As citizen begin to join the forums, I think it would be nice to have a place to begin talking about what we think our government should be. As the Founder, I obviously have some idea of what I'd like it to be, but it's equally important that each citizen gets to help shape our community. I'd ask that you keep with the city theme, but other than that I'm open to whatever ideas you may have.

There's only a few of us now, so no hurry, but feel free to begin spit-balling.

As for titles, I would think something like "Mayor" for the Head of State and "Chief Councilor" or something of the like for the Head of Government.
Federal Chancellor might be fine for the Head of Government.
Would Chief Chancellor sound good?

Well first get a house application up. We dont want 20 different houses so we start with five. Then let's say every 10 nations we increase the cap by one. The application will ask basic info such as the name some background info for RPs if we have those and a platform. Then relationships Would be in the form of adoptions or NS marriages (well that part was how it was in the region that did this)
It seems like it could get messy, especially when family members don't have aligned political ideologies.
Again, that is why each house has a platform, Plus joining a house is optional as well as even in the Republican or Democrat parties they don't get a long all the time. So some disagreements can happen. You can't expect 100% of the Same ideals.

My main concern is that existing NS families would find it hard to integrate into a politics-based system of houses.

daproben: I'm not really satisfied with any of the names yet. They're missing that... je ne sais quoi.

Yeah, but not everything in a house is political, for instance there was Role plays for houses and these houses improved the region time and time again.

Sure. I'm just not sold on the idea that they need to be political as well.

Dap: It just means "that something." The names don't have that special something.

Just an idea, perhaps the city could be divided in boroughs or districts, which people could be assigned to upon registration or maybe we could leave which district they wanted to join to them, and then each distrcit could elect it's own representatives in the regional legislature? It'd give something different to the region, and I know that you have said an open legislature is best, though I don't really agree, but it's still an idea.

This is a good idea. I'm sure it could lead to some dirty electioneering (people trying to move around right before elections), but it may be worth a try. The only problem is we obviously don't have enough members for that yet.

I don't know what kind of restrictions you may mean. I think we should allow whatever kind of parties people are interested in having.

As for the Constitution, yes, we ought to discuss it. It needs to incorporate all the ideas we've laid out and probably many more. We haven't discussed a Judiciary yet.
