Alex whistled at what he saw. 'That was more than I expected.' The fires played across the top of several buildings in the distance, their wooden superstructures and thatched roofs little more than fuel for an inferno. 'Good for business at least.' The man sighed as people about him panicked the instinctual fear of fire rising in their gullets as it threatened the town.

Alex smiled as he flipped open his book and drew out a diagram, he waited and watched as the fire in the distance moved and desperate people moved to attempt to extinguish the inferno.

'Damn, I do not have a chair.' The blond ran an unoccupied hand through his still damp locks, brushing them back out of his eyes so that he could gaze in awe at the destruction he had created.

Naomi closed her eyes, and tried to sleep. It soon became apparent, however, that the panicked screams of the townsfolk would make this an impossible task. Again, she wondered how the hell Max managed to sleep. And Lukas, while she was at it. The lycan again looked down at the wet wolf on the floor.

"Poor bastard," she muttered to herself.

Alex sighed as he weight the moral difficulties that had presented themselves. He could extinguish the flames now, with minimal damage. Or let them burn, and hope that all went well.

"Well, I suppose if I am a hero I can hike my prices..." Alex smiled as he made his choice; sprinting off towards the raging inferno as people fled around him, shouting and bellowing over the tumble of the crowd to clear a path.

The streets of the city began to fill as desperate and panicky people formed great throngs that choked the streets, blocking and slowing his path.

The man couldn't help but gaze in bewilderment, he had meant to destroy a post not light the entire city ablaze, but these things happened he supposed. Well to him at least...

Naomi sighed, and sat back up. It was very obvious that she would not find peace until the city was extinguished. Irritably, she got out of bed; this would mean she'd have to go out in public with her new outfit. Naomi hastily exited the room, letting the door slam behind her, and left the inn.

Once she got outside, however, her jaw dropped. Blankly, she stared at the fire and the hysteria. She had intended to help, but what could she do? The fires had gotten out of control, very quickly, and the people were too panicked for reason.

'Damn, this is a pain.' Alex spat as he deftly pushed through the crowd shouting and barking demands to the mob of people desperately pushing into the streets.

"MOVE ASIDE!" Alex forced his elbow into the face of a large burly man as he exited the surging tide of flesh into a back alley.

Rushing desperately through the trash strewn corridor the blond's feet noisily thudded on the cobblestone. 'Damn, damn, damn!'

Alex's emerald eyes gazed in awe as he turned the final corner of the alley. The towering inferno danced, its heat flowing in waves and distorting the open air. The cloaked man's knees gave way as he gazed at what he had wrought.

Tears fell from the man's emerald eyes as he hung his head is sorrow...

Naomi sighed and shook her head slowly, before she started to run. Anyone who got in her way was forcibly pushed aside. Many were left lying stunned on the ground in her wake.

She only stopped when she came upon a residential area that had caught aflame. The fire had just made it there, but it was spreading quickly. Earsplitting screams were heard over the crackling fire, and burning flesh stank up the air, while smoke thickened it. People were evacuating their houses, but some were not moving quickly enough.

One house in particular stood out to her; the door was on fire, and flames could be seen blocking the front window from the inside. Her keen ears picked up two particular sounds in the house; that of a cat mewing, and that of a small child crying and coughing.

"Fuck," Naomi said, before coughing herself.

She ran towards the house, and after bracing herself, jumped in through the window.

"So horrible...so beautiful." Alexander laughed madly before throwing his head back in the glint of the inferno, his eyes quivering as they painted patterns in the madness.

Lowering his head the blond smiled as he struggled to kneel on one knee. Pulling forth the black leather book, his eyes contorted as they stared at the shining leather. No thoughts passed through the man's mind as he tore open the book, his breathe becoming increasingly ragged in the soot choked air.

Pausing, the man stood to his feet; eyes with insane determination. Extending his left arm up and forward with the book, the blond spoke some incomprehensible word and the book shone with an unearthly blue-black light, the streams twisting in air and knitting into a sickly purple color.

"Die." The words echoed over the roar of the flames as the blue-black light lashed towards the hellish flames snuffing them out with the force of pure Alchemical death.

Alex smiled as the book in his hand distorted and shifted to dust in his hand, the pages being drawn into and feeding the horrid magic snuffing the flames...

Naomi coughed horribly as she shielded her eyes and peered around the smoky building. The child she had heard had stopped crying, which wasn't a good sign. after stumbling around, she tripped over a small form on the floor, and heard a quiet meow.

There lay the body of a child, who looked to be four or five years of age. Wrapped in his arms was a kitten, who mewed piteously. Through the smoke, Naomi couldn't tell if the boy were breathing or not.

"Bloody Hell," she said quietly, as she picked up the boy and the kitten, cradling one in each arm.

The lycan ran back to the entrance, and hurled herself through the window, twisting her body so that she would land on her back and not on her rescued victims. As she lay breathing heavily on the ground, she heard the crackling of flames suddenly stop.

Blue-black light played across the stones of buildings the town, leaping through the air and smothering the inferno, and any normal flame that happened to be in their way.

The screeching of reality tearing and rending danced after the horrid light as it wound it way through the town, stunned people falling to the ground desperate to avoid the energy as the reaction 'murdered' the very fire that threatened to consume the city.

The stench of ozone and soot hung heavily as the last of the embers vanished in the hissing crackle of the blackness.

"I do not know which one was more fun." Alex giggled insanely as he laid on the ground, watching the heavy soot cloud vanish lazily into the sky as the city fell dark. The fire lights extinguished by the enormity of the reaction used.

"Ow..." The emerald eyed man coughed as he lay silently on the ash covered cobblestone of the alley, waiting for the stars to come into view beyond the ash storm.

Naomi rose awkwardly, refusing to drop the unconscious child or the little furry creature in either arm. When she finally stood, she waited for the ecstatic cries of the grateful parents. And she waited for several minutes until, with a sinking feeling, she realized the sounds were probably never coming.

To be sure, she walked over to the window of the house, and looked inside. Gagging, she reeled back instantly. The stench of burning flesh was strong in the house, and near the entrance of a scorched room, a smoldering human arm lay stretched out the doorway. The parents had not made it out. There would be no happy reunion.

Choking back the urge to vomit, Naomi turned and walked, carrying the ruined lives in her arms. She followed her nose, until through the smoke and the dying panic she found Alex.

"What the Hell did you do?" she said angrily, fighting her desire to kick him while he was on the ground, "And you fucking preached to me about consequences?!"
