The people of the southern empire are a partly nomadic people. The hardships of the scorching heat and scarcity of water has made them become a close-knit, hard working people. There is a class divide in the southern empire, (less commonly known as the malsanic empire) however there has been a strong tradition of unity and sharing between the people, a fallout of their nomadic days, before being conquered by the sejluks. After they were conquered, they were shown a different lifestyle in the cities, a lifestyle of trade and prosperity. there are still nomadic tribes who wander the desert, and some say they are given refuge by the ruins, though this myth is scarcely believed. The ruins have been in the southern desert, and no written documents of the forgotten empire have been found. The nomads are the only missing link between this ancient empire and the people of today, thought the nomads culture and history is being threatened by the greed that is slowly taking their cities. The nomads who wander the desert still maintain their original language, and have a short temper for what they consider halfwits, and this has made any communication between the Imperial scholars and the nomads difficult, nearby impossible being that they can never be found unless they wish to. |

so just to clarify, there are two types of southerners? the true nomads who roam the ruins, and the others who have settled into cities? |
