Oh where oh where could the monster be,

that dwells on the eastern shore.

Well he is said to live inside a lake

of ancient legend and lore.

He's said to be a beast of great power,

corrupted by every sin.

When he hungers, there's no stopping him,

his slaughter shall begin.

With no remorse within his heart,

nor pity within his soul,

he kills man, woman and child alike,

pure chaos is what he shall sow.

A man went searching, one fateful day,

"Looking for the monster", he said.

An old woman he met showed him the way,

to the Lake of the Ancient Dead.

Inside the lake, the man hence stared,

hoping to find his beast.

What looked back at him, into his eyes,

gripped him in fear and would not cease.

Henceforth he returned, to the village from whence he began,

where the townsfolk greeted him thus:

"Where oh where could the monster be? Is he on the eastern shore?"

"Foolish humans...the monster lives in all of us".
