NYEH HEH HEH Posts: 860 Group: Member Member #950 Joined: Jan 10, 2010	I wanted to see if we could make a character with social standing in certain areas. I.E. Prince, King, Duke, etc. OR even Mayor or Son of Mayor. I wanted to rp a character of social standing, not for any kind of power (I'll play a prince instead of a king if I have to), but just so that he could be known. PLUS this does not mean I expect to have an SD bonus! Actually, I would go so far as to give up sd for this character. To tell you the truth I doubt I would even leave the country/home with this character, unless a certain crew (Marine or Pirate) interests him an extreme amount. But then this likely won't happen for a while if I do decide to play him only within the boundaries of his own country. So Is that ok?

Is it just to have a character who is arbitrarily important before even establishing or fleshing him/her out in a story line? Also must other roleplayers recognize the royalty of a player character?

If the character doesn't stay in one country, then I agree. I'm also wondering what benefits the royalty status would give. If it doesn't give much more than simply being known then I don't see an issue with it, although it would makes sense if he was given an NPC as well I guess, like the Born Leader trait.

It doesn't exactly work like that- it's a decision not made by one person. One mod has to flag a character for approval and then another has to approve, so it at least takes two mods to get the job done.
