"A hug? No, thanks," Naomi said quickly, the suggestion bothering her.

Hugs were reserved for family and close friends. Very, very close friends. And she felt the overwhelming desire to get that point across. So Naomi scooted away from him on the church step, effectively placing her rear directly in the small puddle of her own blood. She pretended not to notice.

"it's just to get warm, but i suppose if you want to freeze thats okay." he said without moving, even when the doors to the church opened Azubah stayed in his position he tired to care if it was another attack. "Great... more trouble no doubt." he said looking slightly towards the opened doors.

"Naomi would you like me to hug you then you won't be hugging back and you'll get warm." he shrugged and sat up looking between the open doors, the blood Naomi was sitting in and Naomi herself.

A smile crawled onto the old mans lips as he moved out the front door and glanced at the youths on the sidewalk. "Well are you all coming in or not?" He asked quizzically before turning back into the building drawing his robes closer about his body to push back the cold.

"Yes, sir," Naomi replied hastily, not wanting to dignify Azubah's question with a response. She ran into the Northern Bastion as quickly as her wounds would allow her, leaving the boy on the steps.

Once she was in, she stopped in her tracks to stare in awe at the stained glass. She hadn't seen windows like these in years, and never this big. Naomi regretted deeply that she hadn't come inside earlier; she imagined that they were truly a sight to behold with the sun shining through.

Azubah took his sweet old time getting up and then hunched over slightly he walked into the church and stopped short, behind Naomi. "You've never seen the inside of a church before?" he asked her amusement in his voice, his tone even hinted at teasing as well for some reason.

"So I suppose you are the two Alex wanted to meet here. Well he is busy but asked me to give you this." The elderly man sighed before pushing the envelope towards the young woman, the thick wrapped parchment bound with a seal of red wax. Usually a sign of dire portents...

The man moved away towards the pews as he waited for the woman and her companion to read the note.

"Thank you, sir," Naomi replied, not bothering to mention that Azubah was not meant to be here with her. She sat down in the nearest pew and carefully opened the envelope, pulling the parchment out with a deep feeling of foreboding.

"Maybe this would be less threatening to me if I had stayed behind long enough to finish my lessons in reading," the girl thought, cursing herself for her hasty escape from her family. Her eyes ran over the parchment.

Azubah turned towards Naomi, after she had sat down he leaped over behind her. And began reading the letter over her shoulder, actually his face was next to hers almost even oddly. "Whatcha reading?" he asked in a childish voice, he placed his hands on his knees to keep himself balanced in the position he had taken.

'To who it may concern...

I have some bad news, our ticket out has been revoked as part of a city wide lock-down. The good news is I, Max, Lukas, and Naomi have not been implicated, Cain...well good luck. I took the proactive approach and have a room reserved for Naomi at the 'Ashen Fold' across town from North Bastion, should be right off main street or so.

If you see Max tell him I intend to gut him and make a coat out of his fur...again.'

The letter ended with little fan fair before the elderly man looked at the two sympathetically. "I don't suppose he reserved a room for the both you?" He stated rather flatly, already knowing the answer.

"Well I wish you good luck young master Cain, you will need it." The man drug his gray eyes to Azu, not knowing the difference between him and Cain, not that Alex had bothered to tell him...

"This isn't Cain," Naomi replied, smiling gently at the older man, "He might be coming by later. If you see him, however, could you please deliver to him the message that he's on his own?"

She considered giving the old man the letter to give to Cain, but decided against it. Naomi didn't want the vampire to know where she was going to be sleeping tonight. It would only mean trouble.

Naomi then turned to Azubah, and gave him a little bow.

"Unfortunately, here is where we part. Thank you for your assistance, but I really don't want anyone tagging along with me, and I would really like a room to myself. Forgive me for my selfishness."
