yes now I'm going to start reviewing some games ive been playing.... well that pretty much covers it! Oh Omega I'm ripping your layout for your reviews rawh

So I shall start with a old and new game

Final Fantasy

Music

Overview: released first and 1987 the original final fantasy was to be SquareSofts final fantasy RPG game however it was far from that. Released first for the Nintendo entertainment system, it has since been remade for several other platforms such as the Sony Playstation, Gameboy, PSP and the iPhone. This review will be on the PSP version.

Plot: The plot centres around the Warriors of light who are on a quest to revive the four crystals, which control the four elemental powers of the world and defeat the four fiends that have taken control of them. It’s a pretty basic story nothing too complicated but it still has a pretty good twist at the end. And with the new releases there’s been some back-story added as well.

Graphics: Well it is a port of a NES game, so were not talking Uncharted level graphics here. But thankfully all of the sprites have been redone for the rerelease and look great. It has to be said the graphics are much nicer on eyes then some of the 3-D games I’ve seen.

Gameplay: again this is a port of a NES game. You explore in a 2D world (think Pokemon), visit towns, buy equipment and so on. When a fight starts you are taken to a different screen, where the battle takes place. In fights you have access to the basic RPG commands, you can attack with the weapon you have equipped, use spells, items, defend or run. The game uses a very basic battle system, you select each characters actions first and then each character including the enemies each perform their action in order mattering on their speed stat. Again nothing amazing, but it gets the job done. There are plenty of spells to learn from, attack-based spells, buffs and de-buff spells and stats effect spells.

Characters: there’s not very many named characters in final fantasy, each of the four Warriors are named at the beginning of the game when you choose their job. And none of them talk throughout the whole game. There’s a few supporting characters that you meet in different towns but none of them really do much. The only named bad guy is the knight Garland but again he’s not the most detailed character in the world. Again some of the new stuff have added some backstory.

Voice Acting: it was made in 1987 voice acting wasn’t around then in games…..

Music: the music to the game is as a whole very good, the Fight Tune is typically of final fantasy games quite catchy and the iconic Victory Fanfare is just as good as any other game. The dungeon music is pretty basic but none of them are really annoying.

Levels/areas: well with its big world to explore as well as four dungeons based off of the four elements. The levels are nice and varied but you could argue their a bit generic.

Overall: While for the first game in this series it’s really not as bad as you would think. Sure there’s hardly a story, there’s hardly any characters and the gameplay isn’t the most complicated in the world but it has charm and is a breath of fresh air from all the convoluted stories we get thrown at us these days. All in all it gets a solid 8/10.
