Alot of people ask me how do you write a decent plot So I had to write this on here and other places and what Mainly occurs is the Hero is either the Son of some Dodgy King or Some Bad King has taken over the Land and a Hero rises up to kick his backside and hand it to him on a rather Shiny Platter any-ways lets get to the Tutorial Setting: This is very Important first off you need to think about whether or not your Setting matches your story line you character can't be living in a City and he is a simple farm boy just doesn't go along what you want is to make sure you character has a decent name for the appropriate setting of your story so E.g Jack wouldn't fit in a Hardcore Fantasy RPG would it? So what you want is Possibly a Name Generator or If you have a good creative mind think of names yourself so BRICK would be a great name for a Grappler or some kind of bruiser would it Not? Next we need to think about your Tile Sets these are very Important You wouldn't want the simple starter tile sets in a Modern RPG right? so what you want is a good friend or someone who could rip you or create you a nice flowing tile set. Next we need to think about Races the History ETC so Usually in An RPG you get some Old Guy telling the Young Hero how the land Has grown or whatever it is he does what you should really do is think about something different so maybe you could start with the main character in a school learning about the history of what your world is called or you could start with the main character finding a parchment telling the Player about what has gone on and so forth. Characters: First off all your characters should have a reason to join your party You can't have some guy just come along and be like " Oh You Look strong let me be in your Party!" and whatever it is al ot of people do so let us say that we have some young boy who joined the party because He wanted to learn how to fight or you could have an Old Man join because he wanted to relive his adventures except he has a good knowledge of the whereabouts you need to go so this is important. Dialogue: once you have the Latter set up This step should become a lot more easier mainly because they write themselves you think of them talking it doesn't come down to thinking it mainly comes down to your Imagination and if you Imagine what your characters are like you will start to know what they will say if there are rather clumsy person in danger they might say " Oh so we got a big fat ogre and were all having a laugh; Ain't that great! " remember if your working on a BIG BIG game don't just do it all by yourself you should try and get some people to help you with your Dialogue. Thanks for Reading Monsters ~ Face |
