There are a handful of things that trigger my "There doesn't need to be a Chaos version" and Templars are one of them. |

Yeah I kinda agree. Sure they can fall to chaos, but not in meaningful numbers. But if your on about converting a few using the Black Templars upgrades then that's fine. More than enough codex chapters to corrupt. |

I don't see why it wouldn't be. As for background you can have corrupted templars if you want. It wouldn't be easy to create background for such an army but it could be done. In any case it is your army and you can do whatever you want with models and background. True there doesn't need to be a chaos version of templars but then we have the vomit inducing background that is Kal Draigo. So go for it. |

Codex: Chaos Space Marines already have Black Templars. They're called Khorne Berzerkers! Lol |

I tend to remember things off the top of my head as opposed to checking, so please excuse and correct any official fluff mistakes I make. A lot of it also personal interpretation and theory, so feel free to disagree as well, I won't mind | |

I was just wondering if that thought would be feasible. What Im hearing is as conversions go im fine but for actual fluff... I just might want to do that. My main reason for asking is I like the Black templars codex but I dont like black tmeplars per say. I geuss what Ill do is a corrupted chapter that was closely associated with the Black Templars and had adopted some of their doctrines. |

Or any Khornate warband. Khorne, to me, is first and foremost a God of martial discipline and honour (a twisted version, I'll admit, lol). Dan Abnett nailed the thought pretty well with the Blood Pact... just because you worship the Blood God doesn't mean you're incapable of rational thought and tactical realities, despite a preference for CQC and skull-taking. An order of crusading knight-marines who solely worship the Blood God's martial aspect above all others would be outstanding, if done correctly. As for the fluff, I think it'd be cool if you went with a more diverse Warband, a collection of traitors and madmen from all walks of life (amongst the Astartes), sworn to a bloody code of honour. Here, a World Eater, there an Iron Knight, a Celestial Lion, a Marine Malevolent, an Ultramarine, an Extinction Angel, etc etc. Gore-streaked Knights-Errant, crusadeing in the Skull King's name, united by blood within and blood without, claymores and axes in hand, laying waste to Imperial Heroes with sharpened adamantium and bloodstained honour, gore-wet tabards slapping wetly against their armour as they defeat opponent after opponent in single combat, always ensuring to salute their defeated foe before moving on to the next. Sorry, got a bit carried away... :$ EDIT: Another quick thought... brass armour with black Tabards, the Warband symbol picked out in red on the cloth. Damn, you really got me thinking about this now, lol. If I start a Khornate army, I blame you, renegade. Edited by 1000heathens, Jun 14 2012, 04:25 AM.

Which begs the question, 1000heathens. Why are you aligned with Undivided? Why not give into those urges to slaughter, maim and burn! Join knorne. You know you want to! goneRENAGADE in your other thread you said money was short at the moment. I don't know where you are in the world but according to GW website in the UK. The templar upgrade kit is £20.00 and thats on top of £23.00 for a tactical squad/CSM squad*. If financing such an army is going to be a problem I'd leave it or go for something more affordable. *not checked if CSM marines are the same price as there loyalist counterparts. |
