The Shark Kingdom was far away by now, not even a speck on the horizon anymore. Donnor was lying on his back, his hands behind his head as he gently floated out deeper into the ocean. He had plenty of energy left in him, swimming such a distance out to sea in tandem with the waves pulling him out was not much work really. It was almost as if the sea wanted him off land, to welcome him into its warm embrace. So many people took to the seas at some point in this day and age and Donnor was no different in that respect, but his ideals, his way of doing things was his own. For you see, Donnor was in no rush to get things underway. Everyone who went out to sea was automatically on the look-out for adventure or something interesting to happen. Donnor however wasn't. He simply wanted to relish the moment, because truth be told, nothing like this was ever going to happen again. This was his first time leaving home and whether he died right there floating on the waves or lived to breath again tomorrow, he wanted to make sure his memory was a good one. And what was more memorable than simply just resting in the sea and letting it guide him for a while. The waves splashing on his face didn't bother him. Being half-fishman, water was still as natural to him as land beneath his feet. He wasn't concerned about any of his supplies going amiss either. He was travelling light and anything of value was already secured to him. His spear was on his back, held on by a rope that was fastened to the top and bottom of the shaft. His sandals were fastned to his belt and so weren't exactly about to float away like the would have if they were on his feet. His anchor was bound to his arm and tucked neatly away under some bandages. Finally, there was his backpack. He'd treated it with special fats to insulate it and prevent it from getting too wet, but even if it did, Donnor didn't mind about the things inside getting wet, even if it was by seawater. It merely contained 3 securely fastened bento boxes with a sushi meal inside each, a sharp knife, fork, spoon, cutting board and a ladel for soups. Donnor was accustomed to eating raw fish and so if the urge to eat suddenly overtook him, he'd simply turn around and dive down and nail a particularily nice looking fish for a meal. He'd tread some water while he ate it and then be on his way. Still, he was far from hungry and too enravelled by the sea to be concerned with feeding himself. He looked up at the sky, spotting only a few clouds as they passed over the sun and shaded him as they went by. He didn't exert himself to move, he didn't worry about the next destination. (OOC: My sincerest apologies for the delays gentlemen. I've just spent the past few days sorting things out for college.) Donnor listened and watched carefully as Chuck spoke about himself. He had never heard of the Kage Kage no Mi before, nor the did he know much about shadow zombies. Still if they were a by-product of the fruit, then they obviously were not at fault for the powers of the fruit itself. Donnor couldn't hold it against Chuck for being a monster, but the fact that he embraced it so easily to the point of unzipping his head putting him a little on edge. Waru on the other hand was different. He was a Devil Fruit user and although the memories of his father being killed by devil fruit users were scarred into his memories, Donnor couldn't really see Waru as being a bad person. It was a tough situation indeed. Still his own exsistance had been brought into question. Seeing as they were both so forthcoming about their exsistances, Donnor could only really be the same. "I suppose it is odd for a human to swim such great distances, but I'm not entirely human. I thankfully got my mother's good looks, but my father's prowess when it comes to being able to handle myself in the sea. I'm a half-fishman you see and as such I really don't need a boat. So long as I'm semi-aware to what is going on beneath me, I'm fine." Donnor was still clinging to the boat, noticing that they'd actually been floating away during all the hullabaloo, "So, where exactly are we heading?" |
