FIRST NAME Wilhemina ×MIDDLE NAME Aubergine ×NICKNAME/ALIAS ‘Mina’ ‘Willie’ Most call her Mina, not wanting to displease her. LAST NAME Mooney GENDER Female AGE 35 APPEARANCE Mina could've once been called beautiful. Back in the days when the smell of burning fur didn't come from the deepest room in the bakery or when she had a plain band on her left hand, no diamond of any sort. Her skin wasn't always just a bit wrinkled, around the edges only. When she could afford better clothes, she looked absolutely wonderful. Nowadays, the only thing to be said about Wilhemina is that she was once beautiful. Her hair seems to be the one reminder of her golden days, curled and absolutely perfect hair. It retains the scent of rose water instead of the light smell of yeast that comes from her apron, a bright shine with seemingly little effort, and is possibly the third softest thing in the world after angel feathers and a baby's rump. Her clothing used to be nice. She still has a few fine pieces that she wears out on occasion (mainly when she visits Fleet), but her everyday clothes are just that: everyday. The many layers keep her warm in the winter and a somewhat lighter wardrobe consists of the same clothes except worn differently. She has no need for the 'latest' in fashion. . . That's a lie: she yearns for it. But until Fredrick's work at the press gets better, she has nothing to do but wait. ×HEIGHT 5’3 ×BUILD Thin ×SKIN TONE Very pale ×HAIR COLOUR Dark brown, nearly black ×EYE COLOUR Brownish green ×FACE CLAIM Amelia Bullmore ×ACCENT/PHONETICS She speaks with a diction that may have once been that of someone . . . much better off than Mina is now, but is tainted with the occasional un-ladylike yell or a crawk. HISTORY Born Wilhemina Aubergine Hutchings and later dubbed Mina, she grew up in a manor outside London. Her family being well known for producing rather fine ladies of class. It was a relatively easy life as a child. Her father was a well-known doctor and her mother handled the estate (something that Reginald, Mina’s father, would never let anyone know outside of the family). Mina (called as such due to her younger sister, Amelia, and her inability to say Wilhemina) was especially fond of the animals of the house, including the collection of poodles that her mother enjoyed breeding. She had one of her own that she fondly named Reggi, much to the dismay of her father. But Reggi died, as all dogs do, when Mina turned twelve. It was around this time that Amelia became ill. Dr. Hutchings assured himself and everyone else that he could diagnose and cure his daughter (then ten). His confidence in himself and his pride . . . . Reginald was certain that nothing would go wrong. Even as Amelia got worse, as no cure was working, he still assured everyone, “Oh, Amelia? Getting worse? Balderdash! She’ll be up in a week!” Within two weeks of the sickness starting, Amelia was classified deceased of ‘blood poisoning’. All confidence in the doctor that anyone had had simply faded. The family’s relatively ‘new’ money only lasted so long. Wilhemina was quickly married at the age of sixteen in a somewhat ineffective attempt to gain some sort of money into the family. Fredrick Mooney was a young man whose father had gained influence due to his work in literature. His pamphlets that praised England were highly respected and due to Fredrick being ‘known’, Dr. Hutchings decided that it was good enough. Within a year, the two were wed. Wilhemina was astonished and confused. She had never needed to know how to make her husband a pastry (though she did know how to play the piano, draw a picture of a kitten, sew, and could recite twenty seven unique poems, three in French and two in Swedish). Fredrick adored pastries, though rather sparingly. And so she began the whole boodle of learning, if only to impress the husband that she had begun to adore. Moving from their homeland was no easy task, but the two were soon in the thriving (if not decisive) country of France. Mina’s pastry making became almost obsessive when she was with child a month after moving. From pastries came cakes came pies and when fundings began to dwindle once again in the Mooney house, Fredrick carefully suggested that they buy the failing business building in town, very nearby, that was once a bakery. Hazel was born soon after the purchase of Mrs. Mooney’s Pie Shop, specializing in meat pies and the pastries that her husband found so dear. Soon, Lawrence and Leo were born. Soon after the birth of Leo, business declined and, being the clever woman she was, she soon found a solution in the form of a woman next door who had an abundance of kitty cats. Business thrived once again and it has been eight years since any problems in the Mooney home. ×FAMILY MEMBER(S) Three children – Daughter: Hazel is eighteen and torn between love for her mother and hatred for what she does. She is the only of the three who knows their mother’s kitty obsession. Owns a kitty-cat of her own that she saved from her mother, keeps it in the closet to hide it from her. Mina does not know of this cat. She is not in any sort of relationship. Played by Shiri Appleby Son: Lawrence is sixteen and possibly one of the most handsome eligible men on the market. He’s very smart, but not clever and is unable to use his smarts for anything. He is currently planning on becoming a banker and is a bit arrogant. Son: Her youngest son, Leo is ten and her current little deviant. He loves his mumsy, who he takes after more than anyone. They share the same stretched skin over the same bone structure. He is quite the brute and will most probably grow up to be like a Mr. Alice henchman. Leo enjoys running over to Mrs. Lovett’s to stir up some mischief. ×SPOUSE/FIANCÉE Mr. Fredrick Mooney – Married for fourteen years. He’s her little mouse that she caught as a girl and they have three children together. He’s a bit on the frightened side, a bit timid, but Mina loves him for those exact reasons. ×LOVE INTEREST Her husband! Though she will happily cause a bit of a ruffle in Lovett’s skirts by winking at Mr. Todd in a most scandalous fashion. PERSONALITY She is extremely passionate and extremely easy to displease. Once you do, might’as’well write yourself right from Mina’s books and leave her be or you’ll be seeing the bottom end of her boots. Her grudges run deep and her loves run even deeper. She sees no fault in those that she loves completely. Wilhemina despises it when anyone calls her Wilhemina. The worst part about her anger is that she doesn’t tend to show it upfront. A snide comment and a glare once in a while may be the worst you shall get in public. Her spite does not run as deep as to say, kill someone. Not in most cases. ×QUIRKS Her one true love ‘sides her husband and her business and stompin’ on cats is her toy poodle, Gregory. He’s her darling angel. He’ll be turning three in the summertime. Her word is ‘boogle’ and she uses it a lot. What it means is anyone’s guess. ×SEXUAL ORIENTATION Mina likes the boys. LIKES
