If you're new here, you may have some questions. Please take a moment to read over this foreword; you may find many of your concerns addressed here. The Story This One Piece RP takes place in an AU (Alternate Universe) in the future of the canon story. Long ago, the death of the first Pirate King, Gol D. Roger, sparked the beginning of what would later be known as 'The Golden Age of Piracy'. Numerous as the stars in the night sky, pirates from every corner of the world set sail for the grand line, fueled on by dreams of treasure, glory, and adventure. Crews were born who's member's names would be spoken of for all time. Battles of epic scope and proportion were fought. Empires rose and fell. At the height of the era, one legendary crew found One Piece. The Strawhat Pirates, some 80 years prior to the Role-Play's timeline, discovered at Raftel the treasure of the first Pirate King. For decades they were the kings of the Grand Line, the undisputed, legendary crew that conquered all odds, that found their dreams and, carved out a legacy that would ignite a new age of piracy, burning brighter and hotter than even the Golden Age, for all time. Fifty years after the death of The Second Pirate King, Monkey D. Luffy, the new era, the Age of Dreams, continues on. The Basics This site is, at it's core, a Free Form style Role-Play. For more information on this form of RP, please check out the tutorial section. To help track advancement and regulate combat, the site uses a basic four stat system, with several other stats and features that are all derived from these four basic statistics. The rules may, at a glance, seem complicated. Please take your time and read them all. As you develop a feel for the basic, most fundamental rules, the rest will become easier to understand. The most important thing to remember is that the statistic system is a guideline and merely serves to track progress. This board is not a pen-and-paper RP, complex calculations do not determine the outcome of any event. If, at any time, you find yourself confused or need help understanding some feature of the rules, feel free to inquire in the chat box at the bottom of the page. Most of the time, there will be someone onhand who is familiar with the rules and can help clear up any issues you may have. Goals More than anything, the goal of the staff here is to provide an enjoyable Role-Play environment where players of all levels of experience can create their own original character in the One Piece universe and adventure to their heart's content. We seek to promote a relaxed atmosphere where all styles of play are accomodated: whether you simply wish to play out your story in an interactive world, form a crew with other players and adventure cooperatively, or clash with the strongest fighters from around the world, you'll find the opportunity to do so here. The Role-Play is based on two principles: Respect and Reasonability. Everyone is here to have a good time. As long as each player is reasonable and follows the rules of conduct while respecting their fellow players, everyone is bound to enjoy themselves. What We Do The Moderator and Admin staff here has several duties. The first and foremost is to maintain balance. This means that we ensure that all players start on a level field. Nobody begins any stronger than anyone else. While characters grow over time, everybody starts at the same place. Our second major duty is to preserve the feel of the One Piece world. Almost every fan of One Piece will belong to other fandoms; it's an inevitability that people will draw inspiration from outside sources. This is alright, but please be aware that in the end this is not a Naruto or Bleach RP. This is a One Piece RP. Keeping the characters, powers, and lore organic to the OP universe is very important to the staff, and we'll go to lengths to protect it. This said...Welcome to the Role-Play!
