I'm all for tavern= our guild chat. Cellphone thing isn't bad, but being able to see a person, whenever and where ever is weird to me and it tends to lean away from meeting people in person within the guild. Why would you when you can just view them as if they are already there>>

I think Aylora means this Emin, -What if people are actually within the tavern rping. Will someone be able to Rp with that group through the guild chat, as if she were there.- I think thats what she meant anyway ^o)

The guild channel of course should, IMO, be used for the tavern. Always. But I'm wondering, what if we'd like to participate in what is going on in the tavern but given time limits on our game time we also would love to spend a bit of time crafting, harvesting or something else like that, do we need to be physically ( with our toon obviously ) in the tavern or can we visually see as well as hear what is going on and take part in it?

I'm not entirely sure what you mean?

Eshplain prz?
What I mean is , here's an example... there is RP in the tavern but I'm not there in the tavern with my character. Can I still participate in the RP via my earring/device? Can I only hear or can I see what is going on also?

If I can't participate at all then it will limit my RP with the guild somewhat because I don't want to spend ALL my in game time in the tavern only. But if I can RP via the earring/device while harvesting or crafting, things that take time but not a lot of attention, then I can participate more in the guild's RP. Does that clarify it any??? This can be difficult to explain I see!

I'm gonna try to answer, and see if it's A) the right answer and B) the answer to your question. :$

The actual "tavern" is only going to run, physically, one night a week, and also on the forums all the time, I believe? There's a forum section for it anyway.

Guild chat is ICly, that tavern, but I would assume on its off-days when it's reserved for OHTC members, which would make RP sense for why it's just us.

If you are - physically - out in the world harvesting, you may OF COURSE roleplay in guildchat as if your character were in the tavern rather than running around picking up roots. Or, just that your character is chatting with those guild members in the tavern through the earrings, which may or may not be better for those half-paying-attention situations. ;)

.. uh. I lost my train of thought, BAD, but, does that at all answer your question? :ermm:

AHHH OK now I understand. The one night a week tavern, for sure should be face to face and I'll endeavor to be there as often as I can! I LOVE that stuff.

The off nights, when it's just us, that's when I meant it would be nice to be able to participate even if I'm not physically there with my character. I gather from your answer that yes indeed we can participate even if not there at those times. This way I don't have to always give up all my game time to BE there but can still interact ICly. I just don't play all day and every day and thus when I do I do like to actually play the game plus RP!

Thanks for your patience with me. I guess somewhere along the way I missed that the tavern in terms of a RP event would be one night a week as opposed to ongoing, although I gather that if someone wishes to BE there at any time they can be, of course....but at those times those not present face to face won't get left out. YAY!

Edited to add:
Dal, I disagree that being able to have visuals via the earring/device will keep people from actually face to face RPing. In fact, I think it will do the opposite. I've known people are extremely hesitant for whatever reasons to do face to face RP but once they get to RP, with visuals via a device type thingie they gain confidence and a level of comfort with the other guild members and are more likely to show up face to face times.
