Yay, so Dree has fun all alone in her house on New Year's Eve. She's been playing with Imogen's picture when she really should be researching for her feminist existentialism project due Monday. Also she's found one of those Mary-Sue litmus tests. They are such fun! But don't take it too seriously. It's all relative, and Sues are played not made, IMHO. Imogen 3 ANTI SUE (I'm curious about taking it again for her when I've played with her more) Fabian 21 BORDERLINE SUE (I guess general asshole-ry isn't applicable) Sweeney 21 BORDERLINE SUE (Specified for my Sweeney in particular, and I didn't count the oh so tragical death and wife's death and all that, since it might never happen here.) Babette 13 NON SUE (Interesting, because she is the most like me out of all my characters, and that's ususally risky.) Giry 15 NON SUE (Again, my Giry in particular) |

I love-love-love these tests! :D Johanna-- 24 points. A borderline-Sue. Maybe it's just how I play her-- but she kind of is anyhow. Just look at her. Hair of gold, my friend. Hair of gold. Alex-- -4. Anti-Sue. (Unless watery, dead-looking eyes count as exceptional. Maybe they do...) |

Lucien: Non-Sue (19) - surprise. I thought he's a Sue... Beadle: doesn't worth the time, he's the anti-Sue incarnate. Ugly, fat, ebil, funny, and not too many people like him. Javert: Borderline-Sue (29) Meh heh heh. :P |

-saw it and had to do it- Mrs. Lovett - 22 - Borderline-Sue For my Wubbet in particular. & 'Cause I didn't count the whole gettin' burned alive and... yeah. Christine Daaé - 39 - Mary-Sue. DAMN INGENUES DX there were definitely several questions that sent her into teh Sue-ness. -headdesk- ah vell. development time! By the way. This question totally sent me into a fit of giggles. "Does the character have a physical "flaw" that does not actually detract from her/his beauty (e.g. lips too full, white strip in hair, missing one toe, etc.)?" Hrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrm..... ....... XDXD |

XD This one is so funny dat Wiza found. Imogen Betel is only a little like you. She is not at all cool; in fact, she thinks cool is a temperature reading, and when she says "Oh, I just put on whatever old thing's lying around," she means "on the floor, where I threw it last night - but I turned the underwear inside out first." There's never been anything special about her that she could see; boy, is she in for a surprise. She's got no emotional scars to speak of. And she's gotten no slack from you. In general, you've kept yourself a goodly distance from Imogen Betel and given her plenty of room - maybe a little too much. Don't distance yourself so far from Imogen Betel that you stop caring what happens to her. Score Breakdown I Love Her, I Let Her Go 6 She's The Anti-Cool 1 Plain Jane 0 Healthy as a Horse 2 Momma HATES Her! 0 Total: 9 Fabian DuChamps is only a little like you. He may be popular, or he may not, but no matter what he's impossible to ignore; he stands out... just the way you always wanted to. There's never been anything special about him that he could see; boy, is he in for a surprise. He's got no emotional scars to speak of. And he's gotten no slack from you. -loves dat one- WUBBET! is nothing like you. She isn't really very cool: she blends into crowds, she hangs out on the fringes at parties, and wearing shades after dark makes her run into things. She may have sometimes thought that she was special, or destined for greater things, but probably dismissed the idea as a fantasy. She's come in for her share of hurt, but gotten off with minor damage. And she's gotten no slack from you. First one: Lucien: 12 0-16 Points Most likely Not-Sue. Characters at this level could probably take a little spicing up without hurting them any. So he's totally not-Sue. Strange. Lucien Antoine de Liery is nothing like you. He isn't really very cool: he blends into crowds, he hangs out on the fringes at parties, and wearing shades after dark makes him run into things. There's never been anything special about him that he could see; boy, is he in for a surprise. He's got no emotional scars to speak of. And he's gotten no slack from you. In general, you've kept yourself a goodly distance from Lucien Antoine de Liery and given him plenty of room - maybe a little too much. Don't distance yourself so far from Lucien Antoine de Liery that you stop caring what happens to him. I thought an emo poet who's beautiful, gay, aristocrat and has suicidal tendencies must be a Sue. Now I do this for book!Marius. Marius Pontmercy is suspiciously similar to you as you'd like to be. He isn't really very cool: he blends into crowds, he hangs out on the fringes at parties, and wearing shades after dark makes him run into things. He may have sometimes thought that he was special, or destined for greater things, but probably dismissed the idea as a fantasy. He's had more than his fair share of hard knocks, and probably spends more time than he ought moaning about it. And you've been sparing with the free handouts: whatever he gains, he's worked for. In general, you care deeply about Marius Pontmercy, but you're smart enough to let him stand on his own, without burdening him with your personal fantasies or propping him up with idealization and over-dramatization. Marius Pontmercy is a healthy character with a promising career ahead of him. I'll do book!Enjolras with the very first test, too. 49: Mary-Sue. *ebil laugh* |

Or that I'd been the one to have that sexy monster pop out of my head. But I worship at the altar of Gaiman anyhow. That description made me snerk with laughter, though-- he's incredibly hip and unfathomably cool, at least to himself. For once I've got a character whose eyes count as remarkable. And who's been abandoned by their parents. Well, parent. )) Edited by Skazka, Jan 19 2009, 07:32 PM.

Aveline's score: 21 21-35 points: Borderline-Sue. Your character is cutting it close, and you may want to work on the details a bit, but you're well on your way to having a lovely original character. Good work. |
