As citizen begin to join the forums, I think it would be nice to have a place to begin talking about what we think our government should be. As the Founder, I obviously have some idea of what I'd like it to be, but it's equally important that each citizen gets to help shape our community. I'd ask that you keep with the city theme, but other than that I'm open to whatever ideas you may have. There's only a few of us now, so no hurry, but feel free to begin spit-balling. |

OK well we will have to have other positions outside of the normal city theme. Honestly, I would like to see maybe some houses spring up that would allow some ideas for Rps for example like House Tiberius. But outside if Rps it would just be more of a political thing for instance each house could be It's own party with in the government. Plus I think citizens should have a say in laws So I believe we should make regiomake senate in which anyone can join even if your on the government or not. |

I agree about the houses bit. I was planning to set up another forum section with areas for houses, business, newspapers, etc, whatever people are interested in. I'm not sure how easy it would be to integrate the houses into the government. As for the legislature, I think including everyone is fine to start with, but as we grow I think we should consider an elected representative legislature. |

Yeah, but many regions who do that work for awhile but a republic requires people which want to serve in the office and serve the people. Some regional governments get too large with an elected legislature. But that's just my experience, but think of each house as a political party if that helps. |

Do you mind me asking what other regions you were a part of? I'm not necessarily opposed to a citizen legislature, but I think elections generate activity, so an elected legislature would help out in that area. Elected legislators also have more incentive to legislate well, since we can vote them out if they don't. I agree that governments tend to get too large, but we also need citizens to have something to strive for (elected positions). |

Well I have another nation called the New Roman Empire So this nation physically was not part of a region. The GUE was a region that I was a vice president, Minster of Internal affairs and a foreign affairs Minister also a judge. It worked for awhile but then people became inactive when we had a elected and we couldnt fill positions. I was part of the Dominion of Markarth, URoN, GUE I was part of Dash imperium before it feel. I can't Really speak idly position with in Dash as I swore would never tell a soul about it. But every region with elected legislatures become inactive positions can't be filled. That has happened in almost every region. Edited by Lord Tiberius, Jan 4 2014, 03:12 PM.

I don't know if that's necessarily true. Europeia has maintained an active elected Senate. |

Like I said that is my experience I mean don't get me wrong regions can pull it off, but they need to be large and have tons of active people. |

So we're agreed then, a citizen legislature at least to start with. |
