Biography
Spoiler: click to toggle Once upon a time, there was the Fukamachi clan which was large and prosperous. They were a peaceful clan which lived peacefully growing fruits and vegetable to be distributed across the many different countries. This clans success was widely due to their special gift, The Juuten Herusu (Hand Mouth) which could be used to extract the life force out of all sorts of earthly organics. However, it is because of the Juuten Herusu that the clan was mostly shunned by Villages who only cared about the product and not the people who supplied it.
A group of extremist were formed, a band of people who believed the Juuten Herusu to be a gift from ancient demons long forgotten by time. It started out as harassment but when a small plaque fell upon the village people and began killing their children the blame was immediately directed towards the Fukamachi clan. So, in an attempt to save their children the extremist attacked the farm. No one was safe at the farm, not even the younglings, it was a massacre based on fear.
Near the end of the conflict, the few remaining members of the Fukamachi Clan were hiding inside of the main home of Fukamachi, Goto, the leader of the clan. The extremist attempted to set the house on fire but were stopped by a passing stranger. This stranger was Makishima, Tetsuro the Traveling Swordsman. The young man was out numbered but his skill with his katana far surpassed the collected abilities of the extremist and Tetsuro managed to fight off the mad mob by causing a retreat.
Tetsuro had come to the Land of Wind to find the miracle farm of the desert, and was disappointed to see that it was destroyed. He swore to help rebuild it, placing some of the blame on himself for not showing up earlier. It took several months to rebuild and over that time the extremist attempted several more atttacks on the farm, each time foiled by Tetsuro. By the time the farm was rebuilt there were only five members of the clan remaining. However, amongst all the pain and chaos a love developed between Tetsuro and the daughter of Goto, Fukamachi, Mizuki.
The two were married after the first harvest of the new farm, and the torch of leadership was passed from Goto to Tetsuro who adopted the name Fukamachi as his own. Goto shortly afterwards died of natural caused leaving only four original members of the Fukamachi clan and their new leader, Fukamachi, Tetsuro. Nine months after their wedding, Mizuki gave birth to their first child, Fukamachi, Shinichi..
Childhood
Spoiler: click to toggle From the beginning Fukamachi, Shinichis' life was going to be different. He was the son of a swordsman and his father would not have him become a farmer like the rest of his family. He wanted some one to inherit his Kenjutsu style and use it for the good of mankind. The remaining members of the Fukamachi clan disagreed with his intentions but being the boys father he had every right to choose his own sons path.
Beginning at the young age of five, Shinichi began to train his body and mind for the future life of being a Swordsman. Tetsuro believed Shinichi could become a better swordsman than himself because of the Fukamachi's special gift, the Juuten Herusu, which gave them the ability to work longer hours in a day. Despite his training, Shinichi was still allowed to help around the farm to build up his physical strength but it also helped him develop a love for life.
As Shinichi grew older his father began to teach him philosophy, and what the duty of a swordman should be opposed to what it is mostly used for. Shinichi was tought that the art of the sword was no of war but of protection. Tetsuro for his entire life used his sword to protect the innocent and it was his every intention to have Shinichi do the same. So because of this training Shinichi had a strict childhood, but his mother would not have her child grow up without any friends.
Mizuki made sure Shinichi got time to play with other children, so he can develope bonds. She taught him the importance of making healthy and reliable friends. While playing games Shinichi learned other important lessons such as team work and understanding for others feelings. These were strong characteristics that Tetsuro and Mizuki both approved of. So, when Shinichi was finally old enough, they decided that in order for Shinichi to become even stronger he should be entered into the Ninja Academy. At this point, Shinichi had no objections, he had every intention of being something more than a farmer, and his father was simply giving him the means to be something greater than what he would have been as a farmer.
Academy
Spoiler: click to toggle The Academy was an completely different crowd from the farm. Each classmate had at least two family members who were Shinobi and had tons of advice passed down from generation to generation attempting to perfect their families art of the ninja. However, for Shinichi, he was the first Fukamachi ever to become a ninja. However, despite being at that disadvantage the discipline he gained from his father and social skills from his mother gave him the ability to fit in with the rest of the students.
Like most students, Shinichi buckled down and studied the three basic ninja arts. Ninjutsu, Genjutsu, and Taijutsu were reviewed, studied and learned every night. He learned the basic handseals for making a clone, memorized ways to tell if your under the effects of a genjutsu and practised various yet basic taijutsu moves. With the help of his father and instructors Shinichi was able to discover his elemental affinity, which turned out to be a rare one, Wind. It was then that Shinichi began to become creative with learning and decided to try to create his own jutsu.
It took two years of training and learning how to channel chakra through out his body until he finally began to create his own unique jutsu. The wind technique Shinichi successfully learned was Kaze Genkotsu and from their he managed to create an even more difficult technique which was Kaze Kireme. Later on, near the end of his time in the academy, Shinichi created another technique called Kaze Shi-rudo.
By accomplishing such a high standard during the academy he impressed the bulk of instructors which made his father Tetsuro proud. When the final exams came to become a genin there was no doubt that Shinichi would pass but he had to take the test for customs sake. Shinichi performed the required tasks and was immediately handed his Ninja Head Band which signified that he was now a ninja of Sunakagure, Village Hidden in the Sand.
After graduation his father paid his respects to his sons achievements and rewarded him with a great rarity; the wakazashi of the forest spirit, Ichi te Shinzui (One Hand Spirit). It was the greatest gift the leader of the Fukamachi clan could give to any member of the clan. This was the very sword given to the first farmer who made the deal with the Forest Spirit Hayashi. Ichi Te Shinzui was now Shinichi's to wield and he swore never to lose it or abuse it. Upon becoming a genin Shinichi vowed to protect the weak and defenseless with Ichi Te Shinzui by his side.
Genin
Spoiler: click to toggle At first Shinichi was worried when he wasn't placed into a team right away. Due to a mix up with team arrangements their seemed to be an odd amount of Genin and Shinichi ended up without a team. He was given orders to sit tight until a team could be found for him to be placed in. Shinichi knew it would be a matter of time before a team was selected so he agreed to wait until a team could be found.
Shinichi took this opportunity to meditate on what he wanted to accomplish. He wanted to protect the people and the only way he could do that was if he became stronger. He decided that when he became a high enough rank, he would request if he could go on a journey across the countries to seek out masters of Kenjutsu and learn from them their arts. After that he would return to the village and continue on trying to advance in rank. He had no interest in becoming kage, he just wanted to be out on the field protecting the people.
Shinichi often took trips back to the farm to train with his father, the journey was considered dangerous especially if you traveled alone so Shinichi usually traveled with merchants. However, Shinichi decided to take a trip home on his own believing he had nothing to fear out in the desert. However, during his lonesome journey he met up with a man simply known as Tien who wielded a large sword. It was unclear on what this mans intentions were for being out in the desert so Shinichi thought it would be worth tagging along with him.
Later it was discovered that Tien was seeking revenge against a group of bandits which raided his home which killed off his family. This group of bandits ambushed them from the cliffs near by and attempted to kill them leaving Shinichi no choice but to fight. Both Shinichi and Tien thought bravely but when Shinichi had a chance to kill one of the bandits he hesitated to take the mans life forcing Tien to move in and save his life at the cost of his own.
Shinichi realized that Tien died because of his inability to kill and in order to save his own life he had to do the unthinkable. Shinichi thought off the bandits, mortally wounded the bulk of them into retreat. However, their leader, who was a tamer of wild beasts, refused to run from a genin. Shinichi and the beast tamer clashed swords but Shinichi proved to be more of a match than he bargained for when the young Shinobi began using jutsu to help win the fight.
The Beast tamer summoned a large bird and attempted to fly away to escape but Shinichi would not allow such an evil man to run away. So, he took hold of Tien's sword and used Kaze Janpu to launch himself into the sky after him. Shinichi spun like a buzz saw and used a combination of several techniques to slice both the beast tamer and the bird in half vertically. This was the first person Shinichi had ever killed, and it would be a moment he never forgot.
Shinichi burried the fallen Swordsman Tien and left a marker for others to see. At that moment Shinichi swore to use Tiens sword for good, and master how to use it. He swore upon the grave of tien and swore to Tiens destroyed village and murdered family that he would fight against such injustice in the world for the sake of the innocent.
After his trip to the family farm, Shinichi was finally assigned to a team, his team mated being Ryu Deshi and Hideki Chiyoko. With the help of their squad leader, who was a strange felinish jounin, they formed a strong bond with each other. They each had their own encounters with near death experiences and because of this each member was strong, especially when they worked together.
The team mostly trained together to hone their skills, and performed the occasional D or C rank mission but soon it became apparent that they were all ready to move on to the next level, Chuunin. Each member was entered into the Chuunin exam by their sensai and at that point they each swore to try their hardest to pass.
The Chuunin exams first match proved to be difficult, but luckily Shinichi was paired with one of his teammates, Ryu Deshi. This made team work incredibly easier for the two genin. The task laid before them was a cliff that they had to climb, the catch was that they had to make it up without being knocked down by the proctor. However, with team work and hours upon hours of practice Shinichi and Ryu managed to both reach the top of the cliff and move on to the next round.
Round 2 Shinichi was pinned against another Genin which had special ice abilities. It was in this battle that Shinichi integrated what he learned from his sparring matches with Chiyoko. He was carefully about his actions and despite the hopelessness of the situation Shinichi managed to stay optimistic and come on victorious over this unique opponent. Shinichi earned his right to go on to the next match, yet another interesting event.
In this match Shinichi was pinned against two other genin in a free for all match on a pillar full of exploded tags that blew up every ten seconds. As radical as this match sounded, it was true. Shinichi played it easy in this match at first, letting the other two genin do most of the work until finally shinichi took the opportunity and took out one of the two. Afterwards, however, the cliff collapsed and the remaining genin were nearly smashed but they weren't so their battle continued. His opponent yet again was very skilled, and had unique abilities. Shinichi thought to the end until finally there was a victor, Shinichi, but there was no time to celebrate for his next match had just begun against the survivor of the second tower.
The battle was fierce, Shinichi found himself pinned against a crafty Shinobi with completely different tactics. At this point Shinichi felt rushed to finish the fight and instead of being careful in the battle he ended up being careless. He ultimately lost this fight but came out of it with the respectful title of second place, and much to his surprise he had been granted Chuunin rank. It was now time for Shinichi to ascend past his current capabilities and become worthy of his new title.
Chuunin Arc:
Spoiler: click to toggle Shinichi passed the Chuunin exam which was now his greatest achievement. Upon reaching Chuunin his father made a request that he join him at the farm for advanced training in Kenjutsu. His father was going to help him develop new techniques and new jutsu's to increase his combat effectiveness. This training would take a couple of months but Shinichi was more than willing to become stronger. Shinichi's life as a genin had ended and now he was about to begin his journey as a Chuunin. He will study the other countries, conduct studies on how criminals think, and train to become a stronger shinobi.
During his time training with his father he heard rumors of a genin who witnessed a murder by a man named Digo. Shinichi debated with his father about going or not and in the end he was given permission to leave his training to go assist the genin in his hunt for Digo. It would be the first criminal Shinichi would ever have to capture alive.
The Genin's name was Horenzo and together they were able to track down the murderer swordsman. Digo was hidden within the mountains near by Sunakagure and had a trap waiting for them. Horenzo, for a genin, skillfully took the necessary precautions and revealed Digos' trap which lead to a confrontation. The battle lasted several epic moments but in the end the two Shinobi overwhelmed Digo and managed to knock him out. It was the first criminal Shinichi ever captured and he would never forget it.
Shortly after turning in Digo to Anbu, Shinichi returned to the Fukamachi farm to tell of his adventure to his father. However, when he arrived he found that the farm and its workers were slaughtered. The only remaining person in the farm was his father who told Shinichi what happened with his dieing breath. A group of bandits and a rogue ninja attacked the farm, kidnapped his pregnant mother, and killed everyone before Tetsuro had a chance to get to his sword. A note was left for Shinichi to meet the bandits at the border between The land Of Wind and the land of fire.
Shinichi swore to save his mother and take revenge for his fathers death. The journey was long and Shinichi faced several opponents along the way. One was an axe murderer who held a woman hostage to gain an advantage over Shinichi. He orders Shinichi to discard his swords, which he did. The axe murderer attempted to kill Shinichi but failed in his hasty efforts. In the end Shinichi was forced to kill the mad man.
Two others faced off against Shinichi in an other village along the way to border. One was an accomplice to Digo, and the other was a con artist. Together the fooled the little village into believing Shinichi was bad guy. It took Shinichi awhile to convince he village otherwise and when he did Digo's accomplice and the con artist attempted to kill him. Needless to say Shinichi once again triumphed over these low ranking criminals and with the aid of the villagers captured them both.
Finally Shinichi made it to the borders. There were two hostages, Shinichis mother, and another ninja named Mai. The person leading this group was a C rank rogue ninja named Tairaa who managed to rally a large group of criminals to aid him. Shinichi meet up with konoha genin, Nikorasu Banaado, who aided him in defeating the criminals and the rogue genin. Other than a few bruises and cuts, both hostages were fine.
Shinichi and his mother decided it be best to sell the farm. However, the money from the farm would only last them so long. Shinichi convinced his mother to open a restaurant in Sunakagure. She agreed with Shinichi, in that they needed to get their minds off what happened at the farm, and they bought the apartment building Shinichi used to live in before moving back to the farm.
They opened the restaurant and called it the Fukamachi Smörgåsbord. It was an all you can eat buffet and it offered a variety of healthy foods. The Fukamachi Smörgåsbord was only the first floor of the three story building. The second floor was converted into a living area for Shinichi and his mother while the third floor was made into a dojo for Shinichi to train in. They alone were the only survivors of what happened on the farm, but they had to make due with what they had to carry on.
Iwakagure: Chuunin Sub-Arc:
Spoiler: click to toggle Upon returning from his journey to the borders of Konoha, Shinchi enlisted for a top secret mission to the hidden village Iwakagure. His mission was to gather various bits of information on the village in case if a war broke out between the two villages. Shinichi knew the risks of this mission and dawned the name Mashi Fukachi, traveling Author, to sneak into Iwakagure and steal precious, valuable, information from their records.
Shinichi was placed in charge of a genin, Feroco, Horenzo, the same genin Shinichi teamed up with against the mercenary swordsman Digo. Together they managed to get by Iwakagure customs and blend themselves in with the people. It was inside that they split their paths to uncover their own information on Iwakagure. Shinichi had faith in Horenzo's abilities and knew the young ninja would do fine on his own.
Shinichi began his research by discovering the escape routes and evacuation plans Iwakagure has. He did this by tricking a ninja guard into bringing out his map and showing Shinichi how to get to a good hotel. Shinichi 'accidenlty' took a snap shot of the map and immediately had what he wanted. Shinichi took the rest of the day off to explore and set up base within Iwakagure.
During his time spent in Iwakagure Shinichi got a tour of the village from a genin named Hisui Kobushi but that tour was shortly ended by the insane, yet interesting female genin Yukuzu. Yukuzu seem to have split personalities, which most people would try to avoid but Shinichi saw some worth in making a friendship with this girl. After awhile Shinichi grew to like her as a friend and like all life forms, he cared about her as well.
Despite meeting an interesting woman, Shinichi had to push on with the mission. So, after getting a tour of the academy from Yukuzu, Shinichi snuck in and made copies of all the ninja profiles in their records that dated back all the way to the first class of ninja to go through the academy.
Shinichi continued on with his mission in Iwakagure and eventually snuck into the hospital. He disguised himself as a patient and stayed for one night where he snuck into the research sector of the hospital and made copies of all their medical advances over the years of the hospitals commission.
At that time Shinichi had gathered enough information that he could return back to Sunakagure confidently with his large sum of information he and horenzo gathered in Iwakagure. The only person to ever come close to finding out Shinichi's secret was Yukuzu, at least he thought she didn't find out...
Anbu Arc:
Spoiler: click to toggle Upon returning from his mission Shinichi was promoted to Anbu status, however, Shinichi requested that he seek out a master to train him. This master was Tatsujin, Subeta, the man who taught Shinichis father Kenjutsu. Shinichi set off on a journey to find Subeta who was rumored to be traveling around in the land of Lightning.
During his two months of seeking out Subeta, Shinichi trained to be one with the forest spirit that gifted the Fukamachi clan with the Juuten Herusu. He learned how to summon it with the spirits wakizashi, and was able to communicate with it to make use of its abilities. Near the end of those two months Shinichi learned how to fuse himself and the spirit together into a powerful combination.
In the end, Subeta found Shinichi traveling around the land of Lightning. Subeta had been secretly watching to see Shinichi's progress over his two months of traveling. See how Shinichi cooperated with the forest spirit, and eventually become one with it made Subeta realize that Shinichi would be a suitable apprentice just like his father.
For another three months Shinichi trained under Subeta in harsh elements. Shinichi learned how to control a second element, Lightning, which he was able to combine with wind in order to create a powerful new technique, 'Oshi Bakudan'. Through his training Shinichi earned the right to be known as an Anbu and when he finished his training he had a few new jutsu and a whole lot of new skills.
For many years Shinichi remained a member of the Anbu serving under the Kazekage. He performed missions involving assassinations of corrupt officials, merchants and priest. Shinichi's name began to spread across the lands as the slayer of the wicked and soon these rumors reached the ears of Sakuyu, Domon, an evil occultist who believed that world peace will be achieved by the actions of a new born human.
One night, while Shinichi, and his mother were asleep, Domon snuck into their home and kidnapped Shinichi's little sister, Kurunai. A message was left in sheeps blood that Domon would steal her soul if Shinichi did not meet him outside of Sunakagure. Without hesitation Shinichi gave chase after cultist. When he found Domon his sister was tied up with strange markings along her arms and forehead.
Domon held up a crystal and claimed that he would seal the soul of his sister within the gem if Shinichi did not join him in his quest to find his 'lord' and 'master' incarnated. Shinichi refused and attacked Domon before he could complete the sealing jutsu. Domon and Shinichi prooved to be a match in skill but with the help of Hayashi Shinichi managed to defeat Domon.
Before the final blow could be struct, Domon performed a forbidden jutsu which would transfer himself to Kurunai's body. Hayashi managed to prevent the transfer but not completely. Kurunai obtained half of Domons spiritually energy while Domon obtained half of hers. The more powerful of the two could easily take control of the other host, so now Domon had control of Kurunai and once again threatened her in order to gain Shinichi's allegiance.
Shinichi had no choice but to side with Domon for if he killed him, Kurunai would surely die with him. Right there in front of his sister and Domon, Shinichi took off his head band and carved a mark across its band. He then commanded Hayashi to watch over Kurunai to keep her safe. That night Shinichi left Sunakagure as a missing ninja working for the cultist Domon. A-Rank Missing Arc
Spoiler: click to toggle Shinichi now performs missions for Domon, secretly gathering information on the legends Domon talks about from each village while also seeking a means to restore Kurunai's spiritually energy. Shinichi also aids in capturing possible 'lords' or 'ladies' who could be the one to bring peace to the world.
Further along his path as an A-Rank missing nin Shinichi had conducted several missions for Domon. One of these missions, the most notable, was the invadeing of Iwakagure and capturing Yama, Heni. After Successfully capturing Heni, Iwakagure Hunter Nin discovered that he was missing when fellow Iwakagure Genin Kuma returned to town alone.
After a desperate battle between Shinichi and the two Hunter Nin, he managed to be vicotrious and kill them both. By killing these two Hunter Nin the leaders of Iwakagure announced that Shinichi was a number one priority criminal, an S-Rank Missing Nin S-Rank Missing Arc
Spoiler: click to toggle Shinichi is currently hiding within the Land of Tea under the care of a missin nin simply known as Chiyo. During their time together, Chiyo performed an eye surgery between Shinichi and Heni. The result was Shinichi gaining the abilities of the Yama clan's Harigan. Shinichi returned to the Forgotten ruins and aided Domon in discovering what was on the other side of the wall. All that could be told was that there was a red glow which could not be explained. Immediately Domon hired workers and began excavating the site slowly and carefully.
Meanwhile, Shinichi was in charge to train a small army for Domon. Each member of Domon army would learn basic academy jutsu to aid them in combat. They would also learn how to use swords proficiently unlike the traditional barbaric Mercenary. Shinichi, in his free time, researched the Magic Domon used and found connections between it and Chakra. This connection was a major breakthrough for which Shinichi would be able to replicate Domons soul stealing technique with a very powerful scroll.
Shinichis' plans to stop Domon were finally coming to an end, but with Domon growing more powerful everyday Shinichi found it hard to think if he was still powerful enough to defeat him on his own. Domon having gained a Kagiken from some means and his quickness in learning its power has made Domon a fierce opponent.
Missing-Nin Finale
It was to late, and plans were not going according to plan. The diggers uncovering the last of the caves secrets had finished clearing the entrance to the final room. Domon himself told him that it was now time to resurrect the forgotten Lord of the world and start the war to take over all the great Nations. Without Kurunai, Shinichi could only half perform the scroll he created to heal her soul. However, he couldn't wait any longer so Shinichi made his move.
As Domon entered the final rooms entrance Shinichi snuck up from behind, hiding in the shadows. In one hand he held his sheathed sword ready to unsheath and strike. In the other was the scroll waiting to be unraveled. A light could be seen down the dark corridors, a red diamond shaped light which Shinichi decided was the source of the forgotten Lords power. It let out aura like none he had ever felt before, Domon's power being the closest thing to it.
Finally, the nerve to attack quenched at Shinichi's heart. If he failed and made any mistakes now than the blood of his sisters life would be on his hands but if he succeeded than he not only will, have stopped Domon but he would have the part of his sisters soul that Domon used to control her. In second Shinichi was out of the shadows, sword drawn, and in one quick movement his sword pierced through Domons chest.
Domon was not surprised, he knew that Shinichi had been planning to kill him and sent the army Shinichi had trained to attack Sunakagure. The army was no where near powerful enough to overthrow the Hidden Village but there would be countless of needless bloodshed. With one final twist of his fathers katana the last of Domons life passed through the final gasp of air leaving his lungs.
In less than a second Shinichi unraveled the scroll, he would have to deal with the army later, right now was his only chance to catch this half of Kurunai's soul. The scroll was very complicated, created over years of studying and practicing Domons dark arts. By administering the proper amount of chakra and wiping blood on the seal Shinichi used the scroll. An energy reached out and ensnared the invisible force which was Kurunai's other half, pulling it into the scroll and sealing it within making the capture a complete success.
Shinichi departed the old cave, none of the diggers or army remained inside so with a few well placed Oshi Bakudan(preasure bombs) Shinichi collapsed the main entrance to the underground camp and left to catch up to the army. They moved fast, just as Shinichi trained them too. It was an army of one hundred and when they attacked it would be a complete massacre to the small group of men.
The army consisted of bandits, some low ranked missing ninja, and just men who needed a cause. They could do some damage but they would fall under the might of Sunakagure, however, not without killing some of the ninja with them. It took two days for Shinichi to catch up, Sunakagure already sent a team to investigate rumors of this army approaching Sunakagure, what they found was far from what they expected.
The missing ninja which acted as their 'elites' surrounded the team and held them captive. The plan was to use transformation jutsu to make themselves look like those ninja and then infiltrate the village to kill the kazekage. They 'reported' to the kazekage, and when the kages guard was down attacked. The attack was a failure, as the kage apprehended the attackers and had Sunakagures interrogators do their job.
All was revealed, that Shinichi had trained them only to gain the trust of their leader Domon and that the Sunakagure missing ninja planned to kill Domon to put a stop to their plans. With this knowledge gained the kage knew that Shinichi would try to stop the army on his own which would result in his own death. The Kazekage departed Suna to go aid Shinichi, knowing full well that together they could handle the army. When the Kazekage arrived Shinichi was already engaged in battle.
It was a great surprise to Shinichi that the Kazekage arrived to save him, a missing ninja, even if it meant being taken in to be jailed or executed. The two tag teamed the army and were able to dwindle its numbers. The battle was fierce, and through it the Kaze Kage could tell the hell Shinichi was going through. He personally trained these soldiers, taught them how to fight and use the sword. All of this a sacrifice to get close to the cult master Domon so that he could assassinate him in order to protect not only Sunakagure but the world.
Not only did he stop Domon from possibly resurrecting a powerful dead former lord of the land but he managed to save his sisters life which had started his journey from the beginning. Sacrifice, love and compassion were all strong traits for which Shinichi shared towards Sunakagure. However, while observing the kage allowed herself to become distracted and in the heat of battle sustained a serious wound to the abdomen.
By the time the battle was over, both Shinichi and the Kaze Kage sustained their share of wounds. Medical ninja arrived along with other ninja to kill of stranglers that the Kaze Kage and Shinichi missed. Of course all the medical Ninja went to the Kaze Kage first, try their best to heal her wounds. However, it was to late, the Kaze kages wounds were fatal and there wasn't time to save her.
In her last dieing breath, the Kazekage told the medical Ninja to help their new Kaze Kage, Fukamachi Shinichi. In the course of the entire battle the Kaze Kage learned a lot about who Shinichi was just by the way he fought and his actions for the past two years. If anybody was a suitable candidate it would be some one who would sacrifice everything, even their life, to protect Sunakagure. The medical Ninja, as ordered, immediately tended to Shinichi's wounds and then brought him back to the village.
Kage Arc
Spoiler: click to toggle With Domon finally dead and his army nothing but burning corpses layed across a battlefield Shinichi could finally rest, or so he thought. When he woke up in the Sunakagure hospital he was informed of his promotion to Kaze Kage. Confused as to why, the Medical Ninja who were on the scene explained. Shinichi excepted in honor of the Kaze Kages last wishes, and that day in the hospital Shinichi official accepted the duties of being the Kage.
The village was in need of organization and there weren't a lot of people who trusted Shinichi, which were not to blame considering the circumstances. Gaining everyones trust would be one of many goals for Shinichi during his first year as KazeKage. While recovering from his wounds Shinichi visited his mother and sister. His sister, happy to see his brother had managed to return to the village gave him back the sword Iche Te Shinzui for protection, his mother simply held her son close, having thought she would never see him again.
It was a new beginning for Shinichi as he took up the role of Kaze Kage, he set goals for the village to achieve and began to organize teams to be assigned the proper missions. Shinichi would not make waste of the former Kaze Kages decision and would do the best he could during his time as Kaze Kage.
Coma
Spoiler: click to toggle Early during his time as the kage, a strange evil was building outside of the village. Shinichi and an army of Sunakagures best meet this evil in combat. That evil became known as 'The Reaper;. It was discovered that the reaper was a spirit like Hayashi and sought to take over the world.
With the combined efforts of Shinichi and Riku, they managed to destroy the Reaper. However, both Riku and Shinichi died. In the last moments of Shinichi's life Hayashi sacrificed himself and revived Shinichi. However, the body was incapable of receiving his soul at the time so Hayashi quick created a second body for him in the Land of Iron which was far enough away from the dark energy that a soul to body merge could take place.
Shinichi was in a coma for a year, while Kichirou, his new body, traveled the world to find him. When Kichirou finally made his way to Sunakagure he fused with Shinichi but this created new complications.
The Change
Spoiler: click to toggle Hayashi was with Kichirou and saw the full extent of the worlds corruption through his eyes. Having felt his time on earth was wasted, Hayashi changed completely and took on a similar mind set to the Reapers but instead of destroying humanity, which was an impossible task, he decided to bring the other spirits into his world and rule over them.
When Kichirou fused with Shinichi, Hayashi took control of him and had to find a way to bring the remaining four other spirits to Earth. However, locking Shinichi away wasn't all he had to do. The memories of Kichirou actually developed into a soul of its own and now he had Shinichi as well as Kichirou in his head.
Shinichi now battles for control over his body against Hayashi, who wants world domination, and Kichirou who wants to return to the land of Iron and live a peaceful life.
Shinichi returns to normal
Spoiler: click to toggle Hayashi is eventually captured by Riku and taken to a holding cell where a shinobi named Chihiro places a seal which weakened the spirit enough that Shinichi could remain in control. This time was peaceful for Shinichi, as they came up with a plan to remove the two extra spirits living inside of his body. The idea was dangerous, but the best way to separate the spirit from the body. Shinichi would have to have a near death experience to the point where their spirits would leave the body to go to heaven or hell. Kurunai suffocated her brother until he initially died from lack of oxygen, however, medical ninja used their art to revive the body while Chihiro sealed the three souls into unique glass spheres. Shinichi was returned to his body, Kichirou was sent to okakuhatsu where a new body was made for him and Hayashi had his sphere destroyed allowing his spirit to pass. Surprisingly, Hayashi had left Shinichi a sort of gift, some of his power as the forest spirit. With Shinichi finally fully revitalized, he could take up his mantle as Kaze Kage again.
Shinichi had a second surgery performed on his eye and returned the eye he had stolen to Yama, Heni. It was an attempt to make amends for what he did back when he was working for Domon but tension was still high between the two. The Kaze Kage then decided to open a Dojo within Sunakagure open for people to come and learn martial arts from various masters in the Land of Wind. The Dojo was named Tetsumasu (Iron Will), and was an extension to the village were several new food and clothing stores opened. The majority of Tetsumasu is for training but there is also a hot springs, staffed medical facility, and a living area where Shinichi and some of the other masters live.
