You have just left the hustle and bustle of Oak Village and traveled out through the Cuin Forest. All around you, trees hiss and crack, moved by a light wind. Squirrels, deer, and other forest animals dart away when they see you, only to return again for a closer look. Your short sword sits at your right hip, you dagger at your left. You are wearing your rough leather armor, and it serves as a nice protection against the cold, icy winds. Ahead of you, you can now see a large clearing surrounded by large pines. It is filled with tents, and people run to and fro, all seemingly having a task to do. Smoke rises in large billows, and the area is filled with the clanging of metal. This is your destination. The Training Camp, half a mile south of Oak Village and near to Cuin Camp. Your mission was to go there and seek out a trainer who could teach you in the ways of the fighter. As you stand there, admiring the site, you hear light footsteps behind you. Spinning around, you see nothing. Hesitantly, your hand goes to your sword hilt and you turn again, heading back for the camp. Just as you begin to walk, the footsteps sound again, this time faster and closer. You turn slowly, and then in a burst of speed, spin around again and draw your sword. A green-brown creature stands there, wearing heavy rags and clutching a dagger in its small hands. A goblin had found you, and mistaken you for easy prey. The goblin leaps forwards, trying to catch you off balance. Years of drilling by yourself allow you to raise your blade and parry to blow, but leave you unprepared for the quick reversal of the dagger, and a slash at your chest which leaves a faint mark. The goblin back peddles and places its dagger in a defensive position before it, ready for your next attack. Darrin's Health: 22/25 (1 from fatigue, 2 from dagger) Goblin's Health: 9/10 (1 from fatigue)

(Ok, it seems to know how to counter, so I'll have to be careful.) He took a stance, watching the goblin carefully as he inched closer. Deciding not to take any chances, he moves in for the attack, making a wide slash as he tried to strike the monster. |

The goblin watches you calmly, its dagger up and ready to strike. It still seems to think that you will be an easy target, and thus is not as prepared as it should be. As you stepped forwards and slashed out, it stumbled back, surprised to see such retaliation, and was cut on both arms and its chest by your blade. In pain, and turned and ran back a few steps, bleeding heavily from its left arm which hung dead at its side. In its right hand, it held its dagger, though not as confidently as before. Suddenly, in a burst of movement, the goblin charges forwards at you. In the split second that you had to prepare, you managed to get a look into its eyes. Instead of the cruel, cunning look that it had before, it looked crazed, insane. You had seen that look before. It was the look that someone gets wen they're about to die. You first strike had dealt massive amounts of damage to it, most likely striking several important veins. The goblin collided into you, throwing both of you to the ground. You rolled over, trying to get above it. It stabbed out with its dagger, and caught your arm with a weak attempt at an attack. You pushed it onto the ground, and on instinct, drove your drove into its stomach, through it, and into the icy ground. Darrin's Health: 20/25 (1 from fatigue, 1 from dagger) Goblin's Health: -13/10 (1 from fatigue, 12 from first attack [CRITICAL], 20 from second) |

Panting, Darrin stands up and dusts himself off, leaving the blood stains on his clothes alone, while looking down at the slain goblin. He catches his breath and heaves a sigh, before tossing the blade into the air, spinning as the blood was thrown off of it, then catching it by the hilt, as he struck a clich'e rpg stance, claiming his victory, before sheathing the sword. |

"Wonderful show, though you probably got lucky." The voice sounds from behind you, light and dry. "You're going to have to do better if you want to get along here in the camp." You turn, and see a short girl leaning against a large oak. She has long brown hair styled in a part, and is wearing a brown shirt and pants with a mottled green cloak. Across her back is strung a short bow and a quiver filled with sharp, dark green feathered arrows. At her waist she wears a tight belt, and strapped to it is a sheath that contains a dagger. The hilt of the dagger is wrapped in white cloth, making it easier to grip. The girl smiles, and straightens up. "But let me introduce myself. I'm Mafe Namari, ranger of the Cuin forest. I lead the activities here at the camp, and I help people like you get better at, well, whatever they do. I see that you already know a thing or two about fighting. I'm better with bows and magic, but I can hold my own in a melee fight if I have to." She smiles again, and walks towards you, extending her hand for you to shake. |

Unsure of how to react to a person that is actually being friendly to him, he reaches out slowly and shakes her hand, wary of what she might do. "Uh, hi. I'm Darrin Shiro." he said back to her, wondering how long she had been watching him, and if she had noticed any of his 'traits' yet. "So how long have you been training here?" |

Grasping your hand, and pumping it up and down, Mafe raises her eyebrows. "Darrin. Nice name." She lets go and take a step back. "I suppose that you're here for training? If so, we've got a special mission for you." She grins, with a hint of playfulness. "That goblin that you just killed, look at its dagger." Her gaze falls to the dead things arm, and then to its weapon. You hadn't noticed this before, but there was a strange symbol carved into the hilt. It was light blue, with a spiraling pattern. At the center was a leering skull, with a lighting bolt going through it. "Goblins with that symbol on their weapons, cloaks, whatever have been appearing all over. They're pillaging like crazy, and I've been hired to stop them. So I decided to bring you two along." For a brief moment, you wondered what Mafe meant. But then, a second later, another girl ran up beside her. She turned to the ranger, and said clearly: "What's that smell?"
Mafe pointed to the carcass at your feet. "Dead goblin. Like I told you before, we're going hunting. You two with me?"

Being more of the quiet type, Darrin nodded before asking, "So, where are we going anyways, Mafe?" |

(I deleted the god moding posts) From within the long cloak that she wore, Mafe withdrew a small, wooden pointer. She knelt down, the cloak spreading out around her. With the stick, she began to draw in the dirt. First, she drew a small X. "This is where we are, next to the Training Camp." Up, and to the right of that, she sketched a square. "This is Oak Village." To the left of that, she made a triangle. "That's Tharmin Cave." Finally, a foot up from all of that, she drew a jagged line. Below the line, she drew five rectangles with one side missing. "And that's Stone Ridge." She looked up at Darrin, her face wrinkled in thought. "The attacks have been hitting Oak Village from the south west. Tharmin Cave is to far to the west to be the base of operations. They must have built a camp somewhere in the middle of all three." She pointed the stick at the center of the square, triangle, and X. "This is where we're going. It's about a one mile trek." Mafe stood up, and replaced the pointer back within her cloak. She reached behind her and pulled off her bow, at the same time removing an arrow from the quiver. Knocking the arrow, she turned and grinned at Darrin and Midge. "Let's go." Just as Mafe began to move, a small, green, blur shot out from a nearby bush and smashed into her, knocking her to the ground. She immediately regained her balance and leaped up, a short but bloody gash on her chest. Swiftly, she brought to bow up and pointed at the form in front of her. It was a goblin, wearing a pair of dark green gloves. On the gloves, etched in green, was the spiral, skull, and lighting symbol that had been on the dead ones dagger. Just before she could fire, two more forms stepped out of the nearby bushes, each a goblin. One wore a cape with the symbol, while another carried a short sword bearing the mark. "Darrin, take the one with the short sword. Midge, the cape. I'll get gloves here." Let the fight begin. Darrin: HP: 32/37 Midge: HP: 25/25 Energy: 5/5 Mafe: HP: 21/25 Energy: 3/3 Glove Goblin: HP: 10/10 Energy: 1 Cape Goblin: HP: 10/10 Energy: 1 Short sword Goblin: HP: 10/10 Energy: 1 |

Before now, Midge had been dying to get into combat but as she stood there she felt wave uneasiness pass over her. This was the first time she had ever really fought someone... or something. Regaining herself, Midge stood straight and raised her left arm up into the air. The red fire dissolved out of the air, hovering a few inches over her hand. Midge stepped forwards and threw the ball of red at the goblins neck. Hoping to parry off the goblin with her sword. |
