hey guys now i know the sites just getting back up and all but ive been trying to get an SL mod for like a mouth. the ones i have asked were ether busy or non responsive. now i can understand that people are busy and the like. so i thought that the crew im in could just find someone thats not in the crew but then im told that i cant do that....so i dont know i just figured i would post this and ask...i dont even know what im asking...yea i know fail -_-. umm i guess im just looking for a group opinion i mean there are those that say yes and those that say no....so yea XD thoughts? | |||||||||

This site is a very slow-paced site, it's something you're going to have to get used I'm afraid. When mods say they are busy, they are most likely talking about outside influences than being bogged down with too many SL's. If you check the general activity of the board, you'll see that the most common areas are the chat box and ooc areas, where people simply talk casually about anything rather than having to focus or devote time. If you came to RP as a hobby or as anything other than an occasional passing interest, I think you're on the wrong board. The bulk of the regular mods and members here don't RP like that. | |||||||||

We have a lot of sl mods. Just the only two who really mod any bit, are me and HL. We have other g-mods and higher, who would be happy to mod. But, Titann is on strike, J isn't on much anymore, Yuki dropped off the face of the earth, and I forgot who the last one was, but I'm sure they don't mod stories much. So, I say, we do as speak keeps talking. And make more sl mods. |

Ugh... Cy, I have told you that you don't need an SL Mod... I know that it's nice sometimes to have SL Mods, but you can't let not having one stop your SL, you guys can mod your own NPCs, and if you don't like fighting yourself, mod each other's NPCs. If my opinion itself isn't enough, Hainen said the same thing. I'm not chastising you for wanting an SL Mod, it just sucks that you have to delay an SL just because you don't have one. |

Umm.... not really, most RP sites I've ever been at, 72 hours is the expected wait time for the next post. This site tends to be a bit faster than that...... |

That's not true. Active RP-based forums are a lot faster than this one. The point is the atmosphere here is beyond casual. If you actually post IC on any given day it's a wast login in for the next three or four. That isn't above or in concordance with the norm. This isn't a site made for active IC content. Not to either defend or criticize the site, but I guess we have different experiences then. In the parts of the web where I grew up, the norm was few (high activity = 1-2 posts/topic/day), long posts with shared modding. I've been to a few ones where the standard post were one-liners or one or two short paragraphs, but yeah. The norm we've worked towards here (at least in my mind) does not compute well for a single mod to take care of. With the crew-system going, and 90% of our SLs being mainly beating up thugs (followed by a boss), nearly all of it can easily be modded by "eachother" in the crew. SL mods are there to provide more complex SLs, be in charge of NPCs during events, and help out the new guys who aren't so experienced. For a single mod to respond properly to each and everyone, the standard reply would need to be alot shorter in content in order to allow the SL mod to keep in control in an acceptable fashion, and respond in a logical degree. I'm not saying either way of the two is better, just that they should probably not be mixed. Edited by Hainen, Oct 10 2009, 11:44 AM.
