Alrighty now that we've had a few taverns and settled in with each other a bit more it's time st start talking storyline. The questions I have for everyone (and I do mean everyone) are--

1. What kind of storyline are you wanting to go through?

2. Should it be based around a guild member(s) back story or something more company wide?

3. Are you willing to volunteer a character for a role in it?

4. Should it take place on tavern nights or separate from them?

I expect everyone to answer xP

1. What kind of storyline are you wanting to go through?
I for one, am itching for something we can talk about, maybe something a little dramatic. I think something that everyone can participate in will be important, and something compelling. I think the first one might necessarily need not be "epic", however, I do believe it should be something that brings characters that participate together. We need to establish the Trading Company as a Trading company. We haven't been doing many jobs as far as I know and I would really like to be getting on that *stares longingly at the jobs section of the forums*

2. Should it be based around a guild member(s) back story or something more company wide?
I don't think it should be about a back story, why? Because if the storyline revolves around a certain person, others will feel left out. Looking at what we have now for characters, a lot of people have storylines already going or ones that others are not involved with. This first roleplay should be about the guild, not a specific individual. And i'm not saying we shouldn't have key players, but I am saying we shouldn't have to focus on one person to move the storyline.

I would also like to say something else. And whether or not people agree with me is fine..~ I would like it to be done in open areas as much as possible. Why? For one, it's exposure. People see we have something going. And if people see we have something going, more roleplayers will want to join. With our skills, roleplaying in public is a very good thing because it will attract other skilled roleplayers (or people who want to learn and develop). Even if it doesn't boost membership, we can possibly get other guilds to be involved, which can expand the roleplay for us for now and the future. I know some people don't feel comfortable with random roleplay sometimes, and this isn't, persay, random roleplay, it's structured roleplay in public that could, conceivably, be open to others to join.

3. Are you willing to volunteer a character for a role in it?
Yes, I am. I am willing to make characters as well to use as throw aways if we need them (say, if we need a messenger, or someone who dies, i can do that).

4. Should it take place on tavern nights or separate from them?
I don't think we should necessarily have a certain night for them, but I do think they should be announced in advance. What I mean by this, is that when the time comes for a breaking point in the story, it should be able to be developed when needed. having a special night for it one, restricts some people from attending and two, can lead to trouble if certain key players can't attend. The tavern nights seem to be often disrupted by real life issues, and if people get really involved in the roleplay, and roleplay the storyline in between tavern nights, many people might find themselves waiting and waiting for the next update. Even if the goblin storyline in AR was rather unstructured, I liked the way people could shape the roleplay as we chose. If we were to structure it a certain way, with certain characters guiding the roleplay in a direction, it might be beneficial to us. It would promote unity, make everyone feel like they have an important role, and allow those organizing the roleplay (read, Kaliet), be able to still have surprises in store for them.

1. What kind of storyline are you wanting to go through?

I don't know about you guys, but I'd love to have a deeper look into this whole... "THE OWNER" thing.[[asuming we're still going with that?..]] It's quite mysterious and - while I'd like to keep it that way - I do think that the more storylines we have actually focusing on the inner workings on the Company and etc etc the more we'll be more of a COMPANY and less of a buncha people who play employee. Er. Was that even helpful? :O

2. Should it be based around a guild member(s) back story or something more company wide?
I think we need a good mix of both. I am kind of twitchy about having guild-wide-with-absolutely-no-specific-stuff because that just sends me back to the memory of me getting invited to be a part of a storyline and thinking I was going to have a big role and it'd be fun.. and then getting to watch absolutely no one notice me, AND have the ENTIRE TAVERN OF PEOPLE ALL GET INVITED AS WELL. Le-sigh. They never even noticed that I left and never came back. ): But I think it could be fun too, as long as the storyline is left flexible. I REFUSE to be a part of storylines that allow for no lee-way or creativity by the people involved. ): I want to feel like my character is really in an unplanned situation and has an effect of SOME KIND on it. I mean obviously, there are limits, you know, we can't absolutely rip up the plotline, but.. give a little! D:

I also, of course, twitch a little at "THIS PERSON IS THE ONLY PERSON WHO MATTERS LOL" but I think in both situations a good balance can be found.

I want to see both. :)

3. Are you willing to volunteer a character for a role in it?
Anyone you want. Aanyone. I can't offer up an empty slot to make a new char for a role, //SOBSOB// but I can offer up any of my characters. :)

4. Should it take place on tavern nights or separate from them?
I'd like to think it'd be taking place seperate, but maybe have tavern nights as major plot spikes or coming-together-as-a-group-over-stuff things. Yanno. Rawr! I wore my brain out with the first/second question. ;_;

1. What kind of storyline are you wanting to go through?

I am completely open to just about any type of storyline, though I do feel that while we can reach high for our first storyline, maybe for the very first one we shouldn't reach for the stars so to speak. Something fun that everyone can get in on if they choose to do so.

2. Should it be based around a guild member(s) back story or something more company wide?

No, not around any specific guild member's back story.. that can be exclusive. This should be inclusive. There are times still where when folks w/ an already ongoing story about their characters start RPing that I feel, um.. uncomfortable in joining in... like I'm interupting. Centering it around a single or few character's stories might cause that same type of feeling to newer folks. Granted, our background stories will flavor how we react, but that makes it fun!

Definately something company wide, and I agree with Emin, maybe for a suggestion, we look a bit more into the mystery of our "owner" but for the sake of future RP story lines, I don't think we should EVER be able to completely solve that one... but hey! nothing wrong with the first storyline being the longest! :D

3. Are you willing to volunteer a character for a role in it?

um... YES! My main, any of my alts, and I have a few extra unfilled slots for throw-away characters as needed! I am at Kali's command. *bow*

4. Should it take place on tavern nights or separate from them?

In the interests of being flexable, maybe a bit of both... have major plot twists and points happen on Tavern Nights, and the ability to advance the story at anytime. Real life loves to rear it's ugly head and should always come first. The more flexable we are in how we can move the story line, the less chance anyone is gonna feel like they can't participate because of a Real Life conflict.

just my 2 copper! ;)

Maybe all of us are given the same job. Something big. Specially since were suppose to be doing these jobs from some shadowy guy, yet I don't see them happening.

2. Should it be based around a guild member(s) back story or something more company wide? Either way, just make sure everyone can be involved throughout. Maybe everyone has a piece in it to move it along

3. Are you willing to volunteer a character for a role in it? of course

4. Should it take place on tavern nights or separate from them?
Well you have one day for Rping, and 6 other free days, why not use them. Course real life is always a fun issue wheee^_^

The introduction to the first part of the storyline is posted! Everyone is encouraged to post their IC reactions to the job in that thread. More information will be coming out soon, for now though I want to get everyone on board realizing their is a job and that it is an important one.
