Board Rules No matter what cause you have, what reason you wish to give, or if you think it "should" be allowed -- the Rules are still THE RULES. You are not allowed to go against them for any reason, and not having any regard for them is a quick way to suspensions or being banned. Also, violations are tied to your account. Most punishments will be treated as such regardless of who uses it (except for rare occasions). The Rules Govern This Board. Ignorance is NOT an Excuse. With that said, I'll go over the warning system and punishments for The Modstation. The Warning System: Moderators can and will keep track of any infractions to the rules you make. You will be warned for any misconduct that grants it. 10 warnings will get you suspended (for a time deemed appropriate by the Administrator). A PM will be sent telling you why the warning occured. On some infractions, your account may have posting rights immediately removed for a short duration. The maximun count of the warning system is currently 10. The standard punishment for reaching the maximum count is a 10-day suspension, though the Administrator may decide on a different course of action.. Warnings will be cleared after some time. The duration is determined by the administrator, and is generally based on if you appear to have a better intention concerning the rules. They might be cleared quickly if the situation is resolved shortly after the warning is given. Your warning count will be reduced by ONE after serving a suspension, etc. If you are warned again, it will be treated as though you are reaching the maximum count yet again. This is an effort to reduce habitual rule-breaking. Leniency may be granted at the Administrator's discretion. Some situations may cause your warning status to be raised by more than one. In such instances, you will be notified in the PM sent. Punishments: Warnings - A count of Notable Rule Violations. If it is a minor violation or one that has sufficient reason (by mod discretion), you will likely only receive a comment from the moderator directing you to stop. If the violation is considered a "warnable offense", your count will be increased accordingly. Moderator Preview - You may be set to moderator preview if it is decided that your post content should be moderated. This may be granted at any time the Administrator deems appropriate. When on Mod Preview, a moderator must approve your post before it will be visible to the general membership. The post will retain the order and time it was originally made in the topic (if and when it's approved). Suspension - A removal of public posting rights. Suspensions are generally given in serious circumstances or severe/habitual rule violations. You may still use the PM system upon suspension (unless you have lost that privilege in abusing it). The duration of a suspension is generally determined by the Administrator, but the standard is 10 days. Banning - This is reserved for the largest rule violations and members who are considered to be "attacking" or "disrupting" the board. When a ban is issued, all membership rights are revoked, the IP is banned and email address blocked. The Administrator is the only one who may issue a ban, and does so only when he feels it is necessary. And don't even ASK him to ban someone, as you'll likely just be added to the list of people he wants to bludgeon with a ball-peen hammer. Emergency and Administrative Actions: Moderators may perform "emergency actions" using their warning panel to handle situations that seem out of hand. This may range from temporary suspensions to moderator preview. This power is so that if a hostile spammer or other such poster is causing trouble, they can shut them down until the Administrator can judge the situation. The Administrator himself may issue an "Administrative Action" at any time, and can be any sort of improvisational rule or punishment he deems appropriate for handling the odd situations that arise. This is mostly for problems that are considered rather uncommon, and generally only involve specific members or forums. Now, onto the rules. You need to register an account before seeing the majority of the board. This is so we can keep track of members and hopefully promote activity. Don't start flame wars or fuel their fire. No need to be an asshole, some people deserve some harsh words, but this rule pertains to randomly attacking people or the board. Keep it in your pants. No illegal software, warez, or rom links. This is probably one of the most enforced rules we have here at the NMM because if any of the Zetaboards administrators are policing their forums (such as ours) and comes across anything illegal (such as ROMs), we could be shut done for good. Don't do it. No porn, nudity or offensive material. This includes dead people, bloody things or really ugly pussies. All jokes aside, you should understand this one pretty easily. No stealing. If you are caught stealing textures for your mods, you will be immediately banned. If templates are used, be sure to credit that person. Also, no posting mods not created by you. If you post mods created by someone else, and are caught, IP ban. No exceptions. No multiple user accounts. If you are caught using using multiple accounts, your IP will be banned. Finally, use a real email account for your registration. If not, you can not register. Trolling, and the "asshole rule" If you're a member here, no matter what group, if you troll and put down the board or put down it's members you will be banned. No exceptions. You will not be warned, you won't be kindly asked to stop, you're considered expendable and will be banned, so don't post something stupid. Please don“t bother Admins with requests for mods, hacks, help, ect..There is a request topic for this sort of thing. If an admin wants to fulfill it, they can do so on their own accord. Nothing released exclusively on this site is to be released at other boards without exact and precise permission of the Original Author. This goes without saying, please respect the modder and his (or her's) work. |
