It's high time that we discuss the very worst games we've ever played. I've played alot of shitty games over the years, so I feel like dropping a massive curse bomb on them. |

Um...Devil Kings. I like it for it's characters but...the game sucks. You can fight and all with it but you die SO DAMN EASILY it's not even funny. And you won't always die just early, it'll be right when you get to the final ****ing guy. And even if you can bear all the retries it just gets boring after awhile. Even still, looking forward to Sengoku Basara 3. |

I don't mind DK, but I do agree that the difficulty is WAY too hard, you can't get the final weapons unless you've played so much that you've maxed out the character and the weapons AND the items. |

Jimmy Neutron is one of my most hated games. At the time I played it, the game proved WAY too difficult for a kid to complete due to the horrible controls. The bad graphics didn't make things better. Pac Man 3D was probably the worst PSX game I've ever played. Not only was it hard, it was hard for horrible fucking reasons. |

Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius Overview: My most hated game of all time. You know how really bad games can still end up okay in your eyes? But, if it happens to involve one of your favorite things, it is far worse. Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius is just that. Having jumped on the band wagon in 2001, this movie was amazing to me, with an all-star band soundtrack, great voice-work, and a storyline that could keep kids with ADD interested. It was the perfect kid's film. But when the game was made in 2002, we foolishly thought it to be an amazing game...we were wrong. Plot: The plot of the game follows the movie, with several changes. I don't know ever in the movie where Jimmy had to scout the goddamn asteroid they slept on for like, oh, 10 to 15 minutes of screen time. Though the storyline of the film was good, there was really no need to add so much to it. There was enough content in the film to qualify as a game, for Christ's sake. Graphics: Now, realize I'll be giving this game some rope, since it's an early 2000 quality PS2 game...just kidding, since Jak and Daxter was released a year before and was amazing by comparison. The graphics are terrible, characteristic of most THQ games. Ranging from horrible textures (very angular on somethings, it needed more smoothing) to character design and motions (Jimmy flaps his arms like a Chicken everytime he jumps), the look of the game is often enough to induce vomitting. Gameplay: The whole game plays like a normal platformer/adventure game, with a variety of missions you have to do. However, the controls are just a fucking train wreck. Sometimes the controls are unresponsive and the jump feature is horrid, since it has virtually no use due to its short height. On a sliding (or scooter) minigame near the end of the game, a kid at the time would find it nigh impossible to beat since the speed, combined with the lack of control is just way too difficult for a child, which the game was marketed to. Characters: Characters are also ripped from the movie, but have no real personality to them. There's nothing more to say. Voice Acting: I gotta' say this is a split decision. Voices fit, but the dialogue was stupid, filled with cliches and relatively unimportant shit. The only thing of worth the other characters say is your mission objective...that's it. Music: The BGM for this game is near non-existant, the whole thing sucks. It doesn't pull you in or try and sound good in anyway...simply crap. Levels: The stage layouts are very confusing, and it's easy to get lost in certain levels. Plus, as before, there are several locations that should not have become levels in the first place. Not only that, but there are only 6 in the entire game...I SHIT YOU NOT, there are like only six levels in the whole game...those six ARE the game. Overall: I don't even have to say it...THIS GAME IS HORSE SHIT!!! There are little redeeming qualities to this game. It is most certainly playable, but very boring and not worth the time. I give this game a 0/10 |

The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring Overview: When people think of The Lord of the Rings trilogy, they think of epic battles, deep characters, and drama...lots of drama. I actually played The Two Towers first since it was a great game with marvelousgameplay. But never did I think to buy the first game, since I hadn't seen it...until I did get my hands on it... Plot: It follows the Fellowship of the Ring closely, which is what I admire about the game. Despite this, the plot is too confusing for casual gamers, since it doesn't follow the movie like the Two Towers game did (following both the First and Second movies). There's not much to complain here. Graphics: Now, the graphics aren't too bad, but are prone to glitching and have certain flaws in them. Though, I blame the horrible camera angles and overall character motions rather than the game for that. Gameplay: Here is the horrid part...the game is boring as all Hell and some missions are as tedious as picking fly shit out of rice with boxing gloves. Missions drag on forever due to the large size of the maps and locations, which, in some cases, can lead to getting lost in the stages. The fighting is overly repetitive. You can literally press square over and over again until you win, with no combo system to be seen. The controls are a pain in the ass on occasion, with the jump being the worse of it. Every time your character leaps, it looks like they're on the damn moon and is very unwieldy. Otherwise, you play as either Frodo, Aragorn, or Gandalf, each with their own style of gameplay. Frodo is the most basic, throwing rocks and swinging his blade around. His missions are mostly stealth or puzzle based due to his strength. Aragorn is more of a brawler, using his sword and bow t odevastate enemies, though his gameplay is mindless due to the VERY stupid AI. Gandalf has magic, playing like Aragorn with a kick, but he's not that interesting, especially after the hundreth orc you've smote with a lightning bolt. Characters: The characters are like their movie and book versions, so not much is different. Voice Acting: I'm going to start this one off on a good note...Frodo is voiced by STEVE FUCKING STALEY! Steve does a nawesome job in this game with Frodo. I actually enjoy his monologues at the beginning of each new level. Now fo the part you've all been waiting for...EVERYONE ELSE SUCKS!!! It's true, all the voices fit, but just aren't pleasing to listen to, which speaks volumes about this game. Not only that, dialogue is horrid. To name an example, Pippin only talks about food when it's his turn to speak. It's all food jokes... Music: The BGM in this game is actually on the fence, not too good or bad. Though that is why it's horrible, it is just so average. Nothing much I can really say. Levels: There are only a few levels in the game, and the only thing I can truely say is that every one of them is fucking confusing...you WILL gte lost as least once, and it won't be a delightful experience getting back on track. Overall: Better than Jimmy, but not as good as Ape Escape 2. I give The Fellowship of the Ring a 2/10. |

Spyro: Enter the Dragonfly Overview: Other than ripping off a beloved Bruce Lee film title, "Spyro: Enter the Dragonfly" was the first Spyro game to be published and developed by someone other than Insomniac. Believe me when I say that this game marked the death of this series, just as Crash Twinsanity did with its series. Plot: Somewhere in the dragon realms (I guess), Spyro and friends are celebrating the pairing of dragonflies with their baby dragons (rescued in Spyro 3). The party is ruined by Ripto (2nd villain) who suddenly returns with Crush and Gulp by his side. He then whisks the dragonflies away, preventing the ceremony from continuing. Now, first let me start by saying there are SEVERAL holes in this plot. There's so many it's like a piece of fucking swiss cheese! First, where the fuck are they?! The Dragon Worlds? Avalar? The Forgotten Realms? WHERE?!!!! Second, why the fuck is Ripto back? What, did he survive the being burned alive thing? Was he revived by a spell of some sort? EXPLAIN TO ME!!! Finally, how the fuck can Crush and Gulp talk? They couldn't in the first game, and never showed signs of being able to. Yet, somehow, they can speak fluently in this game. How the fuck can they speak?! There are just so many things that need explaining in this game. Graphics: No too bad I suppose, but then again this game is known for fucking freezing up and glitching out of control. Gameplay: Same as the usual Spyro games, with a new breath system where you can cycle between breaths (Fire, Ice, Lightning, Bubbles). However, gameplay is slowed tremendously by long fucking loading times and the damn glitches, especially when you want to fight the final boss (Ripto) you have to hope to God the portal is activated, or you can't fight him. Characters: The characters are all returning from previous titles, so I can't complain. Voice Acting: Another thing...good voices, bad dialogue. Most lines are overly cliche or just stupid, especially Hunter's freak oit scene at the beginning. Music: Still awesome. I can't believe that this game managed to pull good music out of its ass without Stewart Copeland (drummer of The Police). Each song fits the levels and has a good sound to it. Levels: Now, the design is still fair, but some can be tedious as Hell to go through. Though, I still have to give credit where credit is due. Difficulty: Not the hardest of games, but still moderate for the kiddies. Overall: Still bad, with a few redeeming qualities. 3/10 |

Shadow the Hedgehog Overview: Another hated installment to the dying Sonic franchise, Shadow the Hedgehog is a game that reviewers love to hate for butchering the iconic characters and adding unnecessary gimmicks. I happen to agree. Plot: A sequel to Sonic Heroes, Shadow has amnesia, unable to remember who he is, but only snippets of events that are significant to him. In the city of Westopolis he comes across Sonic and a mysterious being known as Black Doom. Both sides are in conflict with each other, with the G.U.N. soldiers (Guardian Units of Nations) and the Black Arms, the alien race that the black doom is a part of. Shadow must now choose between the two sides in order to recover his memories. Now, it's good to see a spin-off dealing with a character other than the main heroes, and this is one of the few good points in any of the Sonic games save for one game...Anyway, the multiple endings and storyline paths do make the game interesting, but other factors interfere with the overall quality. Graphics: Still good. Sega and the Sonic franchise have been known for at least steady graphics in their PS2 series, so there's not much to complain about. Gameplay: Alright, here's the joke...what do you get when you mix a children's game series with excessive violence, guns and heavy, badass machines with almost no warning of such a transition? A shitty game...and Shadow the Hedgehog. Normally, I'd be loving every minute of this, but with full knowledge of the situation with Xbox live, I'm more inclined to disagree. The gameplay as usual is running really fast through a set course in the fastest time possible while collecting as many rings as you can as well. However, Shadow the Hedgehog also includes weapons and vehicles for Shadow to use. Neither adds any depth to gameplay, much to the point where halfway through the game I said "Screw it" and stopped using weapons until I actually needed it to advance. Another issue is like with many in the modern Sonic line up, there's too many obstructions to keep you from maintaining the speed that the earlier games allowed you to achieve. That takes out what was fun about the series in the first place: achieving ungodly speed and blasting through courses with it. Not only that, but you have missions to complete and methods of achieving a good or bad ending. By attacking certain characters or doing a certain mission, you'll start having to complete tasks that send you further down that path./ But in a game where speed is the key, you don't want to do missions. Plus, with the bad targetting aspects of the homing attack, you'll end up hitting the wrong target and end up being forced to a good or bad path. Characters: The cast returns from the previous games, though the only one adding anything to the game is Shadow, who takes the lead role, while the others fade into obscurity or simply help in a level to disappear later on. Even the main villain adds nothing to the game as I know he's going to disappear and never appear again in later games. Black Doom is essentially roped in with the forgettable movie villains in anime, "you'll never see them again afterwards, but for the next 90 minutes you think they are the most difficult challenge you'll ever face in your life." Voice Acting: 4kids... Music: Surprisingly good. Nice mix of several different styles of music to suit the environments. Levels: Highly detailed and beautiful, though the enemies ruin that. The purpose of older gameplay being ruined, the stages cannot be enjoyed to their fullest. Difficulty: Low to Moderate. Overall: I couldn't enjoy this game at any point. Despite ANY of the actual positive aspects the game had, the gameplay found a way to ruin it. Not as bad as Jimmy Neutron, but still unsavory till this day. 2/10 |

Another Century's Episode: R Overview: Having known about the series for a while, when I heard there was going to be a PS3 installment in the franchise, I had to get it, and lo and behold I was sorely disappointed. Plot: The story takes place in an alternate timeline where humans have settled on planets outside of the Solar System. Humanity settles on a planet called Eria, and instead of helping them, a group of androids called the Seasons rebel and kill them all. Now one of the Seasons, Autumn Four, must find help from mech pilots across the different universes to help her defeat the Seasons. Now, the story isn't bad, but there are things that just pissed me off. The plot's focus is very narrow, concentrating on only a few of the many series. Now I'd understand giving some that weren't very popular alot of exposure in order to make them more popular, but this is a fucking travesty. It takes the Macross titles and puts them on a pedestal above all other units. In fact, Macross Frontier is the only series to have unskippable cutscenes that are long as shit, not to mention unnecessary. Hell, I feel bad for the Super Robot Wars guys who got no exposure in the main storyline. Hell, I'd say most, if not all but Aquarion and Macross got real exposure in this game, and both of those fucking series are popular. Gundam got a bit, but it was only in a short cutscene where Kira (of fucking course it had to be Kira) takes down an enemy without killing her. Some are entirely forgotten like the Full Metal Panic pilots who disappear from the story after their personal level. Graphics: While not the absolute best, the graphics engine is pretty solid. The framerate is steady and smooth and the cutscenes are nice to look at. The mechs are the best aspect, looking amazing and incredibly detailed. Gameplay: Now, the game works similar to previous ACE game. You fly around a map shooting everything in sight and even fight a boss or two. However, controls and methods of gameplay were changed. Thrusters are now used with the X button. Now while the dash is implemented in the game it overall falls flat since it makes the mechs move very erratically and not smooth like in the previous titles, having to stop in mid-dash to change directions. Not only that, when in a dash it becomes very hard to resume movement, leaving the mech open to attacks. As for weaponry, the ammo system is gone, replaced with "tension" that is stored up to use weapons. This too is pointless as a mech doesn't work that way to begin with. Banpresto probably thought incorperating RPG elements into a fast-paced action game like this would be good, but they failed miserably. The tension system is a tedious grind for energy, only allowing access to a limited number of your weapons and limiting the amount of times you can use these weapons. Not only that, but not every mech and pilot has the same tension type. Some get tension by killing enemies, others by hitting them, and some by doing nothing at all. This makes gathering energy unfair as those who have to wait can't gather energy as fast as those who get tension by hitting enemies, and certainly not as fast as those who gain it by killing them. Those with the latter also gain energy by hitting their foes too, but far more than those who get tension by solely hitting a target. Besides that, the statistic system for mechs and pilots is absolutely pointless. It only serves to reinforce fanboyish opinions of the developers, making some mechs and pilots maxed out despite problems with comparisons to other pilots. Hell, the true Super Robot, The Aquarion's stats are some of the weakest in the damn game along with every pilot who is connected to it, while the Macross pilots and units have unbelievably high combat stats. Even within Gundam this is true, with Amuro, Kamille and Char trailing MILES behind Kira, Athrun and Shinn, the latter three having some of the highest stats in the whole game and nearly maxed out in every aspect. Then there's the floating. In levels where there is gravity, certain units float while others can't, forcing you to hold the ascend button. This is annoying as there's a height limit to the level and you may frequently breach it if you're not careful. There's also the targetting system which NEVER targets what you want it to. You're often stuck hitting something you don't want, and it gets annoying. Speaking of hitting, the melee combat is sluggish and awkward, very slow in comparison to the earlier games. Essentially, gameplay sucked. Even worse was the fact that to unlock every mech you had to play the game about 20 times through without skipping to the end. Characters: OH MY GOD this game pissed me off when it came to characters. I stated that with the plot the game focused on certain series, you haven't seen ANYTHING until you watch the cutscenes and dialogue. Though I can't read Japanese, I counted how many times I saw characters on screen, and let me tell you it's abhoring to know how many fucking times to see Lelouch and characters like him in this game. He along with the Macross Frontier and the rest of the Code Geass cast have the most appearances PERIOD. Not only that, LELOUCH finishes the final boss, not Autumn Four, who BTW, is a bland character to begin with as we don't see too much of her despite her role as not only the original character for the game, but THE MAIN CHARACTER. The most we see of the others are in levels that were designed for them, otherwise we don't get to see much. Not only that, the choices for some of the villains from the series not named Macross or Genesis of Aquarion are pathetic. Not only are they rare to see, but they're some of the easiest bosses in the game. The Hambrabi Squadron instead of Haman and Scirocco? Are you kidding me? Plus, let's face it, the three Destroy Gundams were a wast of time as well. Another wasted trio was the Crossbone villains who appear only twice in the story like so many others. Hell, SRW has NO villains, Gundam has 3 but they die really quick, Orguss' are seen once outside their initial levels and then disappear, Full Metal Panic has no villains, King Gainer's get two appearances, but they're, again, very easy. Macross villains get 6 appearances, the Aquarion villains get 2 or 3 appearances and are actually difficult, Code Geass gets 3-4 appearances and they're actually difficult. It's safe to say that either From Software or Banpresto was picking favorites. Voice Acting: All the characters whose VAs aren't dead are voiced by the actual seiyus who do their voices in the shows, and thus the acting is good, though I don't like the anime portraits as they often don't fit the emotion the character is trying to express. The dialogue is up for grabs since I haven't read the transcripts for the game yet. Music: Music consists of instrumentals from the actual shows that are represented in the game along with those of the game itself, which aren't too bad. I'm just thankful that I can also choose a custom soundtrack from the songs on my PS3, the variety is better. Levels: The stages are vast and expansive, but some are just plain retarded in terms of both design and originality. The Full Metal Panic stage where Bontakun appears is drab and lifeless. Absolutely boring. Even worse are the levels with unskippable cutscenes since I have to suffer through watching Sheryl Nome and Ranka Lee in a long drawn out exposition only to see it lead up to a song. I don't think I should have to sit through 2 or 3 minutes of a wasteful cutscene just to set up a fucking song EVER!!! Not only that, the Macross and Full Metal Panic rail-shooter esque modes bother the Hell out of me. I can set my controller down, walk out of the room and return to see it completed. I call that "laziness" ladies and mentlegen, and it's something I don't approve of. On top of that, those stages are boring. Difficulty: It's average, but there are some issues. I feel that the enemy AI is WAY too accurate, able to hit the player even while dashing at ultra speeds, and at impossible angles no less. Even more confusing is a bug I found with the Nu and Hi-Nu's fin funnel barrier which can last indefinately if the player constantly hits enemies. This bug literally makes you invincible, to the point where I gang raped The Nineball Seraph and the final boss without dropping the barrier. Overall: What a piece of commercial shit. A game that swings everything in the favor of a few and leaves the rest to become absolute wastes of space. Filled with bad gameplay and several other flaws with exposure and execution, it is unimaginable that a series could fall from grace this hard. I give Another Century's Episode: R a 1/10.
