[Dilly dallying, not didle daling. Rwl]

"Morak ento ocane." The words left Mafe's mouth in the form of a light green mist. The mist swirled and shifted, finally solidifying into the form of a green ball that shimmered and twisted. She reached out and grabbed it in one hand, pulling it over her head. "Teeradia!" She swung her hand forwards and pointed at your chest. The bolt followed, and in a burst of green light, flew from her palm and towards you at the same time as you released your fireball. The two bolts passed each other in midair, one sizzling, one shimmering.

The fireball crackled and struck Mafe's shield, throwing sparks into the air and blinding her for a split second. The fire energy rippled around the shield, throwing a grim light onto her. What the shield could not hold was transmitted down in the form of red beams of light, striking her and causing her to flinch in pain.

You weren't so lucky. As you were sworn to not dodge, the bolt smashed into your chest, sending sharp bolts of energy all over you body. The green sparks danced around you, causing sharp stings wherever they struck. The energy disappeared after several seconds, but the pain still remained, fogging your mind and slowing you down.

Wincing as the green bolt of energy hit, Midge felt some of her health drain away. How much she wished she could doge. Retaining composure Midge stud up straight and lifted her hands in the heat blured air above her head. Energy dissolved out of the air into another fire ball. It hovering slightly above her left hand. Midge stepped forwards with her right and flung the white hot ball of fire at Mafe's torso.

This girl's got style. Those are some pretty great fire bolts that she's throwing there, and they would be really hurting if I couldn't block 'em with this shield, Mafe thought as she studied you. I say that after this, she passes the test for magic.

Clearing her head, Mafe focused back on the battle. "Morak ento ocane!" The mist spiraled from her mouth twisting this way and that. She grabbed at it, solidifying it into another ball of sparkling green energy. As you threw the fire bolt, she briefly wondered if she should block your attack with hers. The two spells would counter eachother, and neither would be hurt. After a second of inner debate, she decided against it. She was running low on energy, and needed to end this task as quickly as possible, or else risk losing. "Teeraida." She murmured, pointing her palm at your neck. The neck was always a good spot to aim for. Bolts of Nature were really just bolts of energy, and if sent through the spine, could cause major damage.

The fireball struck Mafe first. It collided into her shield, scattering parks everywhere. This time, it penetrated deeper inside. Mafe felt to heat off of the outside of the shell, and then shock as the energy smashed into her, shaking her momentarily. The shield flickered, and then died.

You were hit at the base of your neck by the twisting bolt of energy. Green sparks smashed into your spine, sausing you to shake and lurch as electricity traveled all over your body. Your knees gave out, and you collapsed to the ground, wheezing and coughing.

Mafe's Health:
17/25 (3 from Fire Bolt [CRITICAL, but the shield lessened it], and 1 from fatigue)
Mafe's Energy: 0/3

Midge's Health:
15/25 (6 from Bolt of Nature, 1 from fatigue)
Midge's Energy: 3/5

The magic task is now completer. Go over and congratulate your opponent, be a good sportsman. Or you could sulk and be a bad loser. Your choice. ^_^

Midge acked all over and was secretly glad the duel was over. Getting to her feet she walked the ten passes over to Mafe and congratulated her. Mafe was good and Midge gave that to her. Sticking out her hand she offered it to Mafe to pull her up of the ground. Shaking hands with Mafe, Midge asked, "What do we do next?"

Mafe smiled gently at you. That was a good fight, she thought. I'm glad it ended when it did. Any longer, and i would have lost. I was running out of energy, my shield was down, and this girl was still raring to go. I guess you can say that I got pretty lucky. She crouched down and reached her hand out, grabbing the soft fabric of her cloak. In a swift movement, she pulls it on, picks up her bow and quiver, and then stands straight. Without even looking, she shrugs on her quiver. Finally, all suited up, she turns back to you.

"Next up, we're going hunting." Mafe grins lazily at you. "There's been a serious goblin infestation lately, and I've been hired to wipe it out. Because I'm also in charge of training around here, I'm bringing you with me. So come on!" She twirls, and keeping her hands straight, sprints out off towards the nearby forest. "Catch me if you can!"

Grinning, Midge sprinted off in Mafes direction as she entered the forest. It was dimly lit, the ancient trees canopy sucking up the sun light. Though, even more notice than the dim lighting, was the fowl smell. Finding and caching up to Mafe, Midge asked aloud "What’s that smell?”
