Another beyond boring day in the Loguetown establishment. Sure, there was usually a lot of action -- for the higher ranked officials. Unfortunately, for young and reckless Seaman Recruit James Kusai, there was a whole lot of nothing to do. His last bust had been a while ago, and while it was a good one he hadn't even been as much as promoted. James sighed and leaned against the wall, cleaning his weapon to no avail. It was already shiny enough from the last four hours of cleaning it. "Good God, what is there to DO here?!" James was getting frustrated and restless. A Petty Officer tossed a crumbled piece of paper at him from across the way, conking him in the side of the head. "Shut up! I've had enough. Go outside if you're so bored, jamakusai." A lot of the higher ranking marines here knew him infamously, most had no sense of humor and didn't appreciate his antics. It was a coincidence that James Kusai sounded enough like jamakusai (meaning a pain in the rear end) that everyone could remember his name. James sighed again and headed out, spinning around his weapon like a performer's staff. Out in the bustling street, James decided to do what he usually did; made a fool of himself. Swinging around and spinning his weapon in the manner that a performer would, he made funny whooping noises and hopped around. Several passerbys glanced over and snickered. One young boy stopped, his eyes aglow. Now blaring out the generic circus theme with his lungs, James did some pretty amateur moves, but to any regular joe they looked rather professional. "Look at me, I'm a circus clown! Honk honk!" The boy who had stopped bursted with laughter. The Petty Officer that had sent him outside sighed and shook his head from the doorway. Tsuyoi and his gang, Thane and Nathan were slowly floating along; their next stop was the famous Loguetown, they could see the island in the distance, but it was just an hour away, maybe less. Tsuyoi set down in his captain’s chair in his room, he set behind a large oak desk, Thane set in a chair in front of him to his left, and Nathan set to the right, Nathan held his Rifle in his hands. Tsuyoi looked at them both and smiled, “So we need some supplies, and we are looking for a new recruit to join us, someone different, but we should also have some fun.” He laughed. Thane looked at him and spoke, “Captain, Think your right, one more person would be good, but for the fun, can we not cause any trouble this time, we shouldn’t make the marines look bad.” , Nathan nodded in agreement. Tsuyoi looked at them, and sighed, “ok, ok, fine, this will be just for supplies and a new recruit, Nathan you know where you should be, roof tops and stay there, follow us so you can be our eyes in the sky. Thane, your with me, stay by me, we don’t know how many enemies we have here.” Tsuyoi smiled. The ship rolled into the docks and some hands helped tie it up. Tsuyoi stepped off ship, Thane followed and Nathan ran to the nearest roof. Tsuyoi was supporting his marine clothing, however his marine jacket was different from most, it still had the marine symbol but had black fur on the sleeves and collar. Thane wore a standard marine Jacket, but didn’t show any signs of being a fishman; he had a straw hat covering his face. After a moment, they noticed a young marine swinging his sword and stuff around and making a kid laugh really hard, Tsuyoi laughed and looked at the young man, “Hey, What’s your name Marine.” Tsuyoi said. |

Amongst James' fooling around, his eyes laid upon a duo of tougher looking marines approaching him. James had never seen the three before and paid little attention. Then, suddenly, they moved in closer to James. The supposed leader of the duo saw James' antics and chuckled a bit, asking for his name. James stood at attention, holding his rod in front of him and proudly shouted "Jamakusai, sir!" After a long, awkward pause, James eyed the marine to see if he was chuckling. Then he realized he had probably made a mistake. Both of the marines looked extremely powerful, most especially the stronger of the two. This guy was at least a Captain, maybe even a Commodore. A Seaman Recruit making such a joke to a person of that high of a rank could mean pretty dire consequences. Quickly, James cleared his throat and said delicately "Ah, I mean Kusai sir. James Kusai." Rather than letting his head drop in shame, James decided to stick it out and keep his head held high. He wasn't all that scared or afraid, he just didn't want to get demoted any less. That meant being a chore boy again.. and that is not a fun task at all. James would more sooner actually join the circus. At least those guys can go to the Grand Line. Nathan watched the man with the rod from afar, his special ability allowed him to see the man, but not the man to see him. Nathan talked into the mini den den mushi, “Everything is clear, moving out.” He said. Tsuyoi heard but didn’t talk back, he looked at the man, who made a joke, and Tsuyoi clearly laughed, but the man soon fixed it, “That’s a good joke, I liked it.. My name is Tsuyoi Kaze.” He said with a smile and nodded to the man, “Commodore Tsuyoi Kaze.” Thane added in with a smile as Tsuyoi looked up at him. “ it’s just Tsuyoi. James... was it? Well that was quite funny, I like that, keep up to the good work” Tsuyoi said with a smile and walked away, Thane however stayed behind with the boy, Thane looked at him. “My name is Captain Thane Fisher; it was nice to meet you.” Thane said, as he went off into a different direction from Tsuyoi. Nathan jumped from the roof top and right in front of James, He smiled and nodded, “I’m Nathan.” He said as he rushed off different from the other two and climbed back onto a roof, people watched them, and they all disappeared into the crowds. A young woman holding a rose appeared in front of James and handed it to him, “Beware of that man.” she said as she walked off with a smile. Edited by ZoulyKen, Jun 21 2012, 03:07 AM.

All of a sudden it seemed he was bombarded with introductions. First, the Commodore. James smirked a little. He knew it. His buddy next to him seemed to be a little more proper as he corrected Tsuyoi and used his marine title. Some people were all about that prestige crap, but it seemed that the Commodore -- er, Tsuyoi -- was a little more laid back because he insisted to just be called by first name. James liked those kinds of guys.. usually higher-ranked people were pretty rude and not fun at all. The Commodore walked onwards, telling James to keep up the good work before he left. James was beaming. He'd never gotten a compliment so great from such a high rank before. This was going to get him some bragging rights at the base. Then, the Commodore's buddy introduced himself as a Captain; Thane Fatcher or something or another. He probably had gotten the last name wrong so he decided he'd just call him "Captain Thane". That would probably slide. Then, out of nowhere, a third person hopped off of a roof and landed right in front of James. James jumped in surprise. He didn't realize until after the man said his name that he was a fellow marine, most likely in cahoots with the Commodore since he had decided to introduce himself. But why was he on the.. then James noticed his rifle. Ah. A sniper. James wiped his brow and relaxed as the third marine walked off. He hadn't even noticed the three walked off in different directions. Then, suddenly, a fourth introduction, from a young woman instead. What was odd about this introduction is that she didn't appear to be a marine. She handed James a rose, which James took with a wink. James wasn't one to be shy around ladies, but he also wasn't much of a romantic so he didn't have any reason to be neither shy nor extra confident. With a couple parting words of warning and a warm smile, the girl departed. "Thanks for the war- wait, what do you mean beware?! Hey, where'd you go?!" James' eyes shifted through the crowd but he found no signs of the young woman. What a day. Already he had met four interesting people. |

Tsuyoi made his way to the base, he was just strolling around, having fun but he was very aware, there had to be some people after him. However he reached the base saluted the marines and strolled into the Captain’s office. The Captain of the base was setting behind his deck, and looked up when Tsuyoi walked in, the other two marines beside him got into a fighting stance but backed down once they saw the marine uniform. “Welcome, I am Captain John Knight, and who might you be.” The man looked at Tsuyoi and smiled putting out his hand for a hand shake, Tsuyoi smiled and shook the man’s hand, “Commodore Tsuyoi Kaze, good to meet you, I would like to talk about a young man, by the name of James Kusai. I would like to recruit him for my team, he is interesting.” Tsuyoi said as he set down. The Captain and two other men saluted Tsuyoi when he told them he was a Commodore, He smiled, The captain set down and spoke, “Commodore Kaze” Tsuyoi stopped him before he could finish, “It’s just Tsuyoi, no Commodore.” The Captain looked at him then continued, “Commo… Tsuyoi, It’s an honor to have you here today, let me look into this James Kusai and I will see, for now you should look around, I can have some guys show you around.” He said. Tsuyoi smiled and declined the offer for someone to show him around, He stood and so did the captain and said bye before disappearing further into the base. Thane strolled through the streets, looking all over the place, Loguetown was an amazing city, however Thane got lost and ended up running upon James again, He patted James on the back, “Hey, James, I got lost but ended up next to you, how about we talk a bit, tell me your story. It wasn't long after he had been standing there for a couple of minutes with a rather dazed expression that James was approached by Thane. James yelped when Thane patted his back because he wasn't expecting it, then calmed down when he turned around and saw it was just another marine. "Oh, whew. Heya, Thane. I don't know who that lady was actually. She was nice I guess, but I don't.." James' voiced trailed off a bit as he looked in the direction she had went. She was nowhere to be found. James cleared his throat and turned back. "Sorry. Did you say you wanted to hear my story? Well, I suppose. It's not much of a story. I've always been a jokester," To iterate, James ran into the street and took off his shoes, beginning to juggle them. He started whooping and hollering and finished with a rather fantastical feet. He threw his shoes up into the air and as they came down he kicked both of his feet into the air and his shoes gracefully landed right back on his feet.. and James landed less gracefully on his rump. James got up, adjusting his shoes and rubbing his behind. "Owow. See? That's me, that's how I've always been. It's not always appreciated in the marines, but.. that's okay in my book." James beamed. He loved his jokester lifestyle. |
