Ok the OFP editor is honestly the worst editor I have ever used, and I've used some lousy editors from very dated games. Is there any SNAP TO GRID function, or gridlines to help place even objects? Im sort of driving myself mad trying to line up walls and parapets with my mouse, one little fidget and copy-paste at a time.... I really hope there is at least a fan made editor somewhere out there.. |

Don't think so - or I should say none that I'm aware of. One of the things I do is to make a few walls line up then copy and paste 2 to make 4 to make 8 etc... Also turning the objects with shift key and holding down the left mouse button tends to put them out of alignment. You could try editing them with ex. object setPos [getpos otherobject select 0,getpos otherobject select 1,getpos otherobject select 2] To align with the afore mentioned method - tweak this way: [(getpos otherobject select 0)+3,(getpos otherobject select 1)-2,getpos otherobject select 2] |

Ok, thanks but one small problem, you did not explain the instructions clear enough. What goes where? How's 4000(squared) meters of perfectly* aligned wall sound? ![]() *to within OFP standards |

Sounds like what I'm doing in Space Hulk. For the most part - you can align two sections of wall - then copy and paste those and realign to old wall - and keep doubling wall sections till you have one long section. Only problem is if you try to use the shift key and turn them to say face North South - then there will be some misalignment - that will make you pull your hair out trying to fix. the other method with getPos object - will maneuver the sections for you - but will require some typing as all objects would need to be named. I reserve that method for special cases. object setPos [getpos otherobject select 0,getpos otherobject select 1,getpos otherobject select 2] object setPos [(getpos otherobject select 0)+3,(getpos otherobject select 1)-2,getpos otherobject select 2] The latter line allows you to shift object left and right along x and y axis.... otherobject select 0 = x axis I forget - N/S - E/W? otherobject select 1 = y axis I forget - N/S - E/W? otherobject select 2 = z axis - up/down |
