The board ava limit is set at 200x200. The file size for avatars should be at or around 300k. We want to try and keep things friendly for those on dial up or DSL. With sigs, all I ask is that you try and keep the filesize down, and don't use anything too big. I won't set limits, but anything obnoxious or around...300x600 will be removed. Image Hosting, Size, and Thumbnails - The maximum allowed image sizes is 800x600. This prevents page stretching, and is the maximum allowed image that can be posted inside the board. If you wish to post larger images, use a thumbnail link. Thumbnails to the images will work exceptionally well. It should satisfy your needs if you have a lot of images to post. If you don't have a good offsite image host, I'd recommend Photobucket. They are a great site for hosting images, but may require a bit more effort to make a thumbnail link. The thumbnail images are the same URL as the original image, but have a "th_" prefix in their filename. You can use the Posting Help topic for information to set up the bbcode for a photobucket thumbnail. If you prefer a more "quick and easy" BBcode... then Image Shack can be a decent image host as well. The tend to have a bit of advertisement though, and have generally had a few more problems with downtime. However, I do believe they allow a bit larger images. Either of those two services mentioned should suit your needs. Don't even TRY to get around image restriction by double or triple posting. If the creator of the topic has "Warning: Media Intensive Thread." as their topic description, you may post images without FILESIZE restriction. The other forum rules regarding content and image size still Apply. |
