By the way of introduction, This idea is the song of the future, I have raised this topic to present in the next days my pictures and plans about a hive city layout and concept. Realization is not expected on the corner. In the future we can discuss the matter here. I will work on it because I have imperial building plans I wish to model. So dear LFH, I'd like to continue here the conversation which we did in the hellp mee topic. ( I was stupid and missed one 'r' from each skyscraper word, pardon me) ![]() I think 500 m high mountain is big enough. Hell, we could settle for less. But if we would have 5 levels, and the height of one step would be 100 m and the width (of the road) would be 50 m, -that's 2:1 ratio- we could reach a nicely upsweeping hive. The streets would be wide enough for gang-war scenarios, and the circular shape of the layout makes an endless ribbon. I know AI don't like bridges, but we can force AI to cross bridge if the situation is safe. However they are best in multiplayer (not the AI). Other "decoration" bridges from skyscrapers or half finished ones and platforms are stands for roofs of buildings in OFP. Only players use them for sniping. Texture on wall is indeed hard task to make. Fingers crossed. If the edges are ruining the overall view, additional model of frieze row could be applicated. I think what we can present with one hive city map are the following things: Gang-war, siege, cooperative rpg, serial killer game. Oh! And Judge Dredd! I will post some concepts about hive city pedestrians too. Edited by Profane Pagan, May 23 2012, 11:51 PM.

Hey bud Look this is possible but will take a very very long time to make the models / position them, another problem will have to be the AI them selves will not be able to navigate through this "hive". we wish it could be posssible. |

This idea is a thing I want to realize in the far future. But I understand I should show more images about this concept. I will post it. Without proper demonstration of course this seems insolvable. But keep in mind Arrow, this wouldn't be just a city on a map. This would be one map aka a big mountain. Above written size parameters are just hypothetical numbers. And OFP AI is not as dumb as looks like in firefight. |

Do you mean a sort of giant wedding cake? With tiers? Or Mayan pyramid. But "carved" from the terrain, rather than being a mesh? Example: ![]() I haven't seen it tried before. But in theory it should work. |
