FIRST NAME: Yves LAST NAME: Archambault GENDER: Male AGE: 26 APPEARANCE:Clickage (more or less) Yves’ style varies, depending on the event. When he is out in public, he will often sport a fine tailored suit, sticking mostly with basic colours and ranging within the greyscale. If he does wear colour, it is often dark or muted. He avoids outlandish colours like the plague. When working in his lab, however, he is in scruffy denim trousers and a white blouse, stained with a whole array of chemicals and missing half the buttons. ~Height: 5ft10 ~Build: Solid-looking beneath a suit, but really quite lanky. His posture is odd in the sense that he does not slouch, but rather tends to lean back. ~Skin Tone: Healthy, on the pinkish side. He once got a nasty burn on the side of his neck, which now looks like a hickey. ~Hair Colour: Auburn (with oils, and he used a lot of them, his hair looks darker) ~Eye Colour: Hazel, some would argue, grey ~Face Claim: Ewan McGregor (<3) ~Accent/Phonetics: French, French, and French. He can speak English, but he usually won’t simply out of spite. He’s got a rather annoying tendency of speaking very fast, with tons of scientific jargon, with an apparent pretentious drawl. HISTORY: Ever since childhood, Yves has always had plenty of opportunities. His father was filthy rich, which enabled him to put Yves and his other three siblings through school. Access was never a problem for Yves, and he took full advantage of it. His life was not necessarily easy. Going through school, he never had a social life, and strived to master all branches of pure and applied sciences. The added pressure of his father did nothing for the stress. His skills in math when he was younger were uncanny. He had advanced to such a point that he had mastered calculus by the time he was twelve. That’s when he began to pursue physics and chemistry. Needless to say, he was the youngest in his class when he had moved on to a higher education, and sped through that as well. By the time he was eighteen, his studies had been complete. After he graduated, he worked as a doctor’s apprentice. By his father’s command, of course. And he absolutely hated it. He found it frustrating, tedious, and worst of all, he had to deal with people. At first, it was bearable, but once he began to lose patience, the patients started complaining. His bedside manners were non-existent. On clinic duty, he would often shrug off those complaining about pain, and tell them to find their own narcotics. It’s no surprise that he was fired within his first two months. Not that he minded. Yves found work with a local engineer. He would be asked to modify and improve on any system his boss had given him. There was one problem, however, and that was his desire to invent. His time working under someone else was excruciating for the both of them. His boss would give him an assignment, and he would argue; as far as Yves was concerned, the engines his boss built were faulty, and of course, Yves knew better. There was a silver lining to his time spent at work, however, and that silver lining was found in a co-worker, Julie Camus. Something that Yves thought could never possibly happen to him, happened. What started out as respect turned into love. Well, ‘love’ in his sense, anyhow. He could not be sure how it happened, but it did. Of course, it was all fantasy. She was older than he. He was nineteen, and she was thirty-two, married, and with child. The worst part was that her brother was Yves’ boss. Yves was not bothered by this ‘minor inconvenience’ in the slightest, and pursued her. Yves always had the solution for any problem. He would talk to her, try to impress her with his knowledge, and one ay, he moved in to kiss her. And that was his last day at work. Yves made such a commotion about her slapping him, that he attracted his bosses’ attention. After that day, he never saw Julie again. At first, he was heart broken, however, his rational mind pulled him out of his stupor. It was then that he pooled all his money together, along with some of his father’s, and bought his own research lab and equipment. He works on a number of projects in his lab. His priority is to perfect the steam engine, or perhaps create a more efficient system. A second, more low-key project of his is the study of salamanders. He's fascinated with their ability to grow back limbs, and wonders how and if it can be applied to humans as well. He has conducted several experiments on other animals, including, but not limited to, a complete blood transfusion and reattaching foreign limbs. The others are minor, just to generate revenue. His biggest source of income comes from the sale of his weapons. He’s got a reputation of making very mysterious arms, using toxic gases and chemicals. Despite the consequences, he rather enjoys his small business. It allows him to be creative. PERSONALITY: Yves is an incredibly annoying individual, who always has to be right. He does not understand certain concepts, such as sarcasm, and even common expressions will throw him off slightly. He’s got a tendency to take everything literally and put it in rational terms, which will often make a normal conversation into a futile argument about why a certain phrase makes no sense. Naturally, such stress on a young man’s mind had hideous effects on his psyche. He had developed asocial and rather inappropriate tendencies. There is no doubt that he is intelligent, but due to scarce social interaction, he does not deal well with people. At all. Many mistakenly believe him to be hyperactive. Indeed, he is incredibly fidgety and perhaps even impulsive; vocally more than anything. He has no control over what his says, and is often found pacing and/or bouncing in place. He, in fact, has major OCD. His pacing and bouncing is from agitation if he cannot work out a problem. His verbal diarrhea is from his frustration with the average man and/or woman. Bright colours do not look ‘neat’ enough, which is why he can’t stand the sight of them. He will cause a scene if so much as a spec of his lab is out of place, or if anyone touches his belongings. The ‘touching’ barrier also applies to him. He will touch anyone he pleases, but would rather not be touched without his permission. Hand-shaking is also something he is not very comfortable with. In terms of love, he equates it with admiration. If he admires someone, he’s in love with them. Admiration, however, is not so well defined. He can admire someone for their looks, their talent, their intelligence, etc… Needless to say, in theory, he can fall in and out of love rather easily, though not very often. The ‘falling’ out bit is a little to smooth for any romantic’s taste. ~Quirks: His OCD will drive him and almost anyone around him absolutely mad. He’s also got a high-pitched giggle that he can’t help. ~Sexual Orientation: Thus far, he has only fallen in love with one woman, but there’s nothing to say that he will not go for a man. SECRET WORD: peccadillonote |
