Can't stand them. Can't take them on the plane where I do most of my reading |

I tend to remember things off the top of my head as opposed to checking, so please excuse and correct any official fluff mistakes I make. A lot of it also personal interpretation and theory, so feel free to disagree as well, I won't mind | |

I've listened to Throne of Lies, Raven's Flight and the Garro short story. I usually listen to them when I'm driving from base to the nearest city (which his about an hour away ). Are the Prospero Burns and A Thousand Son full length? I'd buy more if they were actually full length....

Yes both Prospero Burns and Thousand Sons are full length audio books. Oddly I found Thousand Sons better as a paper book but only alright as an audio and visa versa for Prospero Burns. The person who reads Prospero Burns has the voices of the Vlka Fenryka and the human characters pretty much in line with what I had in my head when reading the novel. The person reading Thousand Sons though seemed to use the same or similar voices to the ones he used in the begining Horus audio trilliogy. For example one of the human characters in Thousand Sons sounds an awful lot like Horus. I don't remember the names of the narrators for the audio books. Just listened the other day to 'Butchers Nails' and once again Mr Dembski-Bowden has proven he has almost no equal in writing heresy or 40K fiction! I'm a little annoyed his latest book 'The Emperor's Gift' (a hardback) and the 'Primarchs' where out on the same day! I didn't have the spare cash to pick up both. So opted for the Primarchs which not being a hardback was considerably cheaper. Spoiler: click to toggle Edited by Yaj, Jun 1 2012, 09:57 PM.

I don't mind that BL puts out audio books, but I really wish they'd make a prose version along with it. I'm mostly deaf from a daisy-chained IED back in '05, and unless I blare my music at max (thank god I listen to metal and hardcore, lol), I can't really hear crap. Rocking out to some First Blood or Heaven Shall Burn at max volume is great, but it's not so fun when it's a story being screamed at me. |
