Ok you might call me an atheist, but I'm not completely one. I havn't been to church since I was 6, and that was because I never found the time to go. I'm personally half-and-half on the whole does God exist? topic. No I don't believe in Evolution. I think that's just stupid. So I do believe a god created us. I blame God for a lot of my problems as most people do. But I don't believe the whole God punishes you if you do bad things. I think that's just Karma. And my beliefs on Karma will go in a later topic. Does God exist? Do you think he created us all? What if God decides to kill us all because of all the wars and junk? What would happen if there was no God in any religion? These are all interesting questions and if no one posts in this topic I understand. -Discuss. |

Someone who agrees with me on Evolution! ![]() Yes, of course God exists and created us all. Evolution would never happen by itself - I wasn't there when the world was made, but God could've used evolution to make the earth (read the first few verses in the Bible) or did something else. 'Cause where would the chemicals that blew up come from? Out of nowhere? There's some people who think there is a god who made those chemicals and then sat there to watch what would happen. Well, that would be boring after a billion years, and we wouldn't look anything like him. God wouldn't kill us for that because he didn't make us perfect. Plus, he did sacrifice so he could forgive us. The world will end but that won't happen anytime soon and he won't go on a rampage killing everyone. (If you want me to explain just ask) I don't think you can really blame God for problems in your life. Sure, he does make things happen so we can learn some lessons, but you really can't go, "You made me say so-and-so now this person hates me" or "You killed so-and-so now I'm miserable" etc etc. We have to take responsibility for our problems - we make problems for others too, and when the push comes to shove you can't blame someone else. (No offense in any of this post - sorry if someone does get offended. Sometimes I might type something offensive and not realize it - just tell me and I'll edit it/take it out/etc) I'd ask what Karma was but you're going to make a topic for that. |

+1. Brilliant post, you showed me off. Well someone/something had to create us. But the earth was created from other stars exploding. And science has proved this. Why didn't He make us perfect? It would've saved a lot of lives in the process. He could've just given us all the technology we have now, a long time ago. A lot of people are talking the world is going to end on a certain date like 2012. Saying "Oh God..." in times of crises, ect. is blaming God for things. I guarentee that 99% of people blame God for their problems atleast once. Yes I think we should take responsibility for our actions. There's good Karma and bad Karma. Karma is something that happens if you do something good/bad. If you do something bad, something bad will happen to you and vice versa. I'll go into more detail later. Yes I believe in god & just to let everyone know, I do believe in evolution. I think god did create us, also I don't god would kill us for being bad. Otherwise we would have died a while back. I don't think he want to effect how we think or what we do, thats why he doesn't do anything when we go to war or stuff like that. Also how could there be a religion with know god. Isn't the base of a religion revolve around some type of god(s)? So I can't really explain what would happen if there was no god in religion. But at a guest I say total war and killing because without a god, who will people please or listen to? (No One) |

In the bible, it says if we were made with no choice we would be miserable. So he did make us perfect at the start, but he gave us a choice to stay perfect or do wrong. Then our ancestors did some wrong, and then taught their kids how to do wrong, and so on and so on. (What I meant by perfect in the last post is by having no choice, being kinda like a robot doing every single command with no questions etc) (I gotta wait 16 hours to do a +1 again DX) Edited by Sarah, 02/01/2008 - 06:39 pm.

To me there is one simply explanation... Look around you... does all the things just appear like that? do our body just form the way it works? do our cell just make themselves? |

Actually...Cells divide and make new cells. That's 9th grade Biology for you. =P Yeah in the bible it says...I don't care what the bible says honestly. He shouldn't have given us the choice. A lot of us would still be alive now. |

to me there is no disputing the existence of Allah [swt]. The proofs of Islam are NUMEROUS. The Scientific Miracles in the Holy Qur'an The Qur'an is the literal word of God, which He revealed to His Prophet Muhammad (saws) through the Angel Gabriel. It was memorised by Muhammad (saws), who then dictated it to his companions. They, in turn memorised it, wrote it down, and reviewed it with the Prophet Muhammad (saws). Moreover the Prophet Muhammad (saws) reviewed the Qur'an with the Angel Gabriel once each year and twice in the last year of his life. From the time the Qur'an was revealed, until this day there has been a large number of Muslims who have memorised all of the Qur'an letter by letter, Some of them have been able to memorise all of the Qur'an by the age of ten. Not one letter of the Qur'an has been changed over the centuries. The Qur'an, which was revealed fourteen centuries ago, mentions facts only recently discovered or proven by scientists. This proves without doubt that the Qur'an must be the literal word of God, revealed by Him to the Prophet Muhammad (saws) and that the Qur'an was not authored by Muhammad (saws) or by any other human being. This also proves that Muhammad (saws) is truly a Prophet sent by God. It is beyond reason that anyone fourteen hundred years ago would have known these facts discovered or proven recently with advanced equipment and sophisticated Scientific methods. Some examples follow. The Qur'an on Human Embryonic Development: In the Qur'an Allah (swt) says "We created man from an extract of clay. Then We made him as a drop in a place of settlement, firmly fixed. Then we made the drop into an alaqah [Leech, suspended thing, or blood clot] then we made the alaqah into a mudghah [Chewed substance]" [Qur'an 23:12-14] Comparing the embryo to a leech using the word Alaqah is accurate as at the stage in question the embryo looks similar to a leech [as pictured below] and it also receives it's nourishment from the blood of it's mother. ![]() Using the word Alaqah again to say the embryo is suspended within the womb, due to it's size at this stage. It's attached to the side by the umbilical cord but otherwise it's just hanging and leaning on nothing. Again for the sake of clarity, pictured below. ![]() Now, the word Alaqah also compares our embryo to a blood clot. Why is that? Well, the embryo will not have any circulation until about three weeks into the pregnancy. And also have large amounts of blood flowing to it, making the embryo at this stage appearing similar to a blood clot, externally. ![]() Next in that verse from the Qur'an comes the word mudghah which translated to "chewed substance". If one was to take a piece of gum and chew it to leave teeth marks down the side it would look as the developing spine, of the embryo does, chewed. The picture below will display the resemblance of the embryo's somites with chew marks. A piece of gum being used as it easy retains teeth marks and can be molded. ![]() In 1677 using a microscope Antonie van Leeuwenhoek, also known as the father of microbiology, became the first person on Earth to observe human sperm cells. It was mistakenly believed that the sperm cell contained a miniature human that grew when deposited in a female [kind of like on Family Guy]. Later Professor Emeritus Keith L. Moore, one of the world's most noted scientists of anatomy and embryology wrote the book Developing the Human. In 1981 at a conference in Dammam, Saudi Arabia Moore stated "It has been with great pleasure for me to help clarify statements in the Qur'an about human development. It is clear to me that these statement must have come to Muhammad from God, because almost all of this knowledge was not discovered until many centuries later. This proves to me that Muhammad must have been a messenger from God" Following this statement professor Moore was asked Does this mean that you believe that the Qur'an is the word of God? to which he replied "I have no difficulty in accepting this." During a following conference Professor Moore said that "...Because the staging of human embryos is complex, owing to the continuous process of changing during development, it is proposed that a new system of classification could be developed using the terms mentioned in the Qur'an and Sunnah [actions, words or condolences of the Prophet Muhammad (saws)]. The proposed system is simple, comprehensive and conforms with present embryonical knowledge. The intensive studies of the Qur'an and Hadith [reliably transmitted reports by the Prophet's (saws) companions on what he said, did or approved] in the last four years have revealed a system for classifying human embryos that is amazing since it was recorded in the seventh century A.D. Although Aristotle, the founder of the science of embryology, realised that chick embryos developed in stages from his studies of hen's eggs in the fourth century B.C. he did not give any details about these stages. As far as it is known fro the history of embryology, little was known about the staging and classification of human embryos until the twentieth century. For this reason, the descriptions of the human embryo in the Qur'an cannot be based on scientific knowledge in the seventh century. The only reasonable conclusion is: these descriptions were revealed to Muhammad (saws) from God. He could not have known such details because he was an illiterate man with absolutely no scientific training." The Qur'an on the origin of the universe: There's no question that Allah [swt] was our creator. He created the universe. And I know a lot of people who don't believe in Allah [swt] will not just sit back and accept that so let me explain this in a lot more detail. Science has told us that at one time the universe was nothing but a cloud of 'smoke' [ being an opaque, dense gaseous composition]. This stands a unanimous hypothesis among modern cosmologists. Also, it's now being observed that new stars are still being formed out of this 'smoke'. "Then he turned to the heaven and it was smoke..." [Qur'an 41:11] Because the Earth and what we see in the sky has originated fro the same smoke, and we believe that once upon a time they were all one interconnected entity, until withing the homogeneous 'smoke' they formed and broke away from each other. Allah [swt] says in the Qur'an "Have not those who disbelieved known that the heavens and the Earth were one connected entity, then We separated them?..." [Qur'an 21:30] A world renowned Geologist, the chairman of the Department of Geology at the institute of Geosciences, Johannes Gutenburg University, Mainz, Germany, Mr Alfred Kroner has said "Thinking where Muhammad (saws) came from...I think it's impossible that he could have known about things like the common origin of the universe, because scientist have only found out within the last few years, with very complicated and advanced technological methods, that this is the case" and "Somebody who did not know something about nuclear physics fourteen hundred years ago could not, I think, be in a position to find out from his own mind, for instance that the Earth and heavens [as in outer space] had the same origin" Below, again for the sake of clarity I have included a picture of a new star forming. :) ![]() Note that it is forming out of a cloud of gas and dust, which resembles the 'smoke' that was the origin of the whole universe. According not only to the Qur'an but also modern cosmology! New stars shed light on the past A new image from the Hubble Space Telescope shows N90, one of the star-forming regions in the Small Magellanic Cloud. The rich populations of infant stars found here enable astronomers to examine star forming processes in an environment that is very different from that in our own Milky Way. [click for source of image and blurb...] The Qur'an on the Cerebrum: Allah [swt] said about a disbelieve who tried to forbid the Prophet Muhammad (saws) from praying at the Ka'aba in the Qur'an "No! If he does not stop We will take him by the naseyah [front of the head], a lying, sinful naseyah!" [Qur'an 96:15-16] The Qur'an specifically pointed out that the front of this man's head was lying and sinful instead of the man himself for a reason [There is a reason behind everything in the Holy Qur'an. Alhamdulillah.] The Cerebrum, which is in the prefrontal area of the brain [pictured below] is the area that is responsible for our planning and motivating. This has only been known and proven by science within the last sixty years, again the Qur'an had this fact written in the fourteenth century. ![]() I could go on with any more Scientific miracles, but I will just mention a few more and leave you all to frolic and find out about these for yourself. But also they can be found in I. A. Ibrahim's book A brief illustrated guide to Understanding Islam. Please not that I didn't copy it word for word, but have used it to help with this post. ^_^ :: The Qur'an on Clouds. :: The Qur'an on Mountains. :: The Qur'an on Seas and Rivers.
