First Name: Octavian ~Nickname/Alias: Fiston - an Argot term. An affectionate way of saying 'lad' or 'boy'. Last Name: Royer ~Prefix: Usually some variation of 'Oh My God - What is that thing??' ~Suffix: Running away very fast or screaming. Gender: Male Age: 29 Appearance: Octavian is an incredibly deformed man. Some of this is due to his own substance abuse. His face is deformed by a long scar the cuts from above his right eyebrow over his eyes and down to his chin. The wound was never treated properly, became infected, and has now healed incorrectly forming a twisted scar. His mother was a heavy drinkers, and used laudanum and morphine to fill in the cracks. Due to her substance abuse during her pregnancy - Octavian was born with a useless third arm that hangs just below his left arm. His left shoulder is hunched and the right section of his chest is quite distinctly concave. Due to this cramping of his chest, he has problems with his breathing. Both his legs are perfectly straight, but his feet are like large flippers. His toes are fused together, and this makes it difficult for him to walk. ~Height: When he's standing straight - a rare occurence - he's quite tall. About 5'9" ~Build: Thin ~Skin Tone: What's not red and deformed is sallow ~Hair Colour: Straw blond - long and rather dirty. ~Eye Colour: Pale blue ~Face Claim: Stas Svetlichnyy ~Accent/Phonetics: His mother had him tutored for the first ten years of his life in private by a Spaniard. Octavian still has a faint Spanish accent. History: Octavian's mother was a wealthy widow who was completely unable to handle her husband's death several months after their marriage. Her way of adapting to her new status as rich, eligible, and possibly suspected in the strange circumstances surrounding her husband's death was to have a brief and brutal affair with a stranger, get addicted to laudanum and morphine as well as alcohol, and then discover in a rather harsh moment of vomiting and regrets that she was pregnant. Sophia was not strong enough to take this shocking news without her newfound friends opium and alcohol - so she drifted further into substance abuse. Perhaps unsurprisingly - when her son was born he was terribly deformed. His mother named him Octavian in a flight of opiate induced fancy and then passed him off onto an increasingly long array of wet-nurses and governesses. He had a tutor for ten years - a Signor Raffale. After this period, the authorities discovered how little attention his mother had paid to their affairs, and they lost everything. Sophia killed herself with an overdose, and Octavius found himself alone and on the streets. Mother dearest had always turned to her wonderful friends in such situations, so it didn't take Octavian long to fall into such habits himself. He became a sort of high-class freak show, and gleaned a meager living out of amusing people and scribing important messages for the less literate on the streets. He is widely considered as a sort of good-luck charm by his mottley band of ruffian protectors. Several times in the grips of his addictions, he has done things... terrible things. Octavian is pretty sure that red stains have appeared on his clothing which shouldn't have been there before. One day he got into a fight with a man who was selling off cut-rate morphine. It ended with the seller quite definitely dead, and Octavian sporting a ghastly scar. He remembers little about that episode. Lately he's been taking an interest in the doings of a more upper-class kind of villain than he usually associates with. Specifically - a certain flower of the underworld. ~Family Member(s): None alive. ~Crush: He's got a crush on 'Parnasse... Personality: Octavian is a kindly soul when not in the grips of an opiate or suffering from withdrawal. Almost simple in his emotions, he is rather like an adolescent. Very changeable - heated and passionate and kind and then cruel. He has flashes of murderous rage when denied what he wants - but he would also protect what he loves with his life. Octavian isn't quite evil - he's unfortunate. He's clever and wily. And it is not wise to cross him. ~Quirks: He's deformed, addicted, and homicidal. Does he even NEED any more quirks? ~Sexual Orientation: Bi. He's not very sure himself. ~Other: He probably won't live for very much longer than another two years. With the deformity and the addictions - his system is giving out. Secret Word: Still canorous? Edited by Erical, 07/10/2008 - 02:26 am.
