back to reality she was standing to the side of the room between The blu and white girls with odd cracking sticks and Master and her associates. Pojo was clucking and flapping up a storm as the small launched pebbles snapped and cracks all around the room. Mildra stared at the blue and white girls with a curious look on her face not sure what to do next. One of them averted their gaze to MIldra and aimed their stick at her. she had a red face and seemed to be hesitating for some reason, probably intimidated by the great Mildra sama. Getting a momentary look of resolve on her face she did something and her stick puffed out smoke. She didn't understand what happened unti.l she felt a pain in her shoulder. Mildra had felt a lot of kinds of pain before, but this was different, it felt like it was some sort of piercing thing shoot through her. She slowly raised a hand to her shoulder and touched it, it was sore, she held her hand before her face and saw that it was dripping blood. Her face twisted and grimaced as she tried to come up with an adequate emotion to convey her feelings. She had been hurt by something, but she didn't see anything. Was there some sort of invisible enemy that struck her in an instant. Did it have something to do with that strange girls smoking stick?

Mildra fell to her knee's tears beginning to well up in her eyes. Her nose began to get runny and a trickle of snot bubbled and dripped out her nose. Mildra was about ready to lose it and become hysterical when master stood up and stared down at the blue and white girls. De4spite that all of them had magical pain making sticks master exuded an aura of dark confidence and power. Mildra momentarily forgot her pain and the damage to her shoulder and stared in awe as master spoke to the girls and got them all to stand down like that. It was inspiring, surely she was the perfect one to teach Mildra the ways of this confusing world she found herself in. Gritting herself through the pain she stood back up slouched to her other side and still clutching her shoulder. She knew by now that these other girls were associated with master and that they had been given orders to meet him later elsewhere. While Mildra hadn't recieved any orders from master for awhile, which was a bit disheartening, she figured her best bet would be to follow these regularly shaped girls. She scurried over towards them just as one of them touched the ground and blew a whole in it, clearly she was a sorceress as well.

"Ahhh h-hello, You must be masters apprentices as well. Mildra's name is Mildra... ummm Mildra is masters newest follower. Mildra got hurt by the bad girls magic stick but Mildra is ok! Mildra doesn't know where to go right now, casn she follow you?" She asked the girl known as Elizza trying to be as polite and nonthreatening as possible. Her shoulder was bleeding a fair bit, thankfully her people had an exceptionally high threshold for pain so it wasn't to unbearable. But it'd still probably do better if it were wrapped or taken care of.

Aoime glared a bit at Mariko as she gave her some commands. Honestly though, it wasn't like she had an actual plan. Her plan after getting free and getting her guns was simply to kill as many as possible. As Mariko blew a hole down below she shrugged and looked to this Elizza. "So...what's the plan skipper?" As a few of the marines seemed to be getting some balls, she drilled a couple more rounds their way before doing a quick spin and reloading both her guns. "I'm all for just staying here and shooting everyone of the bastards' in the head till there is no one left." To emphasize her want to kill she popped off a couple more rounds in the direction of the marines.

Please be aware, for future reference, that the players in a hound SL have no right to control NPCs/environment, nor base actions on assumption of NPC/environmental behaviour. In a hound SL all NPCs are controlled by the mod. Their behaviour and reactions are entirely at the mod's discretion; basing a character's action on assumptions can lead to action conflict and necessitate ret-conning of the player's post. I know you guys were just trying to speed things up and that the SL is almost at an end, but please be aware that this is still a hounding until it's completely finished, which is different from mostly finished.

The marines in the front row regarded the blue-haired individual before them. Some of them recognized him; he'd been wandering their base freely earlier. To the rest he was a stranger, just another pirate responsible for this whole bloody mess. Though the evacuation message blared it's command loudly throughout the small, shoddy base, the marines knew it was their duty to hold off these pirates. They would evacuate last, when they knew the rest of the personnel was safe.

Suddenly, the pirate began to exude a strange and powerful force. It seemed like he was pretending to intimidate them, though given the situation they felt no need to be scared of this cowering pirate scum. They quickly noticed, however, that he was using some strange psychic force to hijack their bodies and minds. Terrified, they knew they were facing yet another exploiter. There never seemed to be a server admin on when you needed one.

"You can't kill more than one or two of us before you'd go down from the bullets!" one of them shouted against his will. He could have gotten off like ten shots by now if he hadn't been placed under this hax mind control.

"That's right. But you really need to consider this; you may kill me, and you may even get promoted posthumously for stopping me. But that won't change the fact that you'll be dead and in the ground. I don't need to kill all of you. I just need to kill you."

The cheater showed no fear; why would he need to be afraid when he was in control of his enemy? He stood before them, unprotected, their guns aimed at him. If they had control of their own bodies they'd have shot him down a dozen times over. Sadly, they did not.

"Leave. Now. I'd really rather not spill any more blood."

Suddenly, they felt their limbs loosening. They muttered amongst themselves, bitching about how script-kiddies took all the fun out of the game. Rather than face any further hax, they dropped their guns and ran to spawn, logging and high-tailing it to their respective email services to send the admin angry letters.

"All personnel evacuate immediately! All personnel evacuate immediately!"

The few remaining marines in the base were all busily fleeing, right around the same time prisoners were busily freeing themselves elsewhere. A confused, middle-aged chore boy, on his thirteenth year in the service with no promotion, accidentally ran back into the base, shortly appearing in the room with all the pirates and no more marines. His jaw dropped, his hat sliding off of his sweat-soaked half-bald head.

"O-o-oh dear..." he whimpered, staring with glazed eyes around the room.

"I'm all for just staying here and shooting everyone of the bastards' in the head till there is no one left."

The words rang in his head like a funeral knell. He saw the gun raised at him, the gunwoman not even paying attention where she was shooting. The random shot, fired merely for emphasis of her statement, pierced him directly between the eyes. His life flashed before his eyes, a series of long-forgotten failures from every stage in his life. As dark red blood coated the hallway floor behind him, the last marine departed the base...vertically.

The hounding portion of this SL is officially over. Feel free to finish, amongst the five of you, the remainder of your escape as you see fit. Do exercise some caution, however; if you guys are too reckless the hounding will resume. Don't forget that you're on an archipelego full of BHs with more marines on the way.

Elizza smiled noncommittally, and gently lay a hand on Mildra's head, only to draw it away and wipe it on her clothing absentmindedly. "Apprentice is one way to call it. I tend to just call him my captain and leave it at that." Her eyes twinkled with a soft inner light as she looked down at Mildra. "My god, girl. Where have you been, and when's the last time you bathed? You smell horrible; they could probably track us just by trying to find the biggest reek of meat in several miles." She turned to Yaksha, probably to goad him into agreeing, but her words died when she glanced at Yaksha; frozen at the doorway, all thoughts of headwear wiped clean.

Even beneath the soft librarian's guise, his eyes were beginning to fill with an odd gleam that made them almost demonic. His hand slid to his face, slowly knocking out the colored contacts, and barely remembering to slip them in his pocket as he murmured to himself. "Such explosive power...such magnificent destruction...yes, I must have this one." He walked towards the edge of the hole formed in the ground, then turned to Nat and Elizza. His face was alight with a ghastly smile that twisted his figures into a truly merciless grimace.

"Run along, children. Nat, take off your carpet; none of them saw the boy beneath. See if you can't give our friends some nice hair to help you slip out. I have some business to attend to." He could almost be seen licking his lips as he lept down into the basement of the base; down here, water sloshed around, and the damp smell in the air spoke of untold kinds of fungus and mold. Yaksha, however, seemed singularly uninterested, as he waded forward.

His voice was saccharine and fierce joviality, as he continued through the water. He seemed nearly prepared to break out into a song and dance, even down here in the miserable sewer. "Oh, my dear! I never did catch your name. And, if you're doing what I imagine you are down here, you'll be wanting someone here to make sure you get out safely." He paused, and the empty, hungry silence seemed almost to beg to be filled, before he unleashed a dry, secretive chuckle that seemed to lower the temperature in the basement several degrees. "We ARE only a stone's throw from the ocean. And I know enough about those fruits to know if you're stuck down here, or washed into the sea, you won't last long."

He continued to slosh through the water, giving out soft hums of music every few moments, before speaking again. "That's quite an interesting power you have. In fact, I daresay I know quite the interesting way to make sure you do exactly what you have planned, without any threat to us." His tone was calm and composed, as if his plans hadn't been horribly derailed time and time again during their attempt to break into the cells. "All I need is a little information..."

Nat couldn't help but feel like he was short changed in the fruit department. He looked onwards as the woman whom removed her cuffs motioned towards the wall, her hands pressing against them as they created a warm glow. He gave it a rather puzzled look, Amelia tilting her head, as they both examined the current situation. Before he knew it there was a mild hissing noise, causing him to pull his head back a little, and then came an explosion. Both their eyes opening wide for a moment as they examined the woman's handy work with clearly shocked expressions.

"Did she just..."

"But...concrete..."

"Wow."

The duo uttered with feelings of complete awe as they watched the woman easily blow apart the wall with almost no effort what so ever. The fact the girl used nothing more than her palms to do so meant she obviously had a devil fruit, explaining the seastone cuffs so well. His carpet fruit was nothing in comparison to such a powerful fruit, especially when it allowed her to take apart walls with the same effort it took him to cover a wall in carpet. Nat huffed for a second as Amelia was falling head over heels as she watched the fruit in action. As Nat moved towards the woman, he stopped and fell to the floor, his left leg unable to properly support his weight with a hole in his calf. The blood leaking out into the carpet, dying it a permanent burgundy. The cat man found himself clinging to the wall for dear life as he picked himself up and began to move for the exit.

"Yak, you want me to what?"

He asked as Amelia approached him from his side and helped him keep himself up. She gave the same confused look as Nat until she figured out something and hoped she was correct. Gripping his left hand, taking it off the wall and onto her cheek, she gave a slight nod and smiled once.

"We need to look different, change your appearance and ours with your carpet."

Nat looked at her for a moment and then felt his powers seep through the palms of his hand, a small layer of yellow carpet forming under it as he focused entirely on the task at hand. A goatee side burn combo slowly growing all around her face as he removed bubble from her hair, letting her hair fall. It wasn't enough, she still looked too male, he scratched his chin slightly as he dropped his hand onto her head, her eyes looking up the best she could as she watched him. With an easy movement, he ruffled her hair, making her face rather angry and serious as he did, but it did partially hide the fact she was female.

"Thanks Nat...Thank you so much."

"No problem sweetie~!"

He replied in a sing song voice as he thought up something else to hide her obvious curves and her small chest. Slowly he removed the carpet from his entire body, shrinking back into his skin into nothing as he used his left hand to remove his vest. and hand it over to Amelia, who looked at it with a rather strange gaze.

"It'll cover those...cherries."

He joked, only to be caught off guard with a kick to his left calf, her fist then hitting one of the many minor wounds from the onslaught of ammunition. He crinkled up in pain as she rubbed the carpet beard and checked her sideburns, looking at him and turning away as she threw the vest over her green top. Slowly she pulled the green gloves off of herself and dropped them onto Nat's face, sitting on his side as she adjusted the vest.

"I think we're all okay now, except for..you two...and the chicken?"

She questioned as the fact that the chicken had just fought through a battle with them, a chicken, the very thing people referred to as wimps. She facepalmed herself then her gaze fell onto the girl's overwhelming chest size, how the hell was she going to hide all of that? She stroked her new beard, finding it rather helpful in this situation as she thought up something to do. She also had to figure out how to get rid of Nat's hammer, which was when a bullet came sailing across and murdered a young boy whom had just entered the base. She blinked twice and then thought up a plan that could easily get them out of here. Slowly she pulled Nat over to the young teen whom was just shot through the head and slowly did she place his left hand onto his abdomen.

"Cover him in that cat thing you were in, and give me the hammer, they'll think you died and we can lose that piece of evidence."

Nat looked a little confused at her sudden ability to think on the spot, makes him feel like she has done this a lot in the past. He hesitantly let the power roam from his hand to the boy, he was use to covering himself in the kitty and others in normal carpet, but he was unsure of his ability to mimic the kitty on this kid. Before he knew it he was done, and the kitty looked almost identical, if the marines didn't study it enough, they wouldn't notice that the ears were off and the paws as well. Regardless, they were just going to carry out the body with the hammer atop it, but he couldn't help but feel like he was defiling the dead.

As he raised up slightly he extended his hand, waiting for the girls to come closer she could give them all mustache makeovers.

Mildra gave a wide satisfied smile as the properly shaped girl patted her on the head, this simple gesture of kindness was enough to let her forget about the pain in her shoulder, more so it felt like a weight and tension was lifted off her suddenly at that moment. She drew in a deep breath and exhaled slowly. Returning back to her curious nature she crouched down and straightened back up as she looked over the girl, she was covering her body with those strange vestments like most outer world people seemed fond of, she had no idea how anyone could wear things that were so constricting. Leaning in she curiously sniffed her a few times before she sent her a big smile.

"Ahhaa! Mildra can tell miss is a good girl! Mildra is a good girl too, as is Pojo! Right Pojo?" She stated her chicken nodding in agreement before extending a wing in frpnt of her breast and bowing politely, in a manner that could easdily be recognized as far to polite and intelligent for your averqage chicken, especially considering the uncouth and wild nature of Mildra.

"My god, girl. Where have you been, and when's the last time you bathed? You smell horrible; they could probably track us just by trying to find the biggest reek of meat in several miles."

"Ba-th-ed? What is bath-ed? Mildra has been in a strange meat filled box for a really really long time, it was super dark and it was just Mildra and Pojo all alone! Mildra survived because there was lots of meat and water in the box! But it was so lonely, even with Mildra's best friend Pojo it was so dark and quiet... and the whole world kept shaking underneath her. Then after a long long time A couple of brainless flat chested girls opened the top of the box and Mildra got out with Pojo, then when they were taking Mildra through the inside of their giant monsters stomach Mildra met her master, who she had been searching for for a long long time. But then more of those blue and white crazy girls started attacking us and then there was the super long armed girl and the furry sorcerer and now the girl that makes great flashes of light and sound to destroy things. Mildra is very confused, this outside world is so different from hers that Mildra is a little bit overwhelmed, but now that Mildra found her master she will teach Mildra all about the world!" She declared enthusiastically extending her arms and waving them in the air in a circular motion to add effect and drama to her story, because everything you say is better when you move your body when you say it, thats what Mildra had come to believe. Mildra leaned in close to her ear and held up her hand to whisper something to her.

"Psst, master seems to have a lot of sorcerers around him, he must be really great to have control over so many formidable girls hmm, do you have sorcerers powers too?" she whispered quietly into her ear with total sincerity and seriousness in her voice. She was of course ignorant to a great many things of the world outside her home, one of them being devil fruits and devil fruit users. In Mildra's home only the strongest survived. Those who left into the world and come back became the elders, protectors, and raisers of her home in charge of guiding, bringing up, and watching over the young lings until it was their turn to leave. They must have gone through similar trials in the outside world as she did, though they never were allowed to talk about what happened once they passed through the festivals climax. Mildra was just lucky that she had Pojo to help guide her, Pojo was afterall one of the smartest people in her whole village. The fuzzy sorcerer girl shed her fur to become a smaller brainless girl, Mildra was quite shocked at this, she had never expected there to be anything else underneath the fur let alone a small brainless girl. She used her powers and made a recently fallen girl look like herself covered in fur. Mildra got a puzzled look opn her face before Pojo began to cluck and flap her wings a few times.

"Ooooohhh ok, she can use her powers to make other girls look like her for a distraction of the brainless girls. She must be super smart like Pojo!" She excitedly stated her eyes practically having stars in them at the sight of these strong girls in action. Mildra hoped to one day become a strong and fierce warrior like the protectors she grew up with.

"Ok Miss senior apprentice, Mildra will follow you to where ever master wants us to go!" She declared giving a big child like smile towards her newfound companion. Surely things were beginning to look up for Mildra.

"It's Mariko." She said, sloshing through the shallow water towards a large wall. It looked like, if there was this much flooding in the basement, it had been set just under sea level. Calculations began to form in her mind as she slammed her fist into the wall, sending out a flaming, smoking explosion behind her with very slam of her fist. Though the shockwave caused parts of the wall to shake and the water to shift wildly, she remained uninjured by the detonations. After a little work she had blown her way through into another section of the basement that was dry, if a little musty.

Mariko stumbled into the hole and the new room and dropped to one knee, not looking back to Yaksha as she spoke loudly enough for him to hear her. "Not looking for suggestions. This is probably the worst place for you to be right now." She told him, her voice sounding thick. She took a few deep breaths and then tensed. She pressed her head and her hands against a pillar in the darkness and coughed loudly, vomiting up a mixture of bad food and blood. She immediately forced herself away from the wet pillar and the smell and slammed herself into the other wall, taking deep breaths. "Fucking..." She started, not finding much energy to keep talking.

It took a little longer for her to gather herself and look around the room. It didn't make a lot of sense to her, but she knew her construction. If she could build a boat, she could take one apart. A building certainly wasn't the same, but stress points, supports, all that garbage that was too complex for her to explain were build into her knowledge. There were weak points all over. A pillar might be too far to one side, the ceiling not properly supported. After all, this Marine base was likely here for years, rebuilt onto the same foundations. Mariko was a walking demolitions system and she knew it.

Mariko let out a short pained shriek as she once again opened the burned scar on her face and ran her nails into the cuts on the outsides of her wrists. Blood dribbled to the floor and like some kind of mad artist she began to paint the quiet basement, not having the time for explanations or complaints from Yaksha. She was using her bare hands to draw rings of blood around some of the pillars. She finished up against one last supporting wall, punching at it with her raw knuckles. Tears from pain and anger mixed with her blood and stung her wounds. All she needed was a single thought and the entire basement would blast to pieces, and the upstairs would have no means of supporting itself. Who knows what kinds of fuels might get caught up in the blasts as well, as she didn't give a thought to where all the supplies were stored.

She fell to her knees against a door marked with an exit symbol and found it unlockable from the inside. The woman scampered to a corner nearby and coughed up a thin fluid again, exhausted and ill from her stay. She blamed the guards themselves for making her sick to her stomach. She leaned on the doorframe and looked back to see if that pirate was still hanging around. "Hey. I might need some help getting out of here." She said haggardly. "And you'll wanna be outside for the fireworks." She added, looking for little more than a shoulder of support.

Elizza stared at Mildra, and tried her best to ignore the smell, or the rambling tone of the girl. Her brain began to whir to life slowly as she listened to Mildra speak, and she finally gave a slightly forced smile, as she stepped after Nat, leaving Mildra just behind her. "My name is Elizza. And there's a lot you have to learn; we'll get to that later. For now...let's see..." She cursed under her breath as she lifted the fake cat child, stopping by Nat just long enough for a suitable beard to disguise her facial features.

"Don't know about magic, but this here's Nat. He can make carpet on anything he touches. He's going to help us make our escape." She slapped the child on the back, and then inhaled deeply; though her chest hadn't been disguised, she could still work with the disguise she had. The pirate walked outside, carrying the carpeted boy on her shoulder, and glancing outside.

She started as she exited the outpost; she'd expected to see at least a few marine outfits, or armed men. Instead, all that could be seen was a few straggling men, seeming as lost as on-guard. She still moved out quickly, oozing an aura of confidence as she lay the carpeted child on the ground, then waved one of them close.

"Find the marines and tell them one of the pirates is dead. Shot him myself."

"Pi-pirate? The fu-"

"You didn't hear the siren? Battleships are on the way. There's at least four more. Now go find some marines and make sure this kid gets taken care of!"

She shoved the carpeted boy against the hunter, then waved the rest of the crew out. It seemed they'd be reaching the ship with less trouble than they'd first expected.

Meanwhile, Yaksha was watching Mariko blast her way into a drier portion of the basement. Using the quick distraction, he began to grab large handfuls of the brackish water, pouring it over his face and washing clean all of the hair dye that the marines would've noticed. He ran hands through his hair, slicking it back as well as possible, and threw the now-broken glasses into the puddled water.

"One moment, dear. They'll have circulated descriptions by now."

He lept airily through the hole, and stopped dead when he saw the woman clawing at herself, drawing intricate symbols on the ground and walls. He spoke nothing, his eyes simply taking in the details, before he finally spoke in a voice hoarse with wonder. "Your blood can explode, too, I take it? This power you have only gets more and more useful." He ran hands over his cheeks and nose, plucking off small pieces of flesh-colored putty, and throwing them in his pocket with the contacts. Hands slipped behind him, fumbling at the pants he wore, before he finally drew out two long iron rods.

Before long, the man standing before Mariko had almost no resemblance to the man that she had seen above-ground. His height and build were roughly the same, but his gait was almost a lithe glide across the dirt, and his entire form gave off a frightening sense of insouciance as he crooked an arm. "Merely take my hand, Mariko. I'll be more than happy to escort you outside. From there, we can set things up." In the dark, his eyes burned with a strange light that made even the simplest act sinister.

"Let's get to the boat, my dear. We'll set sail, before the marines begin their investigations in full. With any luck, we can coordinate our escape with the complete collapse of this outpost; the chaos will work as an excellent cover for our sailing ship."

Nat touched both the faces of Elizza and Mildra, somewhat more reluctant as he touched the sweaty girl, but he had to do it. Nat rose up to his feet once again, looking both left and right he examined the halls quite quickly, looking at the armed girl whom had recently made an appearance. They hopefully wouldn't remember her description, because he didn't want to linger for someone he didn't know. That was, unless she had money to spare or some sort of treasure, but being fresh out of prison, that was too unlikely for even him to wager on. He shrugged once and turned back to the exit, it was only a few feet away and by the time he had noticed, the carpeted child was gone.

He looked around confused at first, then he heard the sound of Elizza yelling just outside, something about helping this boy. Obviously it was the carpet lad he had created, there was no other injured male in here but himself. Hopefully she had gotten rid of any marines out the door and he'd be able to leave happily without much hassle. Amelia, she was obviously more calm than he was, her body covered and disguised, making Nat laugh a little at her mismatched colors.

"Damn it i miss those times..."

The teen thought as he stopped and thought about all the stupid situations he had ever gotten into while she was at his side. Come to think of it he had a pretty strange childhood, the two of them together were probably the most wildly known duo on the island. They were the bonny and clyde of their time, even when it came to the occasional theft. Those two were inseparable in their youth, and now that he found her again, he didn't really want to lose her again, she was his best friend.

Meanwhile, Amelia had been busy directing traffic alongside Elizza, the few remaining marines now running off with the dead body in their hands. Luckily that bullet hole was covered, but how long would it take for the carpet to soak up the blood and reveal it? Only time would tell, but by then they should be long gone and on their way home, well, on her way to their home. She still had no idea where the hell she was going after this was all over, her ally left her and if she was gone, the ship was gone to, she was stranded. She'd have to follow them, well she would, she did have Nat's hammer, she could get whatever the hell she wanted from him.

She smiled sweetly, turning to the older female with somewhat of a happy look as she folded her arms behind her.

"Any chance...i could come with you guys?"

"Don't worry about what I can and can't do." Mariko groaned, looking Yaksha's new form over as he offered her his arm. She put a hand on his shoulder and put her weight onto it, intending to use him in a rather lowly manner as support. Not able to merely keep a grip though, she soon shifted to holding her forearm against him instead. She was really too tired to worry about setting things up or coordinating whatever. Right now she was barely even focused on the next step in her life. Like often occurred for a drifter on the seas, you just ended up going where the next ship did without concerning yourself about the wheres and whys.

The staircase out of the basement felt pretty long, but Mariko seemed to have walking energy even in her state. "Oh." She added as Yaksha finished talking a little about the surrounding chaos. "And don't call me 'dear' again, or I'll blow the front of your face out the back." She told him. The tone and the smile on her face said that the comment was jovial, but something in her eyes said that wasn't quite so true.

Yaksha couldn't help but give a lopsided grin as he made his way around the corner, his voice low and soft as he spoke to Mariko. "As you wish, my sweet." He chuckled a second later, before shrugging. "Alright, I apologize for that one. But still, you had to have seen it coming." He shook his head slightly, and did his best to glance into Mariko's eyes without making it obvious he was. He could catch the faintest glance, but even that second told him enough; the woman on his arm was a strong one, a woman he would've been pleased to try and break any other time.

But the day had been long, much too long for the pirate. He was tired; tired of the world, tired of dealing with idiots, tired of everything falling apart in his hands, but most of all, just tired. He could already feel his eyelids drooping, but his pace was no slower than the wounded Mariko's as he finally rounded the corner, only to see Elizza. He grinned at them, and then nodded to Nat. "Good to see you made it out alright. And that...is that one of the marines? In your kitty suit? My, you are resourceful."

He gestured Elizza close, and let Mariko go, only to collapse onto her shoulder. The female pirate buckled slightly, but managed to steel herself as the pirate leaned on her.
"Looks like Nat's friend wants to join us."

"Let her. It's been much too long since we landed. I need to sleep, Elizza..."

"I know, Yaksha. We'll get to the ship, and then you can rest."

He paused, seeming to consider the idea, before shaking his head.

"No good."

"No goo-no good!? We're all wounded and tired, and you're saying we can't leave? Are you giving up, Yaksha?"

The pirate's eyes opened wide, piercing her as he spoke in a slow, soft voice. "Elizza...these marines are not stupid. They were caught off-guard, and they had no time to think. We left them plenty of time, now. What, if you were in their situation, would you do?"

"I'd...I guess I'd probably try to cut off their mobility." She paused, the last word coming out slowly as inspiration dawned on her. She stared at Nat and Amelia, before cursing. "Shit. It must be rigged."

"Yes. We'll need a new ship."

"And you propose we steal a marine boat? That won't stick out in the slightest."

"No, no. We simply hitch a ride." He turned to Mariko, and grinned wanly. "Mariko...do you have any sunglasses?"
