Members of RSPClan, OMEC Games, and OMEC Entertainment,

It's been a good, long run. I've had a lot of fun entertaining my little hobby over the years, meeting new people and making new friends in the process. From the RuneScape in-game clan meetings to the MSN/Windows LIVE Messenger conversations and the incredible number of threads and posts across RSP and OMEC, there's been no shortage of any sense of bonding and seeking familiarity with one another. Through our time together, we've grown into something of what I'll call a small family. It is hard to look back and realize the time has come to say goodbye.

Unfortunately, it doesn't take a Statistician to tell me that numbers are continuing to fall. As time trickles on, the volume of new threads and posts have dwindled and there are no new members to replace the ones that inevitably go. There is no blame or shame here, these are simply the facts. I can't justify spending time on a failing idea as I will only end up failing the community - failing all of you. I have this idea in my head to create a really cool place for people to casually (or not, if they choose) discuss the things that matter to them with others who share those interests. A place to create memories like those RSP/OMEC has created for me. Social Networking is killing ideas like these and has been, slowly, since the days of MySpace. I need something fresh, and the idea behind OMEC is stale.

I can't thank each and every one of you enough for your continued support and encouragement whenever I needed it, even if I didn't quite deserve it. You've all been better friends to me than I've been to you, and for that I'm truly sorry. As the Administrator of RSP/OMEC, it could be argued that it wasn't necessarily my "job" to be your friends, but because of how our community was started, how it grew, and the way it developed, that logic doesn't apply to this situation. I made obligations, and I didn't deliver. I did this consistently - and I still do. When I can refresh my outlook and conceptualize a fresh idea, I assure that you guys will be among the very first to know! :D

Fun FactsThe RSP Forums opened on 5-September-2005 and remained open until 31-January-2010 when they were closed for the release of OMEC Games. Through the life of the RSP Forums and the RSPClan community, here's what was accomplished there:The OMEC Games Forums opened on 31-January-2010, initially as a conversion to new forum software by Zathyus Networks, Inc. (InvisionFree/Zetaboards). On 28-December-2010, OMEC Games officially dropped support for RSPClan (which had their own, dedicated forum section until this date) and shifted focus from just RuneScape to other online, multiplayer games as well. The OMEC Games/OMEC Entertainment Forums have been announced closed as of 30-April-2012, though the forums remain open for final thoughts and closure for the community members. Through the life of the OMEC Games Forums and the OMEC community, here's what was accomplished:Though the OMEC Games/OMEC Entertainment Forums were not open anywhere near as long as the RSP Forums, the OMEC community has proven successful in meeting or exceeding yearly targets and averages set to measure progress in correlation to the RSP community. Previous numbers indicate that OMEC could have exceeded RSP in most, if not all, areas though this may no longer be the case due to declining numbers through the last year.
