The Gates Are Open. The Legend of the Witch once haunted this island, and grew even stronger with the deaths of the Ushiromiya family. The curse is still very much real, yet the few people on the island seem confident in their brief stay here as they humor the New Head's wishes. The Outdoors Dock: The point of arrival for most visitors, this dock stretches out into the ocean, a welcoming arm to anyone daring enough to test the Witch. A ferry may be found here which will travel to the Shrine, back to here, to the Private Docks, and back to the starting point. This process repeats itself, changing location once each night. Shrine: An old, spiritual shrine meant to suppress the Witch. It appears as if someone has defiled it in some way, rendering it useless. Beach: There isn't much to say here. If it looks like a duck and quacks like a duck, it might be standing here. Pretty sandy, so watch out, because that stuff gets everywhere. Rose Garden: A large garden of roses stretching out before the mansion. Somehow, the roses have kept growing through the years and still stand healthy. A small gazebo of sorts may be found in the center, though it feels rather unlucky. Torian: The Guesthouse in which visitors sleep. The only way to get here is through the Rose Garden, but it doesn't seem like any of the new guests will be staying here very much... Garden Shed: This is where tools are stored. It's a bit dirty, but rather secure. Though... that didn't seem to help in the past. Chapel: Installed by Kinzo many years ago, the Chapel remains in good condition despite its age. Any divinity held by the place has long since been erased however. Forest: A large forest covers parts of Rokkenjima, and it is said that wolves live in this forest and help protect its secrets. Who knows what you might find back there. Kuwadorian: Is exactly what you would find back there. The secret mansion erected by Kinzo to house his lover Beatrice. This building is still in amazingly good condition, despite being quite dusty. Private Docks: Able to be seen from sea, the local ferry knows of this location and will take isle-dwellers to and from the other Dock. Hidden Passage: Also found within the forest, the hidden passage leads somewhere deep and dark. A rotting smell permeates the area, but the source is nowhere to be seen. No one would have put the idea of this passage past Grandfather. Jail Cells: An area only normally reachable by the Hidden Passage, these cells are located somewhere beneath Kuwadorian, but the connection between the two seems to be blocked. What kind of struggle happened here? Cliffs: Some cliffs overlooking the ocean. There's a narrow path down to the bottom and the ocean, but it looks quite dangerous. Don't slip. Ocean: This area is connected to the Docks, Beach, Shrine, Private Docks, and Cliffs. Those with Flight or some sort of swimming skill may move between 2 areas connected to the Ocean by moving through it, without the help of the ferry. Ferry: At the cost of the support action of each passenger, as well as one space of movement, a ferry may transfer its passengers between the Docks, Private Docks, and Shrine. It is possible to move from the Private Docks to the Shrine (or vice versa), but this costs 2 movement spaces and the support action of every passenger, as opposed to one movement space and the aforementioned support action. This transfer is immediate and does not move through the Ocean, as an area. Anyone with the ability Riding is able to take a rowboat, which carries 1 servant and master pair. Ushiromiya Mansion While inside the Mansion, guests are asked to behave with dignity and honor. Though that stops few. Despite the vastness of the mansion, the sounds made by combat spread throughout it's entirety, alerting those within as to where they are. Entrance Hall: If you had entered the mansion many years ago, you may have seen a portrait of the Golden Witch Beatrice here. Now however, there is only the portrait of a young, red haired girl. Dining Hall: A room of many last meals past; a calm, eerie feeling spreads itself out here. Fresh food is somehow served each night. No one questions the occurence, least of all in front of the Head. Gaap seems to be having some fun around here though. Be wary... At the end of every turn that is a multiple of 5 (Nights 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30...), a series of holes will open in the Dining Hall floor during the Decay phase. These holes will transport anyone present in the Dining Hall to the Jail Cells immediately. Boiler Room: A rather foul smelling room, even today. The boiler room is located in the lower levels, and contains a door that leads outside. This is the only other way into the mansion, but it is certainly less polite. Kinzo's Study: Complete with the magic-proof, autolocking door; the Head's study remains rather quiet. Many liquors and alchemic supplies can be found around the large room, still keeping their pungent smell. A mad laughter seems to come from the room in the midst of the island's few storms. Those looking for a quick exit should look to the window. The one winged eagle has been more generous in recent years, and may help you escape the current situation. Spread your wing and fly! Movement to the Rose Garden from here is a one way trip, and the Study may not be entered while approaching from the Rose Garden. |
