GENDER Female AGE 22. APPEARANCE Quite pretty, though hardly polished or ready for exposure to high society, Magda is a sterling example of the kind of hardy peasant girl one tends to find in villages along the Carpathian alps- buxom, sturdy, pink-cheeked, and with hips designed by genetics with popping out as many children as possible in mind. Her teeth are white, though a bit uneven, and she tends to keep her hands tucked into her skirt when talking to others, as ten years of working as a scullery wench have made them reddish, prone to cracking about the knuckles, and blunt-nailed. In her own village, Magda was considered the town beauty, but to Parisian eyes she is probably considerably less stunning. However, she rather likes being able to lean over without a man appearing from nowhere to try to touch her chest, so this is a good thing as far as she's concerned. ×HEIGHT 5'9" ×BUILD Plump, but not exaggeratedly so, with a waist that can be crammed into a tight bodice but rounded arms, an extremely heavy-looking pair of breasts, wide hips, a backside that'd make a bustle redundant and rather thick thighs. She has small ankles but soft-looking calves, and the ankles themselves tend to get lost in the fact that she wears rather heavy and indelicate boots most of the time. ×SKIN The actual texture of Magda's skin is good, thanks to the majority of her maid work having been done indoors, but from the perspective of nineteenth century standards of beauty she is freckled to an outright unfortunate extent. She has a particularly prominent sprinkling over her nose and cheeks, but they don't cluster much elsewhere, instead existing as a few spots every few inches. ×HAIR An extremely vivid auburn red, with a slight wave to it and a small, wispy fringe of bangs. It has something of a mind of its own, and likes to escape from the ropelike braid she tends to bind it into by slipping out around her face. ×EYES Blue ×FACE CLAIM Katja Berg ×ACCENT/PHONETICS Magda's first language is an extremely countrified dialect of Romanian, and her accent reflects this. Her French is still somewhat abysmal, but the trilingual location of her upbringing ensured that she speaks passable German and Hungarian. OCCUPATION Housemaid, with plenty of experience. HISTORY Magda is the only child of a dirt-poor Romanian carpenter and a woman from a highly-placed Brasov family who chose to marry for love rather than money. Magda's family was one of the only Christian households in the village, which created a certain degree of isolation for her throughout her childhood and also limited her education- when the other children she'd grown up with began to receive additional schooling from the local synagogue, she was left largely where the nonreligious school had left off. Occasionally, a sympathetic uncle from her mother's well-to-do family would drop by, bringing with him stories of an outside world Magda had no real exposure to, including the unattainable dream of the Moscow Ballet. When Magda was twelve, she lost her parents in a fire that consumed their home. She was taken in by the village innkeeper's wife, and put to work as a maid there when she got a bit older. Puberty descended with unholy fury when she was fourteen, and the resulting expansion in certain parts of her anatomy quickly rendered her the village Helen of Troy, a position with which she was not entirely comfortable but which was only enhanced by the fact that she could only acquire clothes that minimized her chest every once in a while. Soon thereafter, she began receiving nighttime visitations from the innkeeper himself, who was quite besotted with her, and that was when Magda knew she had to start scraping her coins together and get herself out of the village. Eight years later, she has succeeded. Brasov would have been a good place to start, but the idea of her wealthier relatives knowing what she was up to, and curiosity about the rest of the world, propelled her as far as Paris. PERSONALITY Magda is generally a quiet observer of what goes on around her, but can be quite acid-tongued when necessary and has no qualms at all about twisting a grown man's arm behind his back and daring him to say whatever caused her to do this in the first place again. She does enjoy children a great deal, though, and would probably have been the Best Big Sister Ever if she'd ever had any siblings to start with. ×QUIRKS Carries a knife most of the time, though she doesn't keep it in a very convenient place. Eats a great deal when she can get ahold of a lot of food. Was apparently never told that she should probably not adjust her drawers through her skirt when people are looking. ×SEXUAL ORIENTATION Heterosexual, though people have been known to assume otherwise given her general animosity toward the male gender.
