Titan Within
A building rage, steel barred cage
Within my own mind.
I thought I could find some way out
of this labyrinth of bad decisions that pervades inside.
Take every look and glance as a chance for payback
In Advance.
Looking for a fight that isn't even there.

Every waking moment, haunted by dreams
of every single person I want to make bleed.
This Monster inside controls my mind,
Keeping me in the dark, completely blind.
A single minded desire to burn like fire,
In a ceaseless, unquenchable ire,
Forced to hurt all that I see.

But I'm tired of constantly wanting to throw down,
Gotta' hold up and calm down to finally move on.
But it'll always be there, waiting in silence,
Another chance for strife and violence.
The cage that imprisoned me, holds him too.
A face-to-face long overdue.
It will take some time, but I don't mind.
Behind these bars, I can begin
To finally stall the Titan Within.

Wendigo
A faint rumble.
The vocalizations of a black void.
An echo to lose oneself in,
Drowning in desire.
A small, cramped room filled with bile.
Viscous falls of fluid rush over bleached peaks,
Imprints on a pink canvas.
The pain, ever growing,
No end in sight.
I must find relief.

The hunt begins.
A descent from the North,
Boreas guides my way.
The strong winds bellow,
Winter's harsh messengers.
Trees sway, branches break.
Animals cower, too loud to sleep.
A light shines in the distance,
An invitation for dinner.
I must find relief.

I knock at the door.
Poor souls inside,
Know not what awaits.
Twice more, I knock,
Twice more they ignore.
With great strength, the barrier falls,
I make my way inside.
Nice and cozy,
Think I'll stay a while.
I must find relief.

I see her.
Cowering in the kitchen,
How appropriate.
Husband is gone, the children in bed,
Just the two of us.
I approach slowly,
The thud of each step weighing heavily
On the oak floorboards.
Nowhere to run now.
I must find relief.

I touch her face.
My long, slender hands;
Emaciated and ashen pale,
Caress delicate, cream-colored skin.
With a single, bony finger
Pressed against exposed teeth,
I hush the fearful fawn.
"Don't worry, my dear,
It will be alright."
I have found relief.

It has begun.
I gaze at her silken lavender dress,
Taking pause to wonder:
It's not every day your meal gift wraps itself.
I dispose of the fabric, it won't be needed,
"Relax and allow me to go unimpeded."
Our eyes meet.
Her azure soul reaches out to mine,
Attempting to explore the depths of scarlet seas.
Too late!
I WILL have relief!

I have finished.
Brightly colored stains upon peach walls,
Creating a wondrous masterpiece.
I must admit that I play with my food.
The children haven't made a sound,
Since their mom and I had fun.
The time has come to return home,
To sleep off this amazing meal.
But the pain never truly leaves me,
Soon it'll happen again.
I will need relief once more.
I always need MORE.

The Battle of Black Sun Plains

At dawn we marched, fifty thousand strong.
“Slaughter the colossi!” we shouted,
Brandishing cold steel above our heads.
The Captains stood regally,
Flowing silks of their noble houses
Draped over their imposing figures.

A days journey south of The Wall,
We were prepared for the worst.
The bleached gates parted slowly,
Revealing the lush outer lands.
The horizon beckoned,
Calling us to battle with giants.

Through Konjukai lay the titans’ den.
A rocky plain fit for monsters to dwell.
The sons of entropy stormed across the field,
Looking to meet us in combat.
I rushed ahead with my comrades,
Seeking glory and praise.

O, ghastly beasts, the chaos-born!
Built like Seireitei’s ashen towers,
Their naked frames bore unnatural hues,
Extra limbs and oddly shaped forms.
Their kidou strong, their reishi vast,
Warriors through and through.

We beat back our monolithic foes,
Hewing their proud limbs,
Splitting skulls against powerful steel.
Titan blood was strewn across the battlefield,
Its soil greedily consuming like a starving hound.
I sought to feed it more.

Then HE came. . .
O, how our Great Mother trembled beneath his mighty gait.
His powerful body loomed over our forces like a mountain,
With three eyes scouring our ranks.
Even the sun cowered in his presence,
And vanished from the sky.

Our time of victory did not last.
The Dark One razed our forces with Hellfire.
My own captain’s bones shattered
Under the weight of the Black Giant’s step.
Our blades snapped against his skin,
As did my comrades in his powerful grip.

I ran like the others,
Hoping to avoid a similar fate.
I looked back for just a moment,
To see the Black One staring directly at me,
Into my very soul.
My body went limp.

I no longer sleep
For fear that I will see his hideous gaze once more.
The walls can no longer protect us now.
We are but sheep,
He is the butcher.
The Dark One is coming.
May God help us all.
