Night 0 The Summoning - Run Down Apartment Building, America. Thunder God Steps Forth With a sharp clunk, Fiddler drops his phone onto the counter top as he steps through his front door. With a heavy hand, he sends the door swinging shut. Looking around and seeing nothing amiss, he lets his jacket slip off his shoulders and pile on the floor as he strides through the kitchen and down the hallway. Rubbing his face as his eyes adjust to the thick darkness of his apartment, Fiddler leans up against the wall and takes a deep breath. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J1C5WeVmHbU&feature=related "It's about time huh?" looking back into the kitchen and barely seeing the glowing front of his cell phone, Fiddler reads the time. Pushing himself off the wall, he walks a few steps farther down the hallway and enters a small room which seems to only feature a worn metal door. Pulling the door open with a small grunt and revealing an upwards going staircase, Fiddler plods his way onward. After a large number of oddly steep steps, Fiddler opens another door and is greeted by the cold night air as he steps onto the roof of the apartment building. Scattered all about him are various pieces of appliance, fast food, and the usual garbage. Scaring away a few gulls, Fiddler begins to kick the detritus into the corners of the roof, clearing a large space. Giving the space quick scrutiny, Fiddler reaches into his pocket and extracts a small, glossy badge and sets it down in the center of the clearing. Walking to, and then reaching behind, an upturned garbage can, Fiddler pulls out a small cart with wheels: one of the ones designed to write lines on a sports field. Setting it in place, he traces many circles and lines over his previous made clearing, the entire process taking about half an hour. With the final lines coming together, Fiddler lets the tool clatter to the ground and strides to the center, standing over his badge. "Walking into this wide eyed stupid aren't I...?" Looking out over the sleeping city, Fiddler inhales deeply as the clock from one of his neighbor's apartments begins to chime. Pulling a small pocket knife from his sleeve, Fiddler looks down as he slides the blade across the palm of his hand. At the very instant of contact between the crimson stream and the chalky badge, a bright light erupts. Spreading through the chalk lines and causing the entire rooftop to glow, the energy contained within Fiddler's spell is released, contained, and focused with rough control. Slowly, the chalk lines begin to lift and retract, as if each were a glowing serpent, intent on massing in the center of the arrangement. Watching with slightly wide eyes, Fiddler takes a step back as each white tendril coils around the next, gathering into a lumpy, glowing figure standing before him. With purpose of some kind, the figure seems to bend forward and coalesce, taking the form of... a cloaked figure, prostrating itself. Smirking at the vagueness of the formation, Fiddler leans down in an attempt to see the face hiding in the gloom of the cloak's hood. Noticing this, the figure looks up, and Fiddler recognizes the face as that of an older man's, lined by a white goatee. Speaking in a gruff voice, the man stands up, and extends a hand towards Fiddler. "My name is Cidolfus Orlandu. On the battlefield, I was known as T.G. Cid. For the purposes of this war, you can call whatever you like." Nodding, Fiddler seems impressed by the man's demeanor; also taking note of the thick, dark armor being barely concealed by the heavy brown traveling cloak, and most of all, the man's scabbard. "Servant Saber is it? Pleasure to meet you. From the looks of things, you're a knight. I'm here to get revenge on the man who killed my mentor when I was just... a squire." With a wry grin, Fiddler reaches out and shakes his servant's hand. Grinning in return, but shaking his head slightly, Orlandu clears his throat. "Actually, master, I'm of the Rider class. But the rest is good to hear. I can tell we can work together just the way we need to." His words, though stiff and formal, do seem friendly enough. One of the few genuine smiles the man has left creeps to Fiddler's face. "That's probably even better. I'm sure you'd do fine as either, from the looks of things. You can call me Fiddler. Some people call me Fid, but I don't really care either way. Now, let's go back inside. It's too damn cold out here this time of year; you'll probably get that beard of yours stuck to you armor." As if to lead by example, Fiddler draws his arms around himself and marches right back down the stairs he arrived from. The promptness, though a bit disconcerting, brings a small grin to Orlandu's face. "Just fine, I'm sure" Edited by Vara, Nov 7 2010, 06:09 PM.

Night 1 Scratching his beard, Orlandu leans on the railing, looking out over the entrance hall. The mansion had proved much different than anything he was used to, and the man was certain he'd be lost by now if not for Fiddler. "Speak of the devil..." Stepping up behind Orlandu, Fiddler gives the servant a strange look. "No one was talking, you know." Grunting a laugh, Orlandu turns around and stretches his arms out. "Just thinking out loud. Leave an old man to his doddering." With a grin and another grunted laugh, Orlandu turns back to the railing. "Any idea who that guy is?" Suppressing a small smile, Fiddler takes a step forward and looks down over the railing. Sitting in the entrance hall is a teenage boy with spikey brown hair, and a white button-up shirt. "Don't recognize him. But if he can sleep like that he ain't someone we're gonna be fighting here. Probably one of those helpers they mentioned would be around here." Rubbing the back of his neck, Fiddler begins walking down the hallway. Falling in step, Orlandu lets his cloak fall back a little and rests a hand on the pommel of his sword. Wincing with each step as his armor jostles, Orlandu moves carefully, hoping to not give away his location to anyone and everyone in the mansion. Tilting his head back over his shoulder, Fiddler speaks up. "Y'know, I finally figured out why you make a better Rider than a Saber." "Oh? Why's that now?" "Cuz that armor and sword of yours won't stop riding my nerves." The joke, bad as it was, broke a jovial laugh out of Orlandu. "Don't I know it. I've got my hackles up and no one around." Despite the admittance, Orlandu relaxed. But that still didn't help the noise he was making any. Noting this and sighing, Orlandu takes a quicker pace than Fiddler as they approach the study, and passes the man. Pushing the door open slowly, Orlandu enters the room. Immediately noting the two moderators, Ange and Atma, but no one else: Orlandu finally relaxes all the way. "That's a welcome sight." Glancing around, Fiddler enters as well. Ever so casually, he even takes his hand off the grip of his gun. Gaining attention, Fiddler is shortly approached by Ange. Looking to her immediately, Fiddler grins. "Now how'd you know I meant you? No, let me guess. You were waiting for me. How sweet." Making a point of looking around the room, Fiddler slowly breathes out. "Not much but it'll have to do. Spectators are out though. Orlandu's too old and the other one's too creepy." "Kyahahaha! Ange, do you hear him? Do you? He thinks I'm too old for him~ Kyakaka!" Grabbing Fiddler by the hand and attempting to dance around, Atma's effort is met with utter... indifference. "Hear that Rider? She thinks your creepy. Such a cruel old bag." Chucking, Fiddler quickly sents Atma into a twirl and lets go. Turning on the spot, he drops himself into a chair and watches as the girl spins in place briefly before collapsing to the floor in a giggling mass. "Yeah yeah I hear you both." Scowling, Orlandu shakes his head as if accepting some secret truth, and looks over to Ange. Eyes widening, Orlandu sees the same disappointed head shake mirrored in the red haired girl. Noticing his surprise, Ange smiles briefly. "It happens, when you work with idiots." "Aye. It does." ... .. . A short time after, with Atma napping against the bottom of the large bed, and Ange speaking with a Stake at the table, Fiddler pulls Orlandu to the side. "I think I can hear people moving around somewhere. This place is so big, but its practically hollow. I don't think we want to stay around here too long." Glancing to the door, Fiddler frowns. With a grin, Orlandu pats the man on the shoulder. "We have a way out if we need it, Jack." Pointing to the window, Orlandu chuckles as his master groans. "I don't think we need to worry. I doubt anyone will play their cards this early." As if on ironic cue, two nearly simultaneous bangs ring out. The sounds, so sharp, cause Orlandu to start and draw his sword, and Fiddler to curse. Somewhere across the room, someone fell over. Looking over briefly, Fiddler calms at seeing no blood present. "You're probably right, any other day. How about we take the good plan, and not work with idiots? Actually, don't bother answering. I can tell from the look in your eye." With a grin, Fiddler draws his pistol and checks the ammo. Obviously satisfied, he puts it back into its holster. Looking around the room for some form of barricade and seeing only furniture far too big to move around the room, Orlandu shakes his head. "I'll take you up on that one." |

Night 2 "On three, okay?" Looking over at his weathered master, a small spark of adventure lights in Orlandu as the man grins and bends down slightly. Setting himself in a similar manner, Orlandu aligns himself. "1" . "2" .. "3!" With a few quick stomps grinding into the carpeted floor, Orlandu and Fiddler rush towards the window. Pushing a hand forward and bending the air pressure, Orlandu forces the portal open slightly as both he and Fiddler crash into, and then through, it. As if suspended in the air, Orlandu looks over at his master once more. The glass in the air glittering like rain, the man looks positively alive. Noticing his own fluttering cape and wake of specular glass, Orlandu feels a little younger himself. Landing with a crash into the nearby rose bushes, Orlandu and Fiddler roll, somehow managing to right themselves in the turbulence. The vertical standing is lost rather quickly however as the two men fall over again, laughing and dizzy. Squinting his eyes and wiping away a manly tear, Fiddler notices that he can't quite see the moon. Wiping his eyes clear, he inclines his head slightly across the already level ground and notices a haven of white in a sea of black. Frowning he reaches up and scratches his unshaven chin. "That's not the moon." His comment did not seem to be appreciated as someone shrieks, and whatever was above him quickly backs away. Rolling over, Fiddler notices that there are two people standing nearby, one looking sour and grisseled with his arm around the other, a girl looking offended and clutching at her skirt. Taking better stock of the two, Fiddler comes to his feet and notices that Orlandu's already done so. The man is around average height but is dressed how Fiddler imagines Orlandu looked in his earlier days. Shining, armless platemail with exposed, muscled arms and a brown bearded face. The man seems to stand guard over his somewhat similarly dressed companion, a blond girl wearing a short white dress adorned with patches of armor and knee-high boots. Glancing over at Orlandu's somewhat puzzled expression, Fiddler grins and looks back to the newcomers. "Yo. I just figured we'd drop in, see what was going on out here. Sound about right?" Raising an eyebrow to his partner, Fiddler grins. Shaking his head with an amused smile, Orlandu crosses his arms. "Good to meet you both." The armored man seems to mull quietly for a few moments before stepping forward, springing into loudness. "Gahaha! Aye, yes. Gracing us with your good landing I see!" Extending a calloused hand, the man looks Orlandu squarely in the eyes. "I never thought I'd meet two people so close to myself. Such a glorious event this is! Gaha!" Grasping the mans hand, Orlandu chuckles. "The same for me. You're both a sight for these sore old eyes." Regaining her composure with a practiced air, the blond woman steps up next to her partner. "Enough of the banter, you two. We need to do some business first. We request to work together with you so that we may come to a mutually helpful outcome. Of course, I'll still win, but you can help." Smirking at her comment, Fiddler reaches out a hand and sets it on her shoulder, earning himself a glare. "Girly, you got yourself a deal as certain as those need stripes, okay? Okay. All settled." Giving her shoulder a little shake, Fiddler quickly snatches up a flower stuck to his jacket and offers it to the girl. With a look of indignation, she bats it out of his hand and steps away, earning another loud laugh from her partner. "Gahaha, We've made a marvelous decision tonight! Come you two, I can smell the rain coming. I was thinking of preparing a tent just over here." Turning and walking after his female companion, the man drags Orlandu and Fiddler into his wake. Thinking for a moment, Orlandu speaks up. "Out of what? I don't see you carrying any bags." With a smile over his shoulder, the man shakes his head. "That doesn't matter. We'll dig a hole and call it a tent if we have to." "I don't think your lady friend will much appreciate that, from the looks of things." "Aye, you've a point there. There's flowers here though. Women like flowers right? There! Problem solved! Gahahahaha" Pounding on his armor slightly, his right arm making a strange ringing sound. Whispering to his servant, Fiddler leans slightly to the side. "I'm liking these two already. But do you see that axe on his back? I think it... moved." Making a face, Fiddler gestures slightly. Nodding sagely and shrugging his lack of knowledge, Orlandu makes the best of the entertaining situation. |

Night 3 Watching the man and woman carefully leave the Rose Garden, Fiddler turns to his servant. "That's an odd couple right there. Don't you think?" Raising an eyebrow, Orlandu looks over at Fiddler with his arms crossed. "They aren't half as strange a pair as you'd imagine. It's almost touching, how they act." Turning away from Fiddler, Orlandu causes the man's jaw to drop. "Woah woah, Rider... are you?" Leaning in slowly, Fiddler is forced to lean back quickly as Orlandu's armored hand swings out. "Aye, I am. Now quiet about it. I haven't been able to meet someone like them for decades now let an old man enjoy himself." Snarling, Orlandu stomps away. Surpressing his chuckle, Fiddler slowly exhales and begins walking in the opposite direction. Shaking his head, the man grins. "Old man, you're too human for this." Thinking of everything to come, of warfare in general, and Orlandu's profession in it, Fiddler continues to shake his head in disappointment. "Too human. Too familiar. We ain't gonna lose this one." Hardening a resolve thought lost deep within him, Fiddler reaches deep into his pockets and slowly withdraws a long thin cord. Looking around at all the nearby fences and gates, he gives a crooked grin. "Let's get the show ready." Going about his business, Fiddler continues his night completely unknowing of the small girl perched on a small gazebo-type structure. Laying out languidly in front of the moon, the child tosses her long blond hair to the side and grins. Sometimes, people can be amusing to watch. |

Night 4 Stepping down the stairway carefully, Fiddler and Orlandu make their way closer to the beach. Looking over at his master and once again adjusting his hood, almost pointedly by now, Orlandu chuckles. "I didn't expect the rain to last this long. It's been constant so far. You don't suppose we're in for a storm, do you?" Feeling the water soaking him thoroughly, Fiddler slowly turns his head towards his servant, a deep scowl locked in place. "We've been in for one already by the feel of it. If it doesn't end soon I'm going to start digging a hole." Raising an eyebrow, Orlandu stops in place. Noting this and shaking his head, Fiddler keeps walking. "I'm not explaining till either the rain stops or you get me dry. Deal with it." The snappy comment causing Orlandu to laugh only deepens Fiddler's scowl. The pair continues and as they reach the sand, they notice two people in the distance. Cautiously, Fiddler and Orlandu approach. As they near, a floating woman makes her way over to them and all three pause, observing each other. Spitting water from his mouth, Fiddler mutters. "Another pretty blond woman. I thought they didn't make those in Japan." Standing in a business-like uniform with long blond hair and a notable lack of gravity, the woman is a stunning sight in the raining darkness. Somewhere in the background is another person, standing out against the darkness but covered in a strange glow. Spitting again, Fiddler looks at the woman. "It seems my friend here has been the only one smart enough to bring something for the damn weather. Glad I'm not the only one looking stupid and wet." Cocking his head to the side, Fiddler scowls deeper. "Lemme guess. Your buddy back there is warm and dry under that glowy little bubble. You're wet though. Want me to go hit him for you? Brat could use it, letting a girl get soaked out here." Chucking, Orlandu looks up at the woman and gives her a sympathetic look. In response, the woman smiles cheerfully at the two men, causing Orlandu to flushe ever so slightly. Fiddler simply stops scowling. "Here. Let me help you for you. It's not the same, but...." Floating up into the air slightly, the blond woman brushes her hair away and extends a hand out, casting a very minor barrier over the Fiddler and his servant, shielding them from the rain. "That will help for now. I don't know how you can dry out though." Looking worried, the woman glances around a few times before noticing that the person from inside the bubble as come out. Standing at the same height as the woman who is in turn roughly the same height as Fiddler, he appears to be a teenage boy. Wearing shorts and a hooded sweater pulled over his face, Fiddler suppresses the urge to tell him off for dressing like that in the rain. At least Fiddler's wearing a jacket. Looking over Orlandu and his master and turning away a little, the boy speaks mostly to himself. "Great. More bastards. Just don't bother me." Crossing his arms, Uso glares at the two men from under his hood. |

Night 5 Watching his servant casually talk to the blond, floating woman, Fiddler gives a small grin. For a soldier of such power, the man certainly was a people person. Remembering all the hardened officers back on the force, Fiddler shakes his head, not understanding how people could have changed so much over the years. Stepping up behind the woman is the young man, who looks up at Fiddler and asks, "How many people have you encountered so far?" Taking a moment to think about the answer he should give, Fiddler watches as the man slowly grow angry at the momentary pause, yet tries to hide it. Shrugging, Fiddler gives the young man his answer. "A few. The island sounds pretty busy when you aren't down here." Suppressing a chuckle, Fiddler looks back over his shoulder, making sure his flares hadn't shot off while he wasn't looking. Scowling, the young man turns towards Orlandu. "You. Have you killed anyone yet? Fought anyone?" Taken aback, Orlandu withdraws a step and shakes his head. The words seem to aggravate Fiddler though, who takes a step forward and grabs the young man by the collar. "Look here, boy. Have a little respect, and don't use that tone around me when you're talking about people getting killed." Growling the words, Fiddler lets the man pull himself away with a muffled curse, his hood falling back and revealing blond hair and flaring red eyes. Glaring, the man turns on his heel and begins to walk away, dragging his partner with him. Leaning over to Orlandu, Fiddler points with his thumb at the pair. "They're pretty similar aren't they? In the looks I mean. She's too nice to be associated with a brat like that." Crossing his arms and nodding, Orlandu watches the two in question turn to eachother and begin talking out of earshot. "Aye, that's true. He's a dark one. We should watch ourselves around him, but I think we can trust his friend. For now at least." Smiling, Fiddler gives his servant a light punch to the shoulder. "Is that a soft spot I see? You couldn't be falling for her could you?" Laughing evilly, Fiddler watches Orlandu's expression open wide in shock. Sputtering the man turns away from his master. "Don't be ridiculous. I'm too old for that." The response, too much for the man, causes Fiddler to begin taunting his servant on into the night. With a confused look, the woman trots after her partner until they're out of earshot from the others. |

Night 6/7? (I think I kinda erased one of the updates at some point... Oh well..) Wiping the sweat from his brow, Orlandu straightens out with a groan. Looking around for his master, Orlandu watches the man's feet approach at shoulder level. With a half-grin, Orlandu looks up at the man. "Something you need, Fid?" Watching as his servant rests his weight onto the shovel in his hands, Fiddler looks down into the hole. Plucking the cigarette from his mouth, Fiddler toss the butt into the hole. "Not at all, Rider. But say, that's an impressive hole. Any plans?" Noting the size of it, Fiddler scratches at his unshaven chin. With a chuckle, Orlandu resumes his work of shoveling. After a quiet minute of Fiddler watching without comment, the servant finally nods, as if to himself. Raising an eyebrow, Fiddler crosses his arms. "Oh, you have an idea now?" "Aye. I'm making a tent." Edited by Vara, Dec 15 2010, 07:17 PM.

Night 8 Panting, Fiddler bends forward and supports himself with his arms braced against his knees. With a cheery smile, Lancer pats him on the back. "Fiddler-kun, that was very impressive." Behind the woman, her master grunts, possibly in agreement. Laughing quietly, Rider pulls on his cloak once more. "Aye, Fid. You've done us all in. Who would have thought you'd be so good at a children's game." Grinning a very crooked grin and shaking his head, Orlandu draws Fiddler's ire. Snapping his head to glare at the man, Fiddler takes in a deep breath and stands out straight. "You're just jealous I can still move like a young man, aren't you?" With a hint of cold humor, Fiddler taunts the old servant. His grin shrinking but by no means disappearing, Orlandu chuckles and walks away. Watching this with a worried expression, Lancer looks repeatedly between the two men before turning to look at her master. Striking a confused expression, Uso spreads his arms wide. "Why the hell would I know what to do? I hate these guys!" His words, taken seriously and disregarded by Fiddler, almost wound Lancer as she begins to pout. |
