The fine white hairs on Darrins tail and ears were now standing as he drew his sword from his belt. He approached the goblin with the sword held out, the tip pointed straight at its face. The strategy was to wait for it to attack first, parrying to the side if it thrusts forward, and ducking a horizontal slash. If he thrusts he'll counter with a vertical slash to the head, and a sideways slash will result in Darrin ducking under and retaliating with wide slash to its legs, hopefully taking one off. If worse comes to worse, he'll have to go to dual wielding. |

Mafe was the first to act. She swung her bow up, and took careful aim at the goblin's face. Her opponent, who had now recovered from smashing into her, leaped forwards, its dagger out and ready to strike. Moments before it hit her, she released the arrow, and sent it flying towards the beast's head. Unluckily, it it quite hard to hit moving targets, and she overshot slightly, the arrow smashing into the goblin's chest. Still, it hurt like hell. The sharp point dug into its green flesh, stopping as it embedded itself into the gap between two ribs. The goblin staggered, and then kept going, seemingly unaware of the danger it was in. She stepped back, and reached to her quiver to draw another arrow and deal the killing blow. At the same time, The goblin with the short sword had begun to circle Darrin, preparing to strike. Then, in a burst of speed that was suprising coming from such a small form, it sprinted forwards, its blade ready. Darrin swung his sword up, and swept it towards the thing's head. Instead of changing course, however, the goblin kept coming, set on a suicidal course. The two struck at the exact same moment. Darrin's sword cam down, splitting into the goblin's head, killing within moments. The goblin's momentum pushed it forwards, and it thrust its dagger into the half fox's stomach, pushing up to the hilt. It then let go, and slumped to the ground in a heap. The wound on his stomach hurt burned, but at least it wasn't bleeding. Of course, once the blade responsible was removed, then that would be a different story. The gloved goblin reached Mafe before she could knock a second arrow. It ducked down, and smashed its small bulk into her legs, throwing her off balance and causing the arrow that she held to fall harmlessly to the ground. It then jumped up, and slashed out at her arms, leaving a deep gash. Her arm fell dead to one side, a mess of blood. But she wasn't beat yet. In a strong voice, she quickly murmured, "Obi di, jebora, cesta!" Then, in a burst of light, a simmering green orb expanded around her, pushing the goblin back. It fell to the ground, and its dagger clattered away from its hand. In a swift motion, she drew her dagger and prepared for another attack. The other goblin's cape fluttered behind it as it ran, weaving from side to side. It's short blade sat snuggly in its left hand, and its face bore a smirk. The orb of fire flew towards it, but missed by inches as the beast leaped to the side, and nimbly hit the ground on all fours. It was up in a second, and it sliced its blade out at Midge's chest. Prepared for the blow, the young alchemist caught the attack on the side of her dagger and backed up. The goblin, in a flurry of metal, struck out at her neck, and then reversed the blade, aiming for her sword arm. The metal nipped into her skin, causing the girl to cry out. She took another step back, and raised her blade defensively. Mafe turned and yelled to Darrin. "Help Midge! I can take this one!" Darrin: HP: 23/37 Midge: HP: 22/25 Energy: 4/5 Mafe: HP: 17/25 Energy: 2/3 Glove Goblin: HP: 5/10 Energy: 1 Cape Goblin: HP: 9/10 Energy: 1 |

Darrin nodded to Mafe, ignoring the short blade stuck in his abdomen, and ran over to the alchemists attacker, going in for a leaping downward slash to its head. He knew it might dodge, and if it did, he would draw his dagger and dual wield, blocking it possible attack with the sword, and going in for the kill with a dagger thrust. If this plan fails and the goblin manages to strike, he'll try to grab its arms and restrain it, while the girl a chance to fire off another fireball spell. |
