Well, since all logs I ever put up anywhere except the Serpent's Lair seems to be ignored by the general public, I'd though I'd try here as well!  This is what started it all, my desk was a mess!!!  And in addition to that I had several bitz boxes...  So I decided to not buy another set of marines until the stash I already had was A LOT smaller!!! I had(and still have) plenty of spare parts, and deemed it realistic that I could assemble a squad made out from nothing but "spare parts" from the bitz box. And thus here they were(the plasma guys have had to go into exile after an abysmal tournament, but the rest is still there)...    ... |

Unfortunately I can't see the amount of bitz decreasing really, and so far I have only managed to paint a single spare part model, pew pew... More inc...sooner or later... |

I tend to remember things off the top of my head as opposed to checking, so please excuse and correct any official fluff mistakes I make. A lot of it also personal interpretation and theory, so feel free to disagree as well, I won't mind

Thanks for the comments! And to answer your question Araziel, I have absolutely no idea! I started playing in 2nd ed and continued until the start of 3d ed, when all my friends that were playing found better things to do and stopped playing. I couldn't find anyone else to play with so I stopped too. The other year I found out that two of my colleagues were playing, and so I started out again. I dusted off the old box with GW stuff in it that I had left(another, smaller box, had been stolen with all my Necromunda stuff in it!!!  ) and started going through stuff. Turns out I had A LOT of unbuilt marines and sprues lying around...and even a few bitz boxes already with old CSM/SM stuff...and strangely enough one old 2nd ed eldar powerfist... I also found my old 2nd ed Catachans that I haven't decided what to do with yet...And when I have been buying new stuff the pile of stuff has slowly been increasing for the last one and a half year or so... Here is another bitz box, a smaller one...  And some of my old 2nd ed models that were still in one piece and painted... Khorne Lord:  Tzeentch Sorcerer Lord:  The only 3 of my Thousand Sons I could find and that were painted: (I can tell you it was a harsh job sawing off those heads from their original bodies!!!)  |

I feel your pain regarding lost/stolen minis. When I moved away from home five or so years ago, I returned to pick up all my 40k after getting back into the hobby. And what do I find? My mum has thrown out around 7k of Necrons, 3k of Ultramarines and 2k of Orks. Wasn't happy ¬.¬ I'm glad to see that most of your collection has remained intact, however. I really wonder how many marines you could muster out of those parts... my money is on half a battle company, at least! |
