Warhammer 40K RPG

First of all hi. Great job with the mod, have been playing it for a while now but have only recently got the updated version. Really can't believe how good all the models/textures are and the islands are superb.

I decided I would make a Space Marine role playing game style mission set on the planet Armageddon. At the moment it's about 40% done and still have lots to do. So in a nutshell this is what the RPG is going to be about:

Space Marines have come to planet Armageddon to set it up as a recruiting world, it already has imperial guard stationed on the planet. However soon the Ork's arrive with their WAAAGGHH! banners and start to cause a problem but the Imperial Guard are working on that. However things get worse when the Ork's disturb the Necrons deep under the surface of the planet. Now a giant fight for supremacy of the planet has begun, things are looking grim for all sides when the Chaos turn up to destroy everything. However soon the Tau discover the planet and have come to claim it in the name of The Greater Good.

What actually is in the mission:

Ability to level up (total of 10 levels)

Unlockable weapons and vehicles.

Hero units can be requested for a short time (has a cool down). These heroes have special abilities that can help you greatly (only 1 hero can be used at a time)

Can drop pod to certain areas on the battle field via being teleported to main ship in orbit.

Random war gear drops on bosses.

Unlock squads (tactical marines, assault marines, devastator squad etc)

Unlock powerful hero squads (dreadnought, terminators)

Never ending gameplay due to the capture system. Each race takes turns attacking/defending cities randomly.

Safe Areas look and feel "alive" with daily life going on around you.

OK so like I said it's about 40% done and I am still scripting like mad to get it completed ASAP. Should be ready in a few weeks, still got a few more plans to do like dynamic dialog. If anyone has any other ideas that could be implemented then I will try and put them into the mission as well.

Well so far i've completed the following:

Level up system.
Heroes and hero powers.
Recruiting system.
Drop pod system.
Safe areas and safe transport.

However i'm now on making units attack and take areas then defend them. Now I know how to spawn units and also understand how to get them to go to a marker. However it won't spawn them unless there is a existing group - not a problem. The problem is is that impguardmainspawn who is the existing group is in the safe area and must not be killed. So I spawn impguardmain who is going to be the new group leader I then get impguardmain to leave the impguardmainspawn group so he is his own group. I then spawn imperial guards and try to get them to join impguardmain and it doesn't work.

I'm not sure what i'm doing wrong but I would like to know, if you want I can post the script lines I have if that helps.

By the way what would be more popular because there is still time to change:
Never ending capture the cities
or
Indepth story line with specific missions and special dialog options/character interaction.

So really more action based or more role play?

To be honest it would be easier to do the role play aspect of interesting characters and back story. So far i've put about 60 hours into making the mission, it's gone through several different stages. I'm trying to make it more like a totally different game set in the WH40K universe.

how long per mission does it take so far??
