Before anyone else downloads it, Please be aware it's the same game, with some bug fixes, and scripting commands added. There may be a small performance increase, but that's not confirmed. Some of the commands are non-functioning atm.But may be addressed. Despite the name,it has absolutely nothing to do with ARMA.It is still OFP. ![]() IG units will suffer the "unit stuck in the ground" effect under this "patch". This relates to the main config apparently. This should be fixable. |

What Got me on this news .. They took the 10 yr old game .. Fixed some bugs ... What "OTHER" Game Company does this ?? Do not think any do this .. ( if any one knows of any other ten plus year old game get bug fixes please post ) This goes to show , this game may be old but people still love and play it as if it was NEW. EDIT: So this is just changing some UI and some bugs .. Game play and Graphics are still the same ?? .... oh oh .. my Hamster is looking at me .. he has white FOAM around the mouth .. me thinks he is going rabit ... Can't keep nothing from him these days .. DAMN ! ! ! Edited by ladie from hell, Jun 23 2011, 01:08 AM.

Well. They fixed some bugs, and introduced others. It would seem to roughly coincide with the release of a new package. So It' s probably just house cleaning, more than anything else. The whole "birthday" thing may have been a bit misleading initially. It's OFP.There's nothing new in terms of content or visuals. If you intend on using the few new scripting commands, then people will need to have the patch.Nothing more than that. Anyone who had 1.96,it's pretty much business as usual.Load/startup times are quicker. But performance should remain the same. |

sorry did not see that part ... HUMM ... Would it be that much of a deal to fix the config/memory lod?? or what ever will be needed. And as for 1.96 to 1.99 if there is only a few things different ( UI load screen and such ) , Maybe nothing is needed to change over and stay with 1.96 . I for one will not be 100% anything on it till next month. |

Apparently they're working on resolving the config issue. So that should sort the animation problem.Other than that and the new commands,it hasn't changed much.Although Weasel may find the new commands useful. In which case, everybody would need it to play. 1.96 servers and 1.99 are not compatible. It's also an attempt to finally wrest control of the title away from Codemasters. Hence the name change and the "stand-alone" nature of it. I'm not saying don't download it.I'm just letting people know what it actually is. I have it already. It runs fine with WW4.No major bugs. |
