Laharl was walking to the beach one day watching the blue skies feeling and enjoying the cold breeze from the ocean..He walked back inside the town for some grub.. He reached town and go in a nearby restaurant and ate plenty of food there..After eating he walk back to the beach..He was thinking of leaving the Gecko Island and travel other Islands...He waited till night time and got a wind of a rumor that a marine crew will be leaving at dawn.. Leaving everything at Gecko Island he waited nearby the ship that would leave by dawn..He was going to ride it without any permission.. He waited until dawn staring at the ship..He successfully ride it and it sailed with him..He decided to hid himself in a barrel nearby to be not found out... But sadly the boat that he ride on was no marine vessel..It was a pirate ship full of pirates of course..He decided to leave the barrel but as he comes out the barrel.. The captain saw him and was chased down inside the ship...He tried his best to look for some boat so he could ride it and escape the ship... After sometime of running he was cornered and tied down..Beaten down and was interrogated for valuable information about the marines...Laharl tried his best and didn't say a word even it cost him his life...One thing is for sure..Laharl was no traitor...
