Forget the introduction of television to the masses... or the Apollo 13 news broadcast... Fie on the 2009 Presidential election... the death of Micheal Jackson. This is HUGE. Les Mis is going to be in Pittsburgh... From July 7th to July 19th. I just found out I'm going, as an early birthday present. IT wasn't a surprise, so much as I always keep up on tour dates around my birth date, in the hopes that something will be close by, and then plead my parents to drive me. (I'm paying for my the tickets and all, so it's really like I'm getting my own present, but I need someone to drive me, so...) It was a success last year, when I went and saw it in Philly. (My first Les Mis- my first theater, really. Which, by the way, the production was INCREDIBLE!) And now I'm going back to Pennsylvania to see it in Pittsburgh. A little bit about the cast: Valjean: Played by Mr. Fred Inkley, who has previously played Valjean on Broadway and in the National Tour. I'm a bit nervous, which is silly, because, HELLO? He played Valjean on Broadway... I's just that I was so spoiled with Hugh Panaro at the Walnut Street production. (Yes, that was shameless advertising on my part. Go see Hugh in something. Period. And, if he's ever playing Valjean again, we're all going to see him. I don't care. I will personally pay for all our tickets. Erical, I will pay for a flight from New Zealand (why isn't Zealand in my Firefox dictionary? It's a word, dammit!) to where ever the production is. No excuses. This guy was THAT good.) Nevertheless, I'm sure he'll be splendid. Javert: Played by Mr. Robert Cuccioli. I saw his picture and nearly died... He's got that wolf-like quality to him. This guy actually made his Broadway debut as Javert, which, uh... just in case you all couldn't figure this out by yourselves, is a KICK ASS debut. Fantine: Played by Jacquelyn Piro Donovan, who also starred in Les Mis on Broadway. I'm sensing a pattern here with these people... I've honestly never gotten as excited about Fantine's character as I probably should, especially considering all she went through, the poor dear. I have a feeling she could change that though. I've heard awesome things about her from other productions. Enjolras: Played by Kevin Earley. He looks like an Enjolras, and I'm assuming he can sing like one, seeing as he played Enjolras in the National Tour. I saw a production photo of One Day More, and I gotta say... He can ROCK that Red Vest. These are the one's who's bios stood out, in particular to me... Seems like a very promising cast! *dies* Magical Bahorel: Don't die yet, you buffoon! Wait until the production is over! *revives* I don't know when I'm going yet, exactly... either the 17th, 18th, or 19th. I'd like to try for closing night, if it's possible. But really it's whenever my parents will agree to drive me down. I don't suppose anyone else is going...? Well, if you're near Pittsburgh, or not, and you want to check it out, click HERE! Can you tell I'm jacked out of my mind for this? Edited by PqA, Jul 1 2009, 09:09 AM.
