School was catching up on her. Between the hours she spent in the gym and not in the classroom, she was behind in work and she had to make up for lost time somehow. So she was skipping her Health Class to work on homework from her other courses. She sat at her desk in her dorm and stared at the books on the desk before her. There was a pile on the floor of more books, she had to research through, almost as high as the desk on the floor. She sighed lightly and then looked out the window that was lighting her desk. Fidgeting with her wand, she could just see the tip of the veranda in the distance. The place she had met Blake so long ago. A smile spread across her lips and she waved her wand at her books and charmed them down to a reasonable size and stuffed them all into a bag. She grabbed whatever else she needed and decided to head to the gardens. There was no point to sitting inside on such a gorgeous day.

_______

Hurrying across the lawn to the garden's entrance, she looked over her shoulder. She could have sworn she had felt someone's eyes on her, but she shook that feeling and headed towards the veranda, making sure she didn't get locked in again by any charmed doors, she charmed her own doors in the archways. She smiled to herself gently and jumped up on the edge of the fountain, walking along it. There was something about the sound of running water that was soothing to her. And perhaps it was what she associated it to... where she first met, hugged and kissed Blake.

She missed him. She was so behind she really didn't have time to see him as much as she would like, but she knew that he would understand. If she were lucky, maybe he would wander down here to walk and think as he was doing that time she had met him. But if not, she would get work done. She made her way up the stairs and settled down at the table in the middle of the veranda. Spreading out her books, after making them the right size, she started to work. Nose to the books.

It's been busy. So busy. Like, he can't do anything busy. But today, screw it all. It's time for some relaxation. Blake, sitting in his dorm room dreading the return of night and thus the return of the daylight in which the busy schedule resumes, can't help but wonder what his darling Riley is up to.

With a start, Blake jumped up to his feet. No sense in sitting around here bored and feeling sorry for himself, time to go take in some beauty.

Before long, he found himself in front of the gardens, and then wandering through the gardens. And then it struck him, he was not far from where he first met her, this girl that drove him insane, the one he has been missing, and the very same one he is idly hoping to see. As he wanders through the garden, his feet subconsciously drive him toward that fated spot. The same spot he subconsciously was always heading to. Go figure.

As Blake rounded the corner, a person came into view. From behind, he sees the blonde hair, that posture that he has held in memory so tightly. He is behind her, and she has not yet noticed him. And an idea. Quietly, he backs up to gain himself some cover and charms himself to deathly quiet. It's not a hard charm, something that has been taught to all younger wizards of any kind. As he moves slowly, avoiding the various noise-makers on the ground -- a dried up flower here, a twig carelessly broken there -- a smile creeps onto his face. Upon creeping up to her, so studiously concentrating on her work, he acts. Arms fly around, head ducks down. She's a fighter, and he has no wish to be pummeled this day. But he knows her, knows how she moves. And he knows that it will be a good surprise. As he wraps her up in his arms, he says in a calm but playful voice, "Hey, Riley, it's been too long."

Riley's mind began to wander into the stories of the book in front of her. She smiled lightly thinking about the life of the writer... what brought them to write this particular story? What was their inspiration? Was it that they had gone through the same situation? A friend? Maybe just a story thought up as they watched another family or couple go through it. And she then laughed lightly as she shook her head lightly to clear her head of the thoughts and reached up to her hair. She combed her fingers through it and brushed it up to a messy bun with a band she always had around her wrist. She set the pen down and let out a long loud sigh, rubbing her eyes. It was just too much work sometimes.... but it would all pay off in the end. At least she hoped it did.

Suddenly, some arms wrapped around her and then a cool, playful voice told her it had been too long. She jumped and hiccuped just like she did in the Thunder storm all those months ago and knew who it was. She took a deep breath to calm herself and then turned her head to glare at him over her shoulder, a smile on her young face. "Yes. Yes it has. But if that's how you decide to greet me each time, I could go longer between meetings, love." she teased. She twisted out of his arms, jumped up and then flung her arms around him, clinging to him. It was nice to see him and be so close. "Aaaaaaaaand.... now I'm not letting go." she informed him.

She smiled brightly. She had missed him so much... it had been a week or so since they had really seen each other. And that was just breakfast one morning for a quick chuck of joe and half a scone. She hoped that this relationship would turn into that. It meant so much more to her.

As she teased him about his greeting, he could do nothing but smile at her feigned glare. Moments like that were why he was so head-over-heels. As she shifted in his arms, he lessened his grip to allow her movement and she broke free, and with no warning, he found himself wrapped in her embrace once more, like he had longed for so often during their time apart.

"I would have it no other way, Sweetie," he responded softly as he returned the embrace.

After a moment of silence, he shook his head, clearing out thoughts of what his hormones demanded and instead shuffled the pair of them to one of the nearby benches and pulled her down onto him as he sat. "And how was your week," he asked awkwardly. It had been a week and though he had been so busy, there was nothing really exciting to relay on his end, thus the awkwardness. He wanted to just pull her close, kiss her, and then do things with her, but he also knew that he cared far too much to simply do that alone. And therein lay the crux of the matter. He wanted so much more than his hormonal desires, yet those same hormones were still in overdrive, begging to be satiated. Hopefully this beautiful girl sitting on his lap would properly distract his mind from those mere fleshy thoughts. Though he also knew that her hormones would likely demand the same of her. And thus, back to the seemingly awkward question at hand: an opening for her to move beyond the flesh and into the mind, a way to avoid whiling away all their time in pursuits of the flesh and make whatever time they may have today mean more to both. Of course, he would not say no should she succumb to those temptations...

Riley could feel that he was happy to have her thin arms wrapped around him and as she heard him say that he wouldn't have it any other way, she laughed lightly. She then felt herself lifted and carried over to a bench on the gazeebo. She smiled lightly at him and nestled her head on his shoulder as he sat her down on his lap. She closed her eyes and took a deep breath. He had always smelt so good to her... She couldn't put a finger on what it was exactly that she loved so much, but she figured it had to do with the chemicals between two people... She stopped herself from getting to science-y on herself as it just would confuse her more and make her irritable. Which she didn't want to be now that she was with Blake again.

He asked how her week was and she raised a brow lightly. He sounded completely awkward asking her that and she guess it was just his attempt at small-talk. Perhaps there was something more on his mind? She would ask, but she was going to talk about her week and then ask. She smiled. "Oh... a lot of work. I can see why this school is in the top ten... they certainly make you work for your degrees... But I'm enjoying it. At least my professors are nice and we seem to get along...." she said. 'Especially Cor.... but... he lost his chance.... I'm much more happy now anyways...' she thought. It was true that she had a thing for Cor a while back, but when he showed no interest, or at least covered it up, and it was obvious that Blake liked her. She went for him. She was falling more and more in love with Blake... and she, well, loved it.

She looked at him. "What's on your mind, Blake?" she asked him, sitting up a bit so she could look into his eyes.[/i]

Blake listened intently as she spoke about her week, more to keep his mind on her as opposed to her, as it were. And then the hardest question of all: "What's on your mind, Blake?"

Such a dangerous question right now, but alas, no more could he deny it than he could run away, so here goes nothing...

"Well, sweetie, there's a lot goin on in my mind right now and to say it all could take hours. Yet there are just a few important highlights that must be pointed out for the whole to be grasped fairly easily. I, well, I am but a simple boy with a free mind and hormones wishing to be set free. Which would be all well and good, were I in my own dorm. But here I am, sitting with a beautiful young girl upon my lap. And so we come upon the crux of the matter. Hormones being hormones and all, there is a part of me, and I cannot say how large, that would like nothing better than to just shut the hell up right now and continue down the path of unthinking. However, there is also that part of me that wishes to remain lucid in the hopes of becoming closer to you in more than just body. And so, here I sit, wanting a lot, unsure of what is mine to take. Thus, I suppose, it is you, my fair maiden, whom must choose for herself."

After rounding out the rather long rambling of a young boy with a small peck to the forehead of his beloved, Blake sat back, eyes alight and searching. It would not be the first time he had laid out his innermost thoughts to Riley, and every time before she had responded with whatever befell her own...

Riley listened... or rather tried. As soon as he had said what was on his mind and she got just what it was he was talking about, she let out a small blush. She knew that he would see it, but she couldn't help it. She had never done what he was implying and she wasn't sure if he had, but it sounded like he wanted to. She was both flattered, that he wanted to take things to the next level, and embarrassed... talking openly about that stuff was never really her strength. She had always shied away from it for obvious reasons as her cheeks flushed an even darker red for all to see.

She looked up at him and thought for a moment after his kiss what to say, what to do. He had left it up to her, with his strong inclinations for one choice over the others. She sighed lightly and then cleared her throat. "Well... have you... err... well... you know.... before?" she timidly inquired. She could feel her face flush, but she couldn't help it! She never really talked about this stuff. Most of her being wished that he had not done it before seeing as she would prefer to be with a virgin, but if he had, there was nothing she could do about it, but change her own status when she felt comfortable to do so. She waited eagerly to hear his response and to decide from there just what to do for the rest of the day...

As Riley blushed, spoke, and flushed, Blake couldn't help but let out a small smile accompanied by a light chuckle. He considered a typical smart-ass comment to lighten the mood for just a moment and dismissed the thought. That would probably not go over well. Instead, he desperately tried to be as serious and straightforward as possible, because it seemed like that kind of conversation, though hormones demanded a different course entirely.

"Riley, I love you with as much of my heart as I know to exist at this moment in time, though I cannot say I am a virgin. There was.....someone in the past, far into the past. Many years ago now. I was young and naive and thought the world could not go around without her. Since then I have learned many things about life and love, and come to understand that what I had with her was a mistake. And what I did with her was no better. I cannot say I regret anything I have done, as everything back then helped make me who I am now. What I can say is that it was many years ago and had I known what I know now, I likely would not have."

Riley listened and nodded, smiling lightly, resting her forehead against his. Taking a deep breath she tried to calm herself and under stand. She knew how to have someone so important in your life was, but she couldn't say she had done the same. She knew it was nothing to be ashamed of, being a virgin, but she was just afraid she wouldn't know what to do... she closed her eyes and thought for a long moment, silently.

She knew that men hated silence in conversations like these, but she couldn't help it. She really had to be careful about what she said. Especially when it came to the conversation of making love. Opening her eyes and looked at him, pulling away slightly. "I understand..." her hand rested on his cheek, her thumb caressing his face. "And I can say that I am. You are the first guy that has meant anything like this to me... I'm nervous because..." she rested her head on his shoulder again. "What if I'm no good?" she asked hiding her face against his neck.

So this is what it boiled down to...she was afraid she would be no good. That wasn't a problem, he knew, hormones and natural, guttural human instincts handled most of that. However, it did put a smile on his face.

"Riley, I would take one of you over a thousand others regardless of that. What matters to me is you, not some physical ability. As I have said, I have learned a lot since my previous mistake. The most important is this," Blake pause a moment and nudged her chin up with his hand, looked her in the eyes and drank in the depths of her soul, "it doesn't matter what you do, or how you do it. It only matters who you do it with."
