Rose Petals

 A girl walked alone down the stony street, the moonlight making her white hair seem to glow. Rose petals scattered on the ground where she walked; she had been trying to peddle her precious flowers all day, and they were beginning to wilt and die.

With a sigh, she turned around. It was time to head home for the night.

That's when the first stone was thrown. One of the neighborhood drunkards had caught sight of her, with her white hair and red eyes. The stone, which was hardly more than a pebble, hit the flower basket and fell harmlessly to the ground.

 Rayne had mostly recovered, from the last few stab wounds. Though he was sent to Kialis to try and help the humans win their battle. He saw it too was mostly over, stopping in his tracks he hunched over.

Sniffing at the air, "That's a familiar scent..." he said under his breathe and began to follow it. He knew it from somewhere but he couldn't figure it out yet.

 The next stone thrown was a bit larger, and hit the girl in the shoulder. Turning away from the man, she used her arm to cover her face. More people were joining the drunk, thinking perhaps that she was a vampire or a witch of some kind. More stones were thrown, most hitting her arm and side.

 Rayne continued to sniff at the air, and eventually found himself on his hands and feet following the scent in the air. "What the heck..." he said and ran down the alleyway towards the scent looking around he noticed some drunk like people in his way and rather than being polite he bowled them over and ran straight to the source of the smell sitting in front of the girl.

 Noticing that the hail of rocks stopped, the girl tentatively lowered her arm to see that the men who were hurting her had been knocked down. It took her a long moment before she realized that Rayne was in front of her. She looked down and jumped back an inch or two, startled.

"Um, h-hello," she stuttered. Not knowing what else to do, she grabbed a rose from her basket and offered it to Rayne.

 Rayne took it with his mouth, acting as an animal. He scooted closer to her and began to talk with the rose in his mouth, "You smell familiar. Do I know you? What's your name?" he asked her scooting closer and closer to her.

 As Rayne scooted towards her, she backed further away.

"My name's Vivian Fisher," she said nervously, looking down at him, "Please don't hurt me. Whatever I did, I'm sorry."

 "You smell like someone I know...Like...Gypsy!" he said scooting after her, instantly he liked her perhaps a bit to much all the same he did. "You didn't do anything wrong." he said tilting his head slightly and staring at Vivian.

 "If I didn't do anything wrong, then why were they throwing rocks at me? I must have done something bad," Vivian said, convinced that she somehow deserved punishment. She continued backing away, until she was backed up against a stone wall.

 "I dunno..." he said looking behind him briefly, then looking back at Vivian and staring at her looking her over he began to sniff at her scooting up to the point that his face was almost planted to her stomach.
