The lieutenant was already aboard of the battleship that was going to carry them to their next island. A very important mission was assigned to Division 5 and Kaito didn't want to fail at it. Their destination was Greensland, the farmers paradise. According to reports, many pirate factions established base their and are living by extorting the poor inhabitants. As a result of this, exportations dropped and nearby islands are slowly becoming without stock of fresh vegetables. it will be their job to drive those pirates out of the island and put an end to those evil schemes. However, Kaito was already growing impatient as his new recruits were nowhere to be found. The meeting hour had long passed and everyone was waiting for them to arrive. once they were there the ship would leave and head out to Greensland. "Typical from young recruits....always excited but never in time. I'll have a word with them after this." The marine was now watching over the city from the deck, trying to catch a glimpse of them. Being a perfectionist, this sure annoyed him, specially because they seemed quite capable at first. Still, he would give them the benefit of doubt, another failure and they would be educated by him or expelled. |

Yusuke took a short nap before his Division had to go on their first major mission.He got up and today decided to button up his aloha shirt, it being a special occasion.Strapping on his zanbato onto his back he made it out of the Marine quarters and with a yawn head out.He saw Benjamin alone and looked around curious. "Am I late or early, sir?" He was somewhat anxious and did not want to make a bad impression on his first mission. |

Lifting himself from a bed while opening his mouth to manifest a loud yawn, Riku had to reach Loguetown's port quickly. The recent Marine soldier brushed his teeth as quick as he left up, and rushed out of the door's house while holding a sandwich. He ran swiftly as he could, crossing the main plaza, or more importantly, the execution platform to follow the route towards the port; his great adventure would start and new objectives would have to be fulfilled. Trouble was nowhere near today, he freely passed by alleys, which were considered dangerous with extremely ease, without having anything to worry about. His arrival at the port would be precocious, being able to notice his Division Lt, and other member from it already there for the voyage; it seemed pretty exciting. Riku approached, now lowering his speed, shifting from running to walking; holding tightly his katana by his hands; whilst the sandwich was already deep in his stomach. Once positioned beside them, a whispering like greeting escaped Riku's mouth, as this abide by they're perimeter while looking onto they're eyes. The greeting seemed really military alike, whilst Riku placed his hand sidewards closing on his forehead and glancing both the men, transmitting conviction for his job. "Greetings, Lt Kaito and Officer Henshin. I hope i have not appeared late." It seems that someone was missing. At last the two new recruits finally showed. Kaito, who had patiently waited for them quickly approached them to give them their orders, the lecture would be given later. "We are going to depart now, destination is Greensland. We have an important mission there, however, this trip might be dangerous too as we are going to cross a pirate area. Precaution is advised while we cross that area but i also want you guys alert. if you see anything suspicious call me without thinking twice. Now, find yourself something to do, theres plenty to choose from." Then, giving special attention to Yusuke, he patted him on his back and congratulated him for his promotion. "Well done. It was well deserve and i hope to see you climb even further. Keep the good work Ensign." Saluting both of them, Kaito then left to order the departure of the ship. they were already late but he would compensate it on sea, by traveling at high speed. Soon, the ship began to move and slowly leaving the city behind. The lieutenant gave it a last look that would work as a last goodbye, before entering in his room. The new ensign chuckled at the attention and treated it as it was nothing. "Thank you, sir." He got on the ship and looked around as it quickly began moving and knocked Yusuke off balance not having expected to move so fast so soon but he caught himself in the air.He looked at Riku and asked him, mainly to be friendly. "Oi! Recruit, want to work on our combat skills?" he said with a calm face. |

Killing Boredom... _________________________ Thinking only in the abstract, gazing the horizon as the ship became further distant from the city, Mitarashi Riku thought how Loguetown was quite peaceful, and a good place to live. Well, leaving aside the Bandits incident. Riku sighed when thinking of this, leaning himself towards the rails, placing his elbows over it and observing the city until it would vanish, as only the ocean was now on sight. Damn, how much time it would take till the next stop. Now he sighed louder, wondering if he could catch someone's attention. In other words, he almost died of tedious while wondering what his Lt did inside his office. Riku was very bored, what could he do to keep himself busy, in a ship located in the middle of the sea? Fishing? Playing Cards, rather, was there any cards to play with? He diverted his attention from the outside, and glanced towards the deck, as all he could see was the soldiers sleeping; complete laziness, so to speak. Also, the idea of the ordered special mission floated in his mind. He considered in asking the Lt, however, it seemed that someone intercepted his reasoning as thee decided to walk over to the Lt Kaito's personal room. That someone was Yusuke, whom offered Riku to a display of skills between both of em. Riku really considered the offer, since thee was extremely bored, with nothing to do in this tedious day, unless sleeping was an option. Yusuke drew his sword and ran at Riku "With style!" he hopped forward and thrusted forward his blade and as he did so spun the hilt to make side stepping much more difficult.He knew that Riku was an assassin and he felt that some real-time combat training would help carve Riku into a great weapon of justice. | ||||||||

Before Riku's eyes, his recent sparring opponent drew his sword and shouted out a rather unusual response from the one that Riku was excepting. Not only that, he also would thrust his blade forward attempting to make contact with Riku and prolong the move, well, hindering Riku's task. Riku prepared himself to counter and/or simply dodge it, however, the blocking option seemed somehow safer according to his current posture. He stood casually, not prepared for the surprise attack form Yusuke who swiftly made his move. This would call for a nimble jump backwards, and in a split moment, Riku unsheathed his weapon whilst Yusuke holden off his offensive move. Riku released a whispered sigh, while he placed his left leg behind, and the opposite forwards, deviating both legs from each other, as this stroke his own blade against Yusuke's one, slightly repelling the blade away, dragging it towards Yusuke's right side, with Riku taking two long steps backwards to take the chance to slightly breath, because this would not know if Yusuke would keep to his offensive. Riku was better off, if he had time to prepare himself, but what could he do? To his knowledge he faced someone higher, he shouldn't deny, or so he thought. Soon, the marines around began to gather to see the skirmish between two fellow companions. It wasn't unusual for two soldier fight a bit, not at all actually, but it always caused some excitement and curiosity. The people surrounded the two, leaving them a fair space to fight. At the same time, marines began to pick sides, with he majority picking the superior officer, Ensign Yusuke, specially because the other was just a new recruit still, some supported him because of that, they were in the same situation. Shouts of their names became louder and after a while it seemed they were in an arena, fighting like gladiators. this, of course, drew attention of Kaito who was resting in his officer. Quickly getting up to see what was going on, Kaito exited his room right after, finally coming into sight of what was going on. Swiftly moving around the crowd, he quickly reached the front row where he saw his two new members fighting. however, he wasn't going to lecture them, actually he was going to watch the whole fight as this was a good opportunity to see their skills in combat. He then just waited there to see the fight unveiling before is eyes. | ||||||||

"Excellent form recruit! But remember that the bigger the sword the bigger the chance I have to hit!" Yusuke got a tight grip on the hilt of his blade and reeled back his sword as he advanced forward careful with his footwork and then brought around his blade in a swing much like one would swing a baseball bat though with his blade's blunt side not wanting to injure his companion. The recruit didn't seem like the kind of man who was a match for him as far as pure strength goes and he knew that his speed and technique would be his claim to fame. |

The words from Yusuke whom was currently an Ensign, resonated in Riku, making him quite proud of himself, though it was not part of his personality to appreciate others compliments, because he knew himself, that he had the chance to provoke some damage and the confidence for that. Also, he had not the time to receive such compliments wholeheartedly, since the Ensign before him, was now delivering quite a strong blow. However, it would not be enough to surpass Riku's reflexes and senses. His keen eyes followed the swords motion, allowing Riku to feel the strength behind it, yet, the speed was lacking. Riku swiftly approached the Ensign, wielding his blade in his left hand, Riku carefully, yet, quickly placed his right foot forwards, blocking the strong blow with his blade, which was being gripped firmly by his left hand... Riku was now thrown of balance, to the point where he would need use his right hand palm to repulse him back from the floor, for an attempt to deliver a front kick towards the Ensigns mid section. Also from the corner of his eye, Riku couldn't fail to notice the Lt's presence and along with it, the feeling of being stroke with the reverse side of a blade... someone was going easy on him. Yusuke saw the recruit fall of balanced and was somewhat disappointed but upon seeing the recruit manage to react and attack in a single swift movement, he was fairly pleased.Using he free hand he met the Recruit's kick with a punch.Yusuke hurt his hand slightly by managed to negate the attack thanks in part to his superior physical strength. "You can be as fast as the winds themselves but without enough strong you're attacks are like the breeze." Yusuke brought his zanbato back over toward Horaji using the broad side of the blade to knock him out of melee range to see if he would either retreat or go in for a risky strike. |

A loud chuckle was heard, after Yusuke's word's reached Riku's ears whom could be found with his foot steady against Yusuke's fist. The broad side of Yusuke's weapon rushed trough air, attempting to hit Riku, who tried to regain balance. Thus, the foot which had connect with Yusuke's fist, would rise, and by using his supporting right hand, he'd jump back barely avoiding the strong swing from Yusuke, which to add, it ripped away the front his Marine suit, leaving yet, a bruise. " ... " Riku holden his weapon in his left hand, tightly keeping his grip, as his skin was noticeable near his stomach area. He stood, with a downcast gaze, setting it on Yusuke. He awaited, in the middle of the "crowd". |

Yusuke had noticed the Liuetenant watching but he did not want to make the Recruit look like an idiot having his attacks countered or simply dodged.He decided just out of an act of the little compassion he had in his heart he would give the Recruit a moment of glory among the other crewmen.Yusuke ran in holding his blade up high swinging it down hard. "Can you fight for Justice!? Meteor Strike!" He flashed Riku a sly grin and missed the attack of his own accord, leaving a wide open spot for Riku to land a hit.The look in Yusuke's eyes clearly sent Riku the message that this was the time for himself to charge in on the offensive. The Recruit simply stood, still observant of Yusuke's actions as this shouted out the word "Justice" towards Riku, and soon enough , a peculiar name would also rush trough everyone's ear, it seemed rather aggressive, not to mention the one shouting it, the Ensign came from above swinging down his weapon as Riku, perfectly predicting the swords motion, simple sidestepped leaving the slash to pass beside him, whilst himself, placed his katana above Yusuke's weapon, and tilted his handle down, preventing the Ensign from being able to swing his weapon towards Riku's side. "Officer... you are tainting my pride." Riku whispered... words only directed towards the Ensign, whom had his weapon being covered by Riku's Katana, although, obviously Riku couldn't keep that stance much longer, due to they're difference in strength; not that Riku had very few strength, but the Ensign was surely powerful. However, when Riku himself glanced over to the Ensign, he'd brush his long hair away from his eyes, revealing them, and once again... in a whispering tone, with his eyes fixating the Ensign, he'd speak by a brief moment. "Excuse me" Knowing the easiness of how the Ensign was dealing with him, using the broad side of his weapon... was he too kind? Or was it for show? Riku wondered, as he ripped his upper clothes. The logo of the marines floated towards the soil, in the remnants of a white shirt, as Riku closed his eyes and began removing himself from the center of the ship, isolating his own self towards the stairs leading bellow the deck. |
