The Calm Belt is a sea area that surrounds each side of the Grand Line. These regions are constantly calm. No winds sea currents can be found, hence the name "Calm Belt". As a result, sailing through it is extremely difficult, especially because it is the nesting ground for the Sea Kings. Even if a ship doesn't not require wind or currents to sail, it would still be in danger of being attacked by these creatures that is the size of islands. Thus, this why the chances of entering the Grand Line this way are very puny.

The Red Line is a long continent that stretches across the entire world, from North to South, along the equivalent of Earth's Prime Meridian.

The Grand Line is the ocean current that follows an imaginary line that runs east to west across the middle of the world and perpendicular to the Red Line. In effect, it's the equator in the world of One Piece. The Red Line is a vast continent that circles the globe from north to south and functions as a Prime Meridian. These two Lines divide the two oceans of the world into four seas or Blues: North Blue, East Blue, West Blue, and South Blue. This stretch of ocean is said to be the most dangerous place in the world, and is sometimes referred to as the Pirates' Graveyard because of this reputation. Most believe that it is impossible to safely leave the Grand Line save at its beginning and end.
